Date: Monday, February 28, 2022
Read: Jeremiah 29:11-13
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
MEMORISE: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)
EXPOSITION
Yes, the truth is, your life counts for something! Something greater than all you can imagine! It is easy to just drift along without a purpose. Whether you are a student, a working professional, or a retiree, whether you are a teenager, young adult, an adult, or an elderly, you must not forget that you were made for a purpose, there is a reason God made you. And yes, we are all not perfect, but the Word of God tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psa. 139:13-14)!
You have been made exactly the way God intended you to be, and you were born exactly where He wants you. A lot of people murmur and complain about their lives, and they squander a lot of time, even sometimes, many years doing that and achieving nothing of significance in the end. They complain about virtually everything around them – their country of birth or stay, the weather, the government, their parents and siblings, their jobs, the economy, etc. The worst thing is that, they end their lives not ever enjoying God’s intended abundant life for them. How sad! We don’t want to be like that; instead, we want to live to fulfil our calling, our God-given destiny!
God’s Word tells us in Jeremiah 29:11-13 that God knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us! And when we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him, and in Him, we discover His destiny for our lives. Note that those words were sent to those Jews experiencing pains in Babylonian exile. Exile? Yes! Yet, God had them at heart, and had the best for them, just like He knows and has the best for you.
As you walk with the Lord today, do not be disheartened! No matter who you are, what you have done before, no matter how young or how old you are, how healthy or sick you may be, God has a plan for your life. Seek Him and you shall find Him and His divine purposes for you! Rejoice, your life counts for good!
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Let us pray and thank God for designing good for our lives.
2. Pray that you will not miss God’s eternal purpose for your life.
3. Pray that God’s mercy will help us in rediscovering our missed purposes, in Jesus’ name.
