TREM Devotional – Remember Not The Former Things

TREM Devotional

Topic: Remember Not The Former Things [22nd August 2018 Daily Devotional]

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” Isaiah 43:18

The ‘former things’ here is not just referring to the things of old. It’s also referring to good things because success can sometimes become a problem. You will stop succeeding the day you say you have succeeded and so you are comfortable and you do nothing. As long as you are breathing you need to set new visions. Even God does new things. Don’t ever get to a point where you are easily satisfied because I know He still has better things in stock for you. No matter how high you have climbed on the ladder of life, there is still a higher place and no matter how low down the ladder you are, God is ready to bring you out no matter the obstacles.

Our text says ‘Remember ye not the former things’. Why should I forget the former things? Behold God is about to do a new thing in your life and now it shall spring forth. The word “spring forth” here means it will break every barrier. You are unstoppable, and you are coming to the limelight. When God says, He will do a new thing; it is new, not refurbished, not renovated, not adjusted, it is something that you have never known.

Paul was writing to the church in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature”. Stop looking at yourself based on your family background, anyone who has received Christ as Lord is in-Christ and anyone in-Christ is a brand-new specie of being that has never existed before. You are different: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. That means you will make progress. You are a supernatural being. God says don’t worry, keep on being in Christ, I will take care of things. Expect a brand-new thing in your life every day; expect it in your health, expect that where you have failed before you will succeed.
