Wisdom For The Day Devotional 5 October 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – God Doesn’t Have A Record Of Your Sins

TOPIC: God Doesn’t Have A Record Of Your Sins (TREM Devotional 5 October 2023)

“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” Isa 43:25 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

One of the greatest disasters that we suffer as a result of the fall and which, unless it is dealt with once and for all, will affect whatever we receive from God is sin consciousness, which the devil planted into us. We are more sin conscious than the good things that God has already made available to us through the blood. We get so attached to sin than what Christ did. If the sins committed by my great grandfathers are still haunting me, then Jesus did a poor job of redemption. Then there is no point in trying because we are a failure even before we started. Once the devil plants such a mentality in you, you can never be bold. You will always be living in condemnation.

The devil knows that as long as you keep remembering your mistakes and failures you will not be able to resist him. God himself has blotted out your transgressions for His name’s sake and He does not remember them again. There are three people who remind you of your sins: the devil, you, and the people around you. But God will not remember your sins. The book of Jeremiah 31:34 says “And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”(KJV). Don’t let the devil flaunt your sin before you and thereby stop you from receiving from God.

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” (Ephesians 1:7 KJV). We are forgiven because of the blood. All records are swiped out. His blood removed the sins of the entire world. When God looks at you, He sees you covered up with the blood of Jesus. Knowing that you have been completely forgiven destroys the power of sin over your life.
