Zeal For The Lord ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Zeal For The Lord  [Thursday March 16, 2017]

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name.” (Hebrew 6:10)

Many things that people do or fail to do cause a disconnection between God’s altar and them. Thank God, re-connection is possible. When I gave my life to Christ, I bought a tambourine and went to various markets alone to preach. God blessed me with a very big voice. The voice, the tambourine, my singing, and dancing all served to attract people, who would gather to see someone they thought was a mad man.

When they had gathered around me, I would use my voice to preach to them for fifteen minutes, make an altar call, and people would come out to give their lives to Christ. After that, I would take a pen and paper and take all the needed information from the new converts. another day, I would go and follow-up on all of them. These activities wont stop me from attending weekly activities. Every Sunday morning, before the start of Sunday School, I would go out to bring all my new converts for the week to church.

From 1974 to 1979, every morning, before I preached in church, I would go out to a secondary school, Nana College, Warri, to preach. From there, in sweat-soaked clothes, I would go straight to church, mount the pulpit, and preached. In those days, we used to have Sunday evening service. So I would preach again in the evening.

Many of the students I preached to then have become great people around the world and every now and then, I run into some who tell me things that bring tears of joy to my eyes. Tell me why I wouldn’t be what I am today.

You can be like me. Go out there and let the world see your fire burn with ferocious intensity.

WORD OF WISDOM: Sow in tears today and reap tears of joy tomorrow.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, set my heart on fire for you. Remember my labour of love and reward me accordingly.
