Drawing Strength From God’s Altar ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Drawing Strength From God’s Altar [Saturday February 11, 2017]

“The glory of young men is there strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey hair.” (Prov. 20:29)

You draw strength from the altar of God if you care for the body of Christ. You show how wise you are by how much you understand the body of Christ. The Bible talks about the glory of the young men being their strength (Prov. 20:29). Young people, what are you doing with your glory? Do you use it in promoting the body of Christ or in promoting things of this world? You must protect the body of Christ.

The body of Christ needs protection. All the parts of your body work together to make the entire body function efficiently. No part of the body can function in isolation. We all need one another to protect ourselves. The Church is not a physical building. You and I are the Church, and by protecting one another, we protect ourselves.

When you ridicule the Church, you ridicule yourself. The Church isn’t the pastor. If you go about disparaging the Church, you do not hurt the Pastor. You hurt Christ. If you call yourself a Christian but speak evil of the Church, you expose yourself to the kingdom of darkness. Nevertheless, the Church has been built, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. You must respect the body of Christ.

“… upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matt 16:18)

You cannot partake of the benefits of being a Christian if you have not genuinely given your life to Christ. God needs you to be a genuine Christian. Win souls today. I pray that the Holy Spirit helps you.

WORD OF WISDOM: What you do with your strength determines the glory it brings to you.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Oh! LORD, in the name of Jesus, I believe and draw strength from your altar. Send unto me helpers to defeat my adversaries.
