TREM Devotional – Walk By Faith And Not By Sight

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 20 July 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo: Walk By Faith And Not By Sight

TOPIC: Walk By Faith And Not By Sight (TREM Devotional 20 July 2023)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight:” 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

The word of God remains unshakeable. Therefore, God expects us to base our judgments and decisions in life on the word of God rather than on the wisdom of men. You must learn to act like Jesus who was asleep in the boat in the middle of the storm. He knew that nothing will happen because he had received a revelation that they would pass to the other side.

The enemy will attack you because of the revelation that you have received, but he cannot succeed. God expects you to walk by faith and not by sight. God expects you to walk by the things you have been told and not by the ideologies of men. According to the scriptures: “…The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17 KJV). Our reality is in the word of God and not in what we see. The book 2 Corinthians 4:18 states clearly: “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

The currency which God has given to us to access the blessings made available by grace is faith. The book of Romans 12:3 declares: “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3 KJV)

God has given you the measure of faith that you require, therefore, we are all without excuse. What you do with your measure of faith is your own business. You can either nurture it and develop it or you can let it go dormant due to lack of use. As long as you fail to use the faith that God has given to you, you will not produce. If you exercise your faith, it will be energized and strengthened, if you fail to exercise your faith, it will become weak and unhealthy.
