Wisdom For The Day Devotional 7 July 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – We Win All The Time
TOPIC: We Win All The Time (TREM Devotional 7 July 2022)
“Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.” 1 Samuel 17:51 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
Goliath was brought down, and David went and stood on top of him. That is our position! Our position is to stand on top of our challenges based on what Christ has done for us. He took Goliath’s sword, the weapon in which Goliath trusted, and cut off his head.
Paul captures the victory of Christ in the book of Colossians 2:15 thus: “He spoiled principalities and powers, and made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it” He made a public display for everyone to see that the enemy of mankind had been defeated.
So, our battle is a fixed battle. We win all the time. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2:14: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place”.
Now…! Not after the battle is won. Now that Jesus Christ has defeated the devil! We triumph always. And we display His love everywhere we go. Now that the battle is won, that is where we come in and for the spoil. Remember that the children of Israel did not fight the battle. But as soon as David finished the battle, they went after the Philistines and they spoiled their tents. “And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines…and they spoiled their tents.” (1Samuel 17:52-53).
That is what is expected of everyone who has received Christ. They arose from doubt, from unbelief, from fear, from intimidation, from manipulation, and distress. They arose and shouted! It was the shout of victory. That is your assignment. Spoil the tents of the enemy and take what God has given to you. Take your promotion! Take your Victory! Take the miracle! Take your breakthrough! It has been given to you through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
