TREM Devotional – God’s Gift Of Righteousness

Topic: God’s Gift Of Righteousness [Tuesday July 3, 2018]

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21

What an awesome love! Christ has saved everybody in the world. But now, it is left for every man to receive the gift. You must receive what has been offered. The fall of man has so messed up our minds that we find it difficult to receive what has been freely given to us. He who knew no sin became sin. The reason he became sin is for us to be made righteous. We have been made to receive His own righteousness as a gift. We have been made to have right standing. He became sin for us so that we can have His DNA in order to stand before Him with no sense of inferiority, condemnation, judgment or guilt. From this awesome position, you come to a knowing that when you rebuke the devil, he will obey you. He became sin for you so that you can stand before him knowing that when you open your mouth in prayers, you’re guaranteed of answers. That is what righteousness is all about.

Listen, why do you think, Jesus cried ‘Father, is there another way for me to pay this price?’ For the first time, He had a taste of sin. And when it dawned on Him what He was going to carry, He asked if there was another way.

So it is an insult to His finished work for a believer, after Christ has paid that supreme price, to turn around and think that he can add to it. The price or the sacrifice you want to pay to satisfy Him is too cheap. It is not good enough. There is nothing under the sun that is qualified to pay for sin. Only the blood of Jesus!

Your blood is stained with sin, so it cannot cleanse anyone from sin. It is only the pure and holy blood of Jesus Christ; the Lamb of God that cleanses from sin. Thank you Lord for the blood! Hallelujah! He became sin so that we can become righteous. What is your problem in becoming righteous? What’s your problem in accepting what He made you?
