Dr. Mike Okonkwo – Learn To Exercise Dominion

Topic: Learn To Exercise Dominion [Sunday November 12, 2017]

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV)

Genesis chapter 1 reveals how God functions and also teaches how Man that is created in God’s image and likeness should function. In the beginning, according to the scriptures, God created the heaven and the earth. God is a good God. He has no evil to give. He has nothing bad at all to give any man. All He gives is good.

But in Genesis 1:2 (KJV), the bible says, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep…” You will discover it appeared as if there is a contradiction as if what God created was bad. However, in verse 3 (KJV), God began to show His children how they ought to function. He took charge by exercising dominion. It says, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Instantly, darkness was expelled. That is how to rule. That is how to exercise dominion. Through the spoken word! You don’t fold your hands and allow the devil run roughshod over you. Don’t sit down and cry to God. Do something. Don’t you know you are His representative here on earth? “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth has He given to the children of men. (Psalms 115:16 KJV)

You have the authority of God. Therefore, whenever you see the devil, you should expel him. The world was created by the spoken word. God said, and God saw. This world was not created out of what is seen. He upholds all things by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). If you remove the word now, everything you are seeing will disintegrate. The word is so powerful. It can create and can sustain. We are made in the image and likeness of God. So we can also speak like God and the words will create what we desire and sustain it. Don’t speak your circumstance; speak what you want. Jesus declared in Mark 11:23 that you can have whatever you say if you believe and do not doubt in your heart.
