You Reap What You Sow ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: You Reap What You Sow  [Saturday 21, January 2017]

“Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley … I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings.” (Jeremiah 21:13-14)

I once heard of a man in Southeast Nigeria who was transferred to another city in the Southwest. Before he left, he asked his colleague and friend in the same office with him to help him take care of his wife and children, since he could not move his family with him immediately. Besides, his children were in school, making things all the more difficult for him. The so-called man he saw as a helper agreed willingly.

A few months later, the “helper” started sleeping with his friend’s wife. Both the cruel helper and the unfaithful wife were to blame. But I blame the man more because due to his weak moral and spiritual values and total lack of self-control, he couldn’t handle the responsibility given to him.

The poor man returned and thanked him for doing a good job, and the unfaithful cheat accepted the thanks. Do you think such a man can go scot-free? It is impossible! The selfish and randy helper thought he had gotten away with it. But one faithful day as usual, he took that same wife of his friend to a hotel and died in the act on top of her. Such an abnormal occurrence was an indication that God turned His back on that man. You can’t get away with sin. Don’t even go there!

The LORD will have mercy on you. If He has turned his back on you already, let the blood of Jesus plead for mercy on your behalf. Mercy will speak for you today.

WORDS OF WISDOM: Weak moral and spiritual values and total lack of self-control can destroy your ability to handle responsibility.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, behold the blood of Jesus and have mercy on me. LORD, let Your face shine on me so that I will see your goodness in the land of the living.
