Wisdom For The Day Devotional 4 October 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Pray Your Revelation

TOPIC: Pray Your Revelation (TREM Devotional 4 October 2023)

“And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit”. James 5:18 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

In the book of 1 Kings 18:41, Elijah the prophet said to Ahab: “…Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.” As soon as Ahab went, Elijah went to the top of the mountain, bowed his head, and began to pray his revelation. When you know where you are going and you’ve seen the revelation, pray it. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. The weapons you have don’t have a margin for failure. They don’t fail! “They are mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV). The weapons of prayer can penetrate any stronghold.

The Bible says that the righteous shall inherit the earth. We are the righteous. What does righteousness mean? It means I have access to the throne room of God. In other words, when you pray, you pray knowing that it will be answered. You are certain to receive answers to your prayers because you are in Christ. The truth of the matter is that when you start praying God does not see you, He sees Christ and Christ’s prayer must be answered.

The Bible tells us that as Elijah kept praying. He sent his servant to go out and check the horizon. What does that mean? Expectation! It is wrong for a believer to expect the worst from his life. It is an insult to the finished work of Christ. Elijah told his servant to go look but he came back and said he didn’t see anything. Elijah said go again. Don’t stop because you didn’t see anything. Keep going until the result manifests, your expectation must produce. Don’t be frustrated because they turn you down once. Go back!

Finally, the servant came back and said I saw a little hand. God honored the prophet’s declaration. Every word spoken that had been spoken over your life will no longer hang.
