Topic: Life Is A Journey 3 [January 3, 2017]
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
(Genesis 1:2-3)
In Deuteronomy 1, the children of Israel embarked on the journey to their promised land. The bible records that at a point they became tired of life. They became too weak to continue, and so they stayed at Mount Horeb. Why did they decide to stop at Horeb instead of moving forward?
They did so because they suddenly got fed up with fighting for the new life that God promised them. God’s promise is sure as sure can be, but the road to fulfilling the promise is yours to travel. God hasn’t a problem getting you to your desired place as fast as you want. It is just that if He takes you there at the speed you want, beasts at your destination will devour you before you are knowledgeable and strong enough to overpower them (Deut. 7:22)
There are times in life when it seems as if life has rejected you, and so, you get so discouraged that you begin to consider giving up. In fact, sometimes you totally give up.
You may not have food to eat. As a student, your parents may not have the money to pay your fees. But, do not give up just yet. God asked me to tell you that it is not over yet. Help is on the way to you. Your pain is changing to your gain, your shame to fame, your mourning to your rejoicing and your ashes to your beauty in Jesus mighty name.
