Free Your Faith ~ Kenneth Copeland

kenneth-copeland

Topic: Free Your Faith [December 2, 2016]

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any. – Mark 11:25

Few people realize just how closely connected faith and forgiveness are. Jesus taught about that connection in His sermon on mountain-moving faith that’s recorded in Mark 11:22-26.

He said, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive” (verses 24-25).

Jesus backed those two sentences up together on purpose. He wanted us to know that releasing those who have wronged us is fundamental to receiving from God. He wanted to impress on our hearts the fact that we cannot have our prayers answered and hold grudges in our hearts at the same time.

Unforgiveness clogs the faith channel and keeps you powerless against the mountains in your life!

If you’ve been praying for something and you just can’t seem to get an answer, check your heart for unforgiveness. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring any grudge that’s hidden there to light. Unclog the channel of faith and you will soon see things you’ve been praying for come to pass.

Be A Positive Influence ~ Pastor William Kumuyi

kumuyi

Topic: Be A Positive Influence [December 2, 2016]

Text: Galatians 2:1-10

Key Verse: “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you” (Galatians 2:4,5).

Four ministers were discussing the merits of various translations of the Bible. One ranked the King James Version best because of its simple, beautiful English. Another liked the American Standard Version best because it is more literal and comes nearer the original Hebrew and Greek.

The third liked Moffatt’s Translation best because of its up-to- date vocabulary. The fourth minister was silent when asked to express his opinion. He replied, “I like my mother’s translation best”. The other ministered wondered what he was driven at. “Yes”, he replied”mother translated the Bible into everyday life and it was the most convincing translation I ever saw”. What a positive influence the mother was to this man who later became a minister of the gospel! Paul the apostle was an uncompromising minister of the gospel who relied on the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit.

He was so consistent in his preaching that the Christians at Antioch saw the need to compliment his ministry by giving him Barnabas and Titus to be his companion. He preached Christ as the Saviour to the Gentiles and to the Jews. He emphasised on His vicarious death as the only remedy for the sin of man. His message was to the generality of the Gentiles and to people of high reputation to whom he expounded the truth without fear of persons. Paul was a positive influence who boldly resisted the negative influence of some so-called brethren who attempted to make his converts among the Gentiles put their trust in circumcision, instead of trusting on the finished work of Christ on Calvary for their salvation.

To make a positive impact today, we must be uncompromising in the preaching of the gospel. Many so-called Christians today are not abiding in the truth of the Bible. We must identify them, avoid and resist them, so as to keep the Church of Christ holy.

Thought for the day: When light shines, darkness is banished.

For His Own Pleasure ~ Pastor E.A Adeboye

Topic: For His Own Pleasure [Friday 2, December 2016]

Memorise: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

Read: 1 Peter 2:9-11 (KJV)

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Bible in One Year: Exodus 12:43-14:31, Psalms 114

MESSAGE:

Bible records show that God is not passive about His creation; He is dynamically involved in everything that happens in the universe. His interest and involvement can be seen in the history of Israel and in the ministry of Jesus Christ. In the present age, God’s activities and operations can be seen in the lives of believers and the Church. The Bible projected this in Colossians 1:16;

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

Revelation 4:11 further states that all things were created for God’s pleasure. In Moses’ story, God divinely chose the burning bush, after looking through all the available bushes around, He found pleasure in that particular one and decided to use it, just as He decided to locate the Redemption Camp on its present site. If I had been given the privilege to determine the location of our camp ground, it would never have been in its present location. I would have preferred a location much closer to Lagos. For those believers who obtained their spouses from God, if asked to make that choice personally, they most likely would have chosen someone else and would have missed God’s divine direction. Has the Lord chosen for you on any matter? Appreciate Him for His choice and go with that choice.

God is very much in the business of directing human affairs, and your choice in any matter can never produce a better result than His. God’s choice may not look like the best when human reasoning is applied. Whenever God chooses somebody for an assignment, it does not necessarily mean the fellow is the most qualified. In fact, usually, God chooses the least qualified so that flesh will not rob Him of His glory. However, when it pleases God to choose someone for a purpose, several activities begin to follow in quick succession, just as the choice of the burning bush culminated in the death of many Egyptians and the release of the children of Israel from slavery. Because the Lord has chosen you to be an heir to His heritage, He will cause all things to work in your favour to the fulfilment of your destiny in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point: Father, please let Your mercy and favour locate me today in Jesus’ name.

Success By The Spirit ~ Pastor Chris Oyakilome

pastor-chris-oyakhilome

Topic: Success By The Spirit [Thursday, December 1st]

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6).

Success in life and in any endeavour isn’t in anything that one’s physical might or strength produces or can produce; true success is in the Spirit and by the Spirit. It’s not about something you’re doing or not doing; it’s about your relationship with the Holy Spirit; that’s what makes the difference, and that’s the most important factor for your success. The Bible says, “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy” (Romans 9:16).

Life is spiritual. Until and unless you walk in the realm which God has brought you into, and function at that level, life will be for you a hard journey. You’ll be making efforts in vain. But if you’re in a passionate, intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, He’ll breathe on everything you do and see to its success.

The man who’s in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, yielded to Him for guidance and inspiration is the one described for us in Psalm 1:3: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” The Holy Spirit is your guarantee for a life of absolute, unending success. He’s the One that glorifies your life and brings you into favours and promotions, and opens doors of blessings for you that no man can shut. He’s all you need.

Let the glory of Christ, resplendent in your spirit and exuding from you, be the attraction in your life. Abide in Him. He’s everything you need. Remember the words of Jesus, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7).

PRAYER

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in my life, who causes me to do and walk in your perfect will. I experience, even now, the supply and ministry of the Spirit to be effective in the ministry of the Gospel, communicating your divine presence to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Study: || Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. ||

|| John 15:4-8 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. ||

Why Are You In The World? ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Why Are You In The World? [Thursday 1, December 2016]

“…To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world…” (John 18:37 )

For every human being born into this world, there is a purpose. Today, I see men and women, who will change the world, become directors of industries, become voices to their communities, control the wealth of nations, and shake the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

You are not a mistake in this world; God puts you here for a purpose. So take your eyes off that trouble. Seek and live for the anointing upon your life. You are a man of destiny and woman of destiny, God has not finished with you.

In Isa 6:9 KJV God said to Isaiah “…Go, and tell this people…” in other words, Isaiah your destiny from the beginning is that you are a voice to the nation of Israel. I want you to read this seriously. There is a purpose for your life. Be rest assured that God has already started dismantling you now by the Hammer of his word and with the same Hammer, he is making you a wonder to many. Indeed your troubles are over.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father Lord, the purpose why I came to this world shall be fulfilled; I shall be a voice to this nation, in Jesus name Amen.

WORDS OF WISDOM: God put you here for a purpose. Your purpose will define your existence.

Moving Forward Or Slipping Back? ~ Kenneth Copeland

kenneth-copeland

Topic: Moving Forward Or Slipping Back? [December 1, 2016]

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. – Hebrews 2:1

It’s happened to all of us. We get a little of the Word of God under our spiritual belts. We have a few victories. Our lives are going great for the first time in years. Then suddenly we slip and it all falls apart. We find ourselves having to start all over again.

That’s what happened to the people the book of Hebrews was written to. They made such great spiritual progress that they got to the place where they should have been teachers. Then they slipped back so much, they needed baby food again. (See Hebrews 5:12.)

What caused them to fall so far? They let other things get in the way of their faith. They let the promises of God slip, so they slipped.

That’s happened to a multitude of believers in the last several years.

“Well, Brother Copeland,” they said, “we’re tired of that faith stuff.” Or, “We just don’t have time to spend that much time in the Word.”

They’ve turned their attention away from the promises of God. It’s not that they didn’t believe them anymore. It’s just that they directed their attention to other things. They let their Word level drop and since low Word level equals low faith level, they soon began suffering defeat in areas where they once had victory.

Don’t let that happen to you. When things are going well, don’t just ride the tide of God’s blessing. Dig deeper into what God has for you. Give more earnest heed to the promises of God. Concentrate on moving ahead, on becoming so strong in the Spirit you can not only get your own needs met, you’ll meet others’ needs as well!

Remember: Low Word Level = Low Faith Level = Slip.

Don’t get so busy enjoying today’s victory that tomorrow ends up in defeat. Look into the things you’ve learned. Give the Word more of your attention—not less. Keep moving from faith to faith. Instead of trying to trip you up, Satan and his bunch will be crying, “Oh no, that faith man is coming after us again!”

Certainty Of Reward ~ Pastor William Kumuyi

kumuyi

Topic: Certainty Of Reward [December 1, 2016]

Text: Revelation 22:10-21

Key Verse: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be” (Revelation 22:12).

A good done to others is an investment that will surely ripen at the fullness of time. Our walk and relationship with God executed conscientiously and in holiness are to enable us pass through the golden path into the glory of heaven. The Lord’s promise of rewarding those who endure till the end is not a fascinating yarn; it is a reality waiting to happen.

God did not hide His programme for the end-time from man. The order is given to have the book of the prophesy open, to be perused by all that they might understand it. God deals freely and openly with all. He does not speak in secret but reveals His plan to judge every man according to their works whether it is good or bad. Those who do the commandments of the Lord will have right to the tree of life through the gates into the city. On the other hand, the generality of sinners-dogs, sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, idolaters and all liars – will be banished from entering into the presence of God. They will have their part in the lake of fire. Jesus assured His followers that it will not take long before He will come again to them (Revelation 22:20).

We do not know the day or hour but He is coming soon and He will come unexpectedly. Although this is good news to those who trust him, it is at once, a terrible message for those who have rejected Him and refused to be born again. Even then, grace is still available for all believers to help them overcome all ungodliness and bring them to Christ for a victorious well-pleasing life. Never relent in walking closely with God in righteousness. Someday soon, you will be walking the streets of gold up there.

Thought for the day: It is wise to work towards getting a commendable reward.

His Ears Are Not Dull ~ Pastor E.A Adeboye

open-heaven-2016

Topic: His Ears Are Not Dull [Thursday 1, December 2016]

Memorise: Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. – Job 14:15

Read: Isaiah 59:1-3 (KJV)

1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

Bible in One Year: Exodus 10:21-12:42, Psalms 113

MESSAGE:

Alienation or banishment is a form of punishment in which a guilty person is expelled from a region and forbidden to return. Alienation is commonly used by God in the Bible to cut off sinners from His presence. A good example is the banishment of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden as a result of their disobedience to God. I pray that you will never do anything that will cause God to cut you off from His Presence in Jesus’ name. Isaiah 59:1-2 says:

1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

Christians today are daily challenging God by constantly indulging in acts that are clearly recorded as reasons for alienation in the Bible. For example, some people intentionally dress scantily on the street. Can you imagine somebody purchasing a nice pair of trousers, and deliberately using a blade to rip it to shreds before certifying it ‘fit’ to wear? If you cannot clearly spell out what passes as decent Christian dressing for yourself and your household, then you are the one to be held responsible for the loose behaviour and excesses of your family members. This is tantamount to an open invitation to alienation or banishment from the Presence of God, which explains why some Christians suffer unexplained attacks from the devil. The Presence of God departs from such Christians, making them an easy target in the hands of the devil and his agents. May the Lord deliver every child of God in this category today in the Name of Jesus.

Indeed, the Lord’s Hands are not shortened, neither are His ears heavy that He cannot hear our cry for help. Sin is always responsible for alienation from God. In what ways has your weakness, carelessness, and nonchalant attitude contributed to sin and immorality in your family or the Church of God? Repent and make amends today before it is too late.

Prayer Point: Father, please help me to commit myself to a life of holiness and righteousness in Jesus’ name.
