TOPIC: Set Your Mind On Things Above (TREM Devotional 14 January 2024)
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth”. Colossians 3:1-2 (NKJV)
MESSAGE:
The devil is a loser! There is no way he can win! The question is, when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith? In other words, in the midst of the present-day challenges and the lies of the devil, shall He find people who are still carrying the fire they used to carry? Staying on fire and remaining steadfast require that you set your mind on things above so that you can set your life in the right direction. If you fail to set your mind on God and the things of God, your life will go in the wrong direction.
The word ‘set’ means to put something or someone in a particular place. It means to place in a particular position or posture. It means putting it in a proper position, in order or condition for use. It also means to fix without allowing it to move in any other direction, settle resolutely, establish, or cause to take a particular direction.
You must settle this one thing in your spirit once and for all because your life is headed toward the direction of your thoughts. If you don’t like where you are going, then take heed of your thoughts. Jesus said: “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” John 17:14 (NKJV). Christ gave you His Word so that you might have joy so that they won’t go crazy, and so that you will not be depressed with what is happening around you.
You are responsible for aligning your thoughts with the Word that Jesus has given us. That is what you should set your mind upon. And that is the only thing that can guarantee your victory.
