DCLM Daily Manna – God Among Mortals

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 15 March 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God Among Mortals

TOPIC: God Among Mortals

TEXT: Isaiah 9:1-7 (KJV)

1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

KEY VERSE: “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” – (Isaiah 9:7)

MESSAGE:

Man waited for centuries for the birth of Jesus Christ as prophesied by Isaiah. It was a long wait, according to the Lord Himself. Apostle Peter was also aware of this passionate expectation when he wrote of how the prophets “searched diligently…[for] what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow” (1 Peter 1:10,11).

When the Messiah eventually appeared among men to fulfil prophecy, man’s joy knew no bounds. The doctrine He brought unfolded all what the Scriptures said of Him. He performed signs and wonders, and turned out to be the mighty God who healed the sick and stilled tempests. He became the everlasting Father to those orphaned by satanic afflictions. He is the Prince of peace who has ushered tranquillity into a world under attack by hosts of hell.

Christ’s entry into the world is responsible for the incredible transformation man has experienced in his soul over the ages. What education, science and technology, philosophy, religion, wealth and wars have failed to achieve, faith in Jesus and His promises have achieved. Christ’s salvation, finally, opens the pearly gates of heaven for those who submit to Him.

The world needs this great Personality, whose main mission is to make us like Himself so we can live with Him in heaven, the abode of His Father, the holy angels and saints. He is in our midst now. His abiding presence gives us hope, victory, abundance and unending joy.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Immanuel’s abiding presence gives us hope.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Jeremiah 31-32
