Go And Work ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Go And Work [Tuesday February 14, 2017]

“…and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses…” (Gen.47:17)

A horse represents hard work, wealth, and riches. Joseph gave them bread in exchange for their hard work. Many people would rather live from hand to mouth than work. If you give them a job, they’d tell you it’s not a good one. Hey, any job is better than living from hand to mouth. Any wise person with sound spiritual and mental health and rich values would rather work and earn a stipend than beg to eat. Some people don’t just stop at begging. They dictate what you should give to them. When you give them an amount of money, they ask if you cannot do better.

No matter how much salary is attached to a job, some people would never take it. Even if they end up accepting the job, they will quit it unceremoniously. They act that way because their ability to work like normal human beings has been exchanged with an unending desire to beg. The exchange took place on an evil altar.

The Apostle Paul said that “if any would not work, neither should he eat” (2 Thess 3:10). While it is acceptable to give to the needy, it is unwholesome to continue to indulge those who can work but wouldn’t want to find something to do. Everybody must be encouraged to find work and do the work committed.

In the name of Jesus, I take authority over any strange altar where your desire to work has been exchanged for a desire to beg and live from hand to mouth. I challenge that altar, set it ablaze, and destroy it, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

WORD OF WISDOM: Your stable work is the cable that continually conveys food to your table.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: In the mighty name of Jesus, I pull myself out of that altar where I was made to prefer begging to working for a living.
