Topic: How To Become And Stay Faithful [Tuesday April 11, 2017]
“But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.” (James 5:12)
Many Christians speak from both sides of their mouths. They say ‘yes’ with one side and ‘no’ with the other. You cannot predict them. When you commit something to the hands of some people, you cannot be rest assured. You can never be sure whether they will deliver or not. In life, if your word is counts for nothing, you cannot be anything.
Words, apart from God, are the most powerful thing in the universe. Don’t play with words. God has magnified His words above His name.
“…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Ps 138:2)
Whenever you find yourself feeling unsettled, look for something in the Word of God to say to Him. When you say it, you express your confidence in Him, and you get Him excited.
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please ….” (Isa. 55:11)
After reminding God of His Word, you have to hold on faithfully, and wait for it to bring about your desire. Even this requires faithfulness. You cannot say one thing today, and the opposite tomorrow, and expect to get what you want.
Now, as God’s child, you should have the character of God. If your word is unreliable, you cannot be anything. When you say something, stand by it, and do it. When you are faithful, grace will begin to pursue you everywhere you go.
Words of Wisdom: If your word is unreliable, you cannot be anything.
Confession/Prayer: I will stand by my words. I will stay faithful and attract God’s grace.
