CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Any Accursed Thing In Your Midst? (II)

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Wednesday, February 23, 2022 | Any Accursed Thing In Your Midst? (II)

Topic:  Any Accursed Thing In Your Midst? (II)

Date: Wednesday, February 23, 2022

Read: Joshua 7:1-6, 16-25

MEMORISE: And Joshua said, “Why have you troubled us? The LORD will trouble you this day.” So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones (Joshua 7:25)

EXPOSITION

When a man allows those things that God abhors to infiltrate and settle down in his life, he should be ready to come face to face with the consuming Fire of God (Heb. 12:21). That was sufficiently emphasised in the dose of our Living Water yesterday.

What are the implication of allowing an accursed thing in our midst as a family, church, mission, or in our hearts as individuals? In the first place, it is like taking fire in one’s bosom and expecting the clothes not to be burnt (Prov. 6:27). How is that possible? He who takes an accursed thing invites God’s wrath (Jos. 7:1). It also brings corporate punishment and destruction (vv. 4,5). Achan eventually brought disaster, not only on himself, but also on everything/body that belonged to him. Harbouring accursed things results in poverty, spiritually and otherwise.

Moreover, taking an accursed thing in turn takes away one’s courage and boldness in the Lord (v. 5b ‘therefore the hearts of the people melted and became like water’). It also leads to the junction of confusion and delusion (v. 8). How terrible would it be for God to describe one as having ‘sinned, and … transgressed My covenant which I commanded them’ (v. 11)? It is better to imagined than experienced. Ask Joshua and those Israelites under him in the passage of our devotion today. This is so because God sees such a person as a thief and hypocrite (v. 11).

Who would want to fall before his/her enemies (v. 12)? He who takes the accursed thing cannot escape such an experience, because he is himself divinely regarded as an accursed person (v. 12), and thus an enemy of the awesome God. What are those accursed things in your life, today – the skeletons in your cupboard, those things you would be ashamed of, if people were to know or hear of them? The only way out of the consequences is to destroy them (v. 12c), by accepting the lordship of Jesus Christ and allowing the visitation of the sanctifying power of His blood.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Thank God for the assurance of forgiveness and salvation in Christ Jesus.

2. Pray that any accursed thing, known and unknown, in your life, be removed, in the name and by the power of Jesus.

3. Pray that God would visit altars in our homes and churches with His consuming fire to remove all filths of falsehood and demonic influences.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Understanding And Pursuing Your Life’s Assignment

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 24 February 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Understanding And Pursuing Your Life’s Assignment

TOPIC: Understanding And Pursuing Your Life’s Assignment

SCRIPTURE: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your life’s assignment is key to your life’s enhancement and uplifting.

It has been established that your life’s assignment is key to your life’s enhancement and uplifting. The assignment of your life is what will produce the enhancement for your life. The assignment of your life is critical to your uplifting in life.
This can be seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 41:36-44. When you follow the assignment of your life, it facilitates the enhancement and uplifting for your life.

There are many people whose lives are not enhanced. They do not make any progress because they do not understand their life’s assignment. But when you understand what to do with your life, your enhancement and uplifting in life follow suit.

Now, how do you understand and fulfil your life’s assignment?
i. Ask God to clearly reveal to you the purpose of your life (Habakkuk 2:1).
One of the most important prayers a person can pray is, “Lord, why do I exist? What did you bring me into this world to do?” It is called prayer of enquiry.

ii. Pursue your life’s purpose with everything you have got. (Habakkuk 2:2-3).
You must make up your mind to pursue your discovered purpose or life’s assignment with everything you have got. Develop yourself. Deploy your potentials, talents, energy, time, resources and intellect to become all you are meant to be in life.

REMEMBER THIS: Your life’s assignment is key to your life’s enhancement and uplifting.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to understand your life’s assignment.
  2. Pursue your life’s assignment with all you have got.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the pathway to purpose. I receive the grace to understand and pursue my life’s assignment, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: DISTINCTION BY WISDOM (PT. 1).

QUOTE: To follow the way of purpose is to end in the place of prominence. Culled from “WISDOM FOR DISTINCTION” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 8-11.

REFLECTION: Until the fish operates inside the water, it can know no fulfilment. Until the bird operates in the sky, it can see no fulfilment. Our fulfilment in life is in the Purpose of God.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: You shall not miss out on your purpose in life in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. It is a power-packed arena where God’s Presence, Principles and Power are at work for the salvation, healing and restoration of human destinies and dignities.

DCLM Daily Manna – Caring For The Brethren

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 24 February 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Caring For The Brethren

TOPIC: Caring For The Brethren

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 (KJV)

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

KEY VERSE: “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” – (1 Corinthians 12:13)

MESSAGE:

The human body has many parts. The visible ones include the legs, arms, eyes and so on. There are others, which we cannot see like the heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, etc. Though different in their various functions, they are all coordinated and supportive of one another. None of them can be independent of others. God has so crafted the human body that there is no schism among them.

The body of Christ, the Church, is likened to the human body. With various members of different backgrounds and skills, they are supposed to work together and support one another to fulfil the will of Christ, the Head of the body.

The Church of Christ should be a place of refuge, rest and renewal, where the believer should have peace and assurance that all shall be well, irrespective of the challenges he may be facing. The psalmist said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD” (Psalm 122:1). As each member of the human body concentrates on its function and does it effectively, so must every member of the body of Christ exist for the good and upliftment of one another to the glory of God.

Every believer must find out his calling and fit in for the good of all. Our work in the church must not be to pull down others, criticise or fight one another. Rather, we should “follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another” (Romans 14:19). Are you contributing your quota towards the building of the body of Christ?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Together, everyone achieves more.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotiona – Godly Examples Of Dedicated People

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 22 February 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Godly Examples Of Dedicated People

TOPIC: Godly Examples Of Dedicated People

SCRIPTURE: But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A stand with God in the place of prayer and the Word is a confirmation of brutal dedication to God.

Dedication to God has been confirmed to be a major key to destiny fulfilment. Men who are sold out totally to God are men who stand out in life.

Today, we shall look at godly examples of people who were dedicated to God through the practice of prayer and the Word so we can follow their footsteps.

i. The Apostles
The Apostles of Jesus Christ made up their minds to give themselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4). There were things that wanted to distract them from their commitment to prayer and the Word but they took a firm decision to devote themselves wholly to prayer and God’s Word. This is because there is no better way to be dedicated to God if prayer and the Word are omitted. Beloved, to be dedicated to God is to give yourself to prayer and the ministry of the Word of God.

ii. Abraham
Abraham also operated in the ministry of prayer and the Word. He always got up early in the morning to stand before God at the place of prayer as a mark of his devotion and dedication to God (Genesis 19:27). He was a man who had a stand with God at the place of prayer. He negotiated with God at the place of prayer for the freedom of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:23-25). This was Abraham at the place of prayer.

Beloved, a stand with God at the place of prayer and the Word is a confirmation of brutal dedication to God.

REMEMBER THIS: A stand with God in the place of prayer and the Word is a confirmation of brutal dedication to God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to dedicate and devote your life to God in fellowship and in service.
  2. Follow the steps of dedicated people by praying and studying the Word consistently.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to be dedicated to You through prayer and the study of the Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: DEDICATION TO PRAYER AND THE WORD OF GOD.

QUOTE: The God-first mentality is what I call an incurable addiction to God; a brutal dedication to God. It is a situation in your life where God is first and last and everything else is in-between. Culled from “21 UNCOMMON KEYS TO FINANCIAL OVERFLOW” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Ruth 4-1 Samuel 3.

REFLECTION: The place you give to God in your life determines the place He gives to you in your world. To have a strong stand with God is to have a strong stand in life. What place will you give to God?

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: The Lord pull you closer into a deeper realm of prayer and the Word in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – The Lord’s Supper

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 22 February 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Lord’s Supper

TOPIC: The Lord’s Supper

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 (KJV)

17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.

21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

KEY VERSE: “After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.” – (1 Corinthians 11:25)

MESSAGE:

Many people today wonder why we should be having the Lord’s Supper. The reason is simple. Jesus Christ was about to die for the salvation of the world, ushering in a new covenant with His blood. And He desired that believers should not forget the import of this event in their fellowship.

The Lord outlined the modalities for the proper observation of the Lord’s Supper. It is to be done with unleavened bread and fruit of the vine, signifying His body and blood offered as sacrifice on the cross at Calvary.

He instituted it “the same night in which he was betrayed”. The church in Corinth had turned the Lord’s Supper into an occasion where the privileged displayed their affluence and all other forms of disorderliness. But the Apostle wrote to set things in order as to how it must be observed. This includes the directive to those that are hungry to eat at home before coming to the church to avoid coming together “unto condemnation”. Also, everyone must examine himself before partaking of it because “he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself…” (verse 29). Many fell sick while some others died for carelessly partaking in the Lord’s Supper.

Each time we come to the Lord’s Table, we must appreciate what it costs for us to be reconciled to God. We must approach the ordinance with solemnity, with hearts full of gratitude to God and with renewed resolve to follow Christ without wavering. It must be an opportunity to ensure that we are living without sin, and are ready for eternity.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
What can hinder you from the Lord’s Supper will bar you from heaven.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Major In The Major

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Monday, February 21, 2022 | Major In The Major

Topic: Major In The Major

Date: Monday, February 21, 2022 [International Mother Language Day]

Read: Mark 10:23-31

MEMORISE: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33)

EXPOSITION

It is very natural and normal for clicks to always gather around wherever the mother hen is, either relaxing quietly somewhere, or walking around. Since the hen naturally has no breast milk to give to her young ones, she caters for them through other means, such as killing insects for them to eat, leading them to waste bins, feeding them with worms, etc. The hen here can be likened to “The way to the Kingdom of God,” while the chicks can be likened to “Christians.” The safety, feeding mechanism, provision, shelter, etc. of the chicks are the responsibilities of the hen. Therefore, the chick feeds well, is protected, lives healthy, prospers and flourishes just by being close and subject to the mother hen. It is not out of place to discuss this on this day which commemorates International Mother Language Day.

Psalms 1:3 confirms that the tree planted by the rivers always prospers and flourishes well, because it is well connected to the source of life and nutrient. Water, in the realm of the Spirit, symbolises life, the Word of God, the Gospel. The gospel gives man needs, but man must seek to fulfil and satisfy the gospel first. There are two things one can run after in life: (1) making impact; (2) making money. Those who desire making impact in life are those money, materials and other valuables run after. However, those who pursue making money, seldom get the money satisfactorily, because of their desperation that makes them needlessly steps on toes of the people they are meant to positively impact.

It is a fallacy to say or believe that those who are seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness must be financially and materially poor. This is because God’s kingdom is not drenched in poverty but in Christ’s riches and wealth. Therefore, those who seek to have and live in this kingdom are blessed with all good things in return. A man of God once said, “Poverty is not purity.” Brethren, stop chasing the worms and insects (riches, materials, etc.) by yourself. Pursue the Hen (the way to the kingdom of God), and all other things you seek will become bonuses. A word, they say, is enough for the wise. Shalom!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, help me to prioritise You and Your Kingdom aright, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, deliver me from ungodly pursuit of the ephemeral things of this world.

3. Father, help our religious and political leaders to focus on the major factors, and to be heaven-minded, in Jesus’ name.

TREM Devotional – In Christ: You Are Born Into Favour

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 21 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – In Christ: You Are Born Into Favour

TOPIC: In Christ: You Are Born Into Favour

“For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.” John 1:16 (AMPC)

Favour means unfairly preferential treatment. And God does not take permission from anyone to favor you. The good news is that God has decided to favor you. People may call it unfair, but that does not change God’s decision to favor you. Favour works to your advantage. In other words, when favour is operating in your life, things work to your advantage. When favor is at work, God allows things to work to your advantage.

Favour is a divine advantage. It means to show partiality towards you. God has decided to show partiality towards you. That is your heritage in Christ. Heritage is a birthright. It is something you are born into just like a prince is born into royalty. As believers, we are born into favor. In Christ, favor is your inherited portion. You see that! Favour is your portion! It is something reserved for you. Favour is something you are endowed with in Christ. It is a divine endowment. Favour is your right legacy in Christ.

Beloved, God has given you favor as a right and He wants you to walk in it. God wants you to leverage on favor. As a believer, you have already received favour. That is what our scripture passage today says, so it is a wrong thing for you as a child of God not to walk in the favor that God has ordained for you. You ought to walk in favor in every area of your life.

You should expect favour daily, you should expect God to divinely orchestrate things on your behalf. Expect God to make things work on your behalf. Even when things are not supposed to work, He rearranges them in your favor to ensure that they work.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Understanding The Tithe

Pastor Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 21 February 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Understanding The Tithe

TOPIC: Understanding The Tithe

SCRIPTURE: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Genesis 28:22.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your financial supply is tied to your tithe.

The tithe has been confirmed to be a major secret for accessing the Blessing of abundance and supernatural supplies.

This makes it imperative to understand the tithe so as to access supernatural supplies.

Now, what is the tithe?
i. The tithe is one-tenth of a person’s income (Genesis 28:22).
The tithe is the tenth part of all that a person earns. It is the one-tenth of your income. So, the tenth part of your income, earnings, salary and inflows belong to God. It should be given to God because it belongs to Him. This is the tithe.

ii. The tithe existed before and after the law
The tithe existed before the Laws of Moses. It existed before the Old Covenant (Genesis 14:18-20).

The first mention of the tithe in the Scripture was in connection with Abraham when he met Melchizedek, the king of Salem.

This can clear the misconception of some people who think that the tithe is all about the Laws of Moses alone. These people erroneously believe that tithe originated from the Laws of Moses. So, they hold the notion that since some of the Laws of Moses, such as women being pronounced unclean after childbirth for a period of time (Leviticus12:1-8) and a woman under menstrual flow should not come to the assembly of the people for a period of time till she is purified (Leviticus 15:19-33), seem to have expired and passed; tithing, being an Old Testament Law of Moses has also passed and expired. That is not true! Tithing predates the Law of Moses as we can see in Genesis 14:20.

Beloved, do not let anyone deceive you. Your financial supply is tied to your tithe.

REMEMBER THIS: Your financial supply is tied to your tithe.

DCLM Daily Manna – Use God’s Gifts Wisely

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 21 February 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Use God’s Gifts Wisely

TOPIC: Use God’s Gifts Wisely

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14:1-25 (KJV)

1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

KEY VERSE: “Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.” – (1 Corinthians 14:19)

MESSAGE:

The arrival of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost marked the beginning of a new era. It was in fulfilment of the Lord’s promises to send “another Comforter”. It also marked the beginning of the “latter days”. The 120 disciples, who tarried in Jerusalem as the Lord had commanded, were all baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Apostle Paul, in our text, gave instructions to the Church on the proper usage of the gift of speaking in other tongues. He counsels the Church to specialise in prophesying to edify the brethren rather than speaking in a language people will not understand except there is an interpreter. A person speaking in unknown tongues will look like “a Barbarian” to an audience that does not understand him. So it is better to speak a few meaningful words that edify than “ten thousand words in an unknown tongue”.

The essence of communication is to convey messages that can be understood. If the message is not clear or understandable, then that essence is lost. In many assemblies, language churches are established to make the message of God clearer to those who may not understand English. God wants us to understand His purpose for us so that we can benefit from His power, mercy and grace.

Speaking in tongues, therefore, is not for showmanship or a mark of high spiritual attainment. Since the mysteries of God may be revealed through tongues, believers are admonished to “forbid not to speak with tongues”, but to ensure it is done decently and in order.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Make your message simple and understandable.

TREM Devotional – Your Heritage Is Favour

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 20 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Your Heritage Is Favour

TOPIC: Your Heritage Is Favour

“Therefore, having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom we have also access by faith into this favor in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5: 1-2 (KJV)

Your heritage is favour. That is where you belong. It is your birthright. It is your benefit. It is your legacy. It is what God has given to you. But unfortunately, many do not understand it. You see, understanding is very important in our work with God. Understanding is very critical. You see, there are things that we already have as children of God. Ignorance is one of our challenges. Your mountain is your failure to understand what God has already made available to you. Your failure in life is a result of what you have that you do not value. You do not know that it is available to you. How can you value what you do not know you have.

According to Psalm 49:20: “Man that is in honor, and understand not, is like the beasts that perish.” (Psalms 49:20 KJV). When you don’t know it, it is like a beast that perishes. Our defeat is a result of ignorance. We must, therefore, seek to understand what has already been done. We have a responsibility to search the scriptures to discover what has been made available to us in Christ.

In Christ’s favor is part of your heritage. When we talk about favor, we are talking about divine approval. Favor is God giving you preferential treatment. Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. Favour also means divine acceptance. In Christ, God has divinely accepted you. If no man accepts you, God the owner of the universe has already accepted you.

The favor of God will terminate the toils, the struggles, the pains, and the frustrations of many years. The favor of God brings divine settlement. I stand in faith with you that this is your moment of divine settlement. The favor of God will bring it to pass.
