TREM Devotional – Don’t Stop Speaking

Topic: Don’t Stop Speaking [Tuesday June 19, 2018]

“A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.” Proverbs 18:20

Beloved, there is something about speaking to yourself every day. Therefore, develop the habit of waking up in the morning and declaring abundance to yourself and over your life. Look at yourself in the mirror and declare that this man is going somewhere. Declare to yourself that whatsoever you touch will increase. Declare to yourself that doors are going to open unto you. Declare that favour is attending your way.

The woman with the issue of blood spoke to herself. For she said, “If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” (Mark 5:28 KJV) She was saying in effect “I am no more dying, I will live”. That was why she was not bothered whether Jesus saw her or not. As far as she was concerned, it was not about Jesus touching her. She just wanted to get there and touch Him. And as she was speaking to herself, strength was coming upon her.

Blind Bartimaeus said “I will no longer be a beggar.” They tried to shut him down, he said “you can no longer shut me down, I am tired of begging”. I will no longer be a beggar. My status must change because no one encounters Jesus and remains the same. So, he cried out to Jesus. When they told him to keep quiet, he could have listened and then complain later. He could have withdrawn into his shell, saying he does not want to be embarrassed. But he knew that neither of the two actions will result in his testimony. I am sure he said to himself: I have been blind for too long to be embarrassed by it. He threw caution to the wind, and not only spoke, he shouted. His shout drew the attention of Jesus.

As you keep speaking, I declare that you will draw the attention of heaven. Your heart’s desires shall come to pass. God will honour your faith and exceed your expectations in Jesus’ name.
