TREM Devotional – Blow Your Trumpet

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 22 July 2025 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Blow Your Trumpet

TOPIC: Blow Your Trumpet (TREM Devotional 22 July 2025)

“But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.” – Judges 6:34 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Gideon was once hiding, afraid and unsure of his calling. But when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, he rose in courage and blew his trumpet, a symbolic act that drew an entire nation to his side. That trumpet blast was not just a sound, it was a declaration. It marked the beginning of his leadership and the rallying of divine purpose.

In the same way, your voice is your trumpet. Every time you open your mouth and declare God’s Word over your life, your destiny, your family, or your situation, you are sounding a spiritual alarm. Everything that came into existence started from “And God said.” And the bible says in the book of 2 Corinthians 4:13: “We having the same spirit of faith, according to as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”

Open your mouth and declare what you believe. Don’t stay silent in the face of opposition. Even God changed Abram’s and Sarai’s names to Abraham and Sarah (Father and Mother of Nations) so they would constantly declare their destiny every time someone called their name. It wasn’t about sounding important, it was about activating faith through confession.

In the Old Testament, trumpets served multiple purposes; gathering people, declaring war, announcing feasts, and summoning divine help. Today, your mouth is your trumpet. When you speak God’s Word, angels respond. When you declare victory, heaven backs you up. A closed mouth is a closed destiny.

Child of God, your journey is designed to be from glory to glory. You were born in glory, you’re walking through glory, and your story will end in glory. Reproach and shame are not your portion. Refuse to accommodate a shortage mentality. Speak abundance. Declare victory. Sound your trumpet boldly!
