While the song is dedicated to God, Jlyricz pulls from his own life to craft a story that feels universal. “Sweet Daddy” is inspired by his relationship with his earthly father, a man who, despite his sacrifices and love, was often misjudged and painted unfairly by those around them. Reflecting on this experience, Jlyricz shares, “They almost made me forget my father’s sacrifices, but as I grew older, I realized he’s one of the sweetest dads anyone could ask for. I couldn’t let the world’s narrative rob me of the truth.”
