Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Quality Association-A Key To Greater Heights In Life

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 11 August 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Quality Association – A Key To Greater Heights In Life

TOPIC: Quality Association – A Key To Greater Heights In Life (Seeds Of Destiny 11 August 2022)

SCRIPTURE: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you walk with giants, you cannot take dwarfish steps.

MESSAGE:

It has been established that association defines destiny. The association you keep directly takes you to or away from your destiny. The company you keep determines where you will end. So, company is critical to destiny.

Now, one major effect of association is that association determines assimilation and impartation.

Assimilation means absorbing knowingly or unknowingly what the person you are walking with carries. What the person you keep company with carries flows into you consciously or unconsciously.

For example, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego charged each other in maintaining their stance for God by refusing to bow to the image of the king. Peter and John also charged themselves. And if your association is with a person of higher level of unction, it brings impartation to you. Your association with a higher anointed person makes his/her unction to flow down upon you because water will always flow down the gradient.

For example, one reason God has helped us to build a massive structure like the Glory Dome is because of our association with a higher unction, God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo. I saw the foundation of Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland. I saw how the structure was built from the scratch. We once worshipped in that structure when there was no roof on it. So, the Glory Dome is a product of such massive inspiration and impartation.

Beloved, if you walk with giants, you cannot take dwarfish steps. By all means, your steps will become those of giants. And if a giant gave birth to you, you are genetically implicated for height.

Remember this: If you walk with giants, you cannot take dwarfish steps.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Pay attention to quality association.
  2. Reject all negative influences over life.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the place of quality association in destiny fulfilment. Help me to attract and keep positive association Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Salt Of The World

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 11 August 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Salt Of The World

TOPIC: Salt Of The World (DCLM Daily Manna 11 August 2022)

TEXT: Genesis 40:1-8 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.

2 And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.

3 And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.

4 And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.

5 And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.

6 And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.

7 And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?

8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.

KEY VERSE: “And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?” (Genesis 40:7).

MESSAGE:

The real litmus test of the Christian is not his exploits within the confines of the church building or when he finds himself amidst other believers. Whether in the temple or outside it, Christians are to offer excellent service to the Lord at all times. God’s enduring charge is that His disciples must be the salt and the light of the world, and not of the church alone.

Thrown into a dungeon as a common criminal for rejecting a woman’s proposal to be her sin partner, Joseph maintained his probity by retaining the light and salt in him. Waking up one morning, he found two fellow prisoners without the joy and life that salt and light offer. They were filled with the sadness and darkness. He comforted them with the grace of God in him.

Joseph was in the same dreary condition as the two men. He too could look mournful. But he was not. What was responsible for his cheerful outlook? His connection to God gave him the salt and light Jesus spoke of. The believer must be salt and light to a hurting and dark world by preaching the love of Christ and living like Him.

When we are the salt and light of the world, we do not become part of the throng complaining bitterly about the socioeconomic and political conditions around us. We do not allow them to drag us low to the point of carrying placards in the streets to castigate the government of the day. Instead, like Joseph, we reveal the joy of salvation in us and show them the power of the God who can turn things around for their good.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Without Christ, the world is a deep pit of darkness and bitterness.

TREM Devotional – You Are Standing On The Platform Of Victory

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 10 August 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – You Are Standing On The Platform Of Victory

TOPIC: You Are Standing On The Platform Of Victory (TREM Devotional 10 August 2022)

“For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ”. Romans 5:17 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Reigning in life is your heritage, even as you look unto Jesus. He who knew no sin became sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ. Stop looking around you to see what is happening. Rather, focus on what has been accomplished on your behalf in Christ. No matter what the enemy has fashioned against you, you are coming out of it. God, who has begun a good work in you, will finish it. Stop worrying about where you are now. You are a work in progress. Stop calling yourself what God has not called you. Don’t repeat the sin of Adam. You are God’s child. You are the righteousness of God. You are a new creation. You are more than a conqueror.

Whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven. What you loose on earth is loosed in heaven. You have the authority to trample upon the power of serpents and scorpions and overall the ability of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. You have been crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, you live, yet not you, the life you live now you live is by the faith of the Son of God, who loved you and gave himself for you. Christ in you is the joyful and confident expectation of glory.

Fear not! I don’t care what the enemy has planned, fear not! You are coming out with victory. You are coming out with spoils. For whosoever is born of God overcometh the world; for this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. For greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Just as hell could not stop the resurrection of Jesus, no power can stop you. You are unstoppable. You are unkillable. It doesn’t matter what your experiences are now, your future is determined in Christ. You will come out with testimonies.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Irrecoverable Loss

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 10 August 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Irrecoverable Loss

TOPIC: The Irrecoverable Loss (Seeds Of Destiny 10 August 2022)

SCRIPTURE: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The death of a sinner is an irreplaceable, irrecoverable, irreversible eternal loss.

MESSAGE:

It has been confirmed from Scriptures that one assignment God gave every believer is the assignment of soul winning.

Mark 16:15-16 says,
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Now, one reason why we must win souls is that the loss of a soul is an irreplaceable, irrecoverable and irreversible loss, both to God and to mankind. It is an eternal loss to God anytime a sinner dies.

The Scripture gives us an account of the conversation between Abraham and the rich man. The rich man died and went to hell while Lazarus also died and went to Abraham’s bosom in Heaven. When the rich man saw the reality of hell, he pleaded with Abraham to send Lazarus to preach to his brothers on earth so they didn’t end up in hell like him (Luke 16:19-31).

The meaning is, the death of a sinner is an irrecoverable eternal loss. When a man dies, mercy expires. Mercy exists as long as time exists. When people close their eyes in death and they are found on the other side of eternity, mercy has expired. Hence, it is very important for us to go out for souls to win them for the Lord. So, make up your mind to rescue the lost for God.

Remember this: The death of a sinner is an irreplaceable, irrecoverable, irreversible eternal loss.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Refuse to watch sinners perish in their sins; determine to go for souls.
  2. Do it now. Do not procrastinate.

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from being guilty of the blood of sinners; give me the grace to preach to them. I ask for Your Help to establish them in Your House, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – God Watches Over The Faithful

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 10 August 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God Watches Over The Faithful

TOPIC: God Watches Over The Faithful (DCLM Daily Manna 10 August 2022)

TEXT: Genesis 39:16-23 (KJV)

16 And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.

17 And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:

18 And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.

19 And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.

20 And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

21 But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.

23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.

KEY VERSE: “But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison” (Genesis 39:21).

MESSAGE:

True pilgrims here on earth do not need to be shown a glimpse of the great rewards awaiting them in heaven before they decide to take a firm stand to be on the Lord’s side, even in the midst of fiery challenges. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not have to know the eventual outcome of their refusal to accede to the heathen cravings of the royal court. It did not matter to them if they incurred the anger of the powerful. What counted more was to please God.

Joseph also had this rare respect for God’s laws when confronted with a choice between riches drawn from sin and the gains of godliness. He opted for the latter, without knowing what would become of him. The anger of his master’s wife, propelled by her equally incensed master, Satan, came upon him. Prison was his portion, for “choosing rather to suffer affliction…than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season” (Hebrews 11:25).

God shows up wherever persecution leads the fervent believer. He made Joseph to prosper in jail and He brought him favour before the keeper of the facility. He became the keeper of the jailhouse and impressed the inmates with his godly comportment.

Our faith in the Lord is for all seasons. Whether in foreign lands or at home, God expects us to be worthy ambassadors for Him and stand out from the sinning multitude through our meekness and holiness. He does not expect that on either occasion we yield to the pressure of persecution or the tempting advances of the likes of Potiphar’s wife.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Heaven relocates to wherever God’s faithful servant is transported.

TREM Devotional – His Sacrifice Is Enough

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 8 August 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – His Sacrifice Is Enough

TOPIC: His Sacrifice Is Enough (TREM Devotional 8 August 2022)

“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”. Hebrews 9:11-12 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Jesus is not going to die again. He died once to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, but not to deal with our sins. Some people say all sorts of things. Some say that He is coming to deal with us and to judge us. And others say not many people will go to heaven. Christ is not coming to deal with our sins because that has been dealt with already. He is coming to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. Are you waiting for Him? Then, don’t be afraid. Wait for Him with joy and expectation.

Christ came and nullified the old sacrifices which were not powerful enough to take away sin. Since God did not want animal sacrifices for the sin offering, Christ came to offer His body for sin.

Jesus canceled the first covenant in other to put the second into effect. For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time. Through His sacrifice, we are made holy. Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins, but our High Priest, Jesus offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins.

Afterward, He sat down. That is what He is doing now. He didn’t sit down because He was tired. He sat down because it is finished. He sat down because His sacrifice is enough! He sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There He waits until His enemies are humbled and made footstools under His feet. That is our assignment. Let’s go and get this job done. Let’s go and put these enemies of God under His feet. We have been authorized to do so.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Your Labour In God Is Not In Vain

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 8 August 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Your Labour In God Is Not In Vain

TOPIC: Your Labour In God Is Not In Vain (Seeds Of Destiny 8 August 2022)

SCRIPTURE: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your service in the Kingdom of God is not a waste.

MESSAGE:

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that every labour for God has rewards. God is not a user of men but a Rewarder of men.

1 Corinthians 15:58 says,
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

This means, your prayer labour, giving labour, or soul winning labour is not in vain in the Lord.

The New Living Translation of the Bible puts 1 Corinthians 15:58 this way:
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Look at how the Amplified Bible Version renders it:
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].

Now, this is how the Good News Translation renders the same Scripture:
So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless.

Beloved, your service in the Kingdom of God is not a waste. Your fasting, prayer, evangelism, giving, or any other form of service in the Kingdom of God is not in vain. There is nothing you do for God that is useless.

Remember this: Your service in the Kingdom of God is not a waste.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Always remind yourself that your labour in God is not in vain.
  2. Make up your mind to be committed to God and to His Kingdom.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for assuring me that my labour in the Kingdom is not in vain. I ask for the grace for greater commitment in Your service, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Abiding In The God Of All Ages

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 8 August 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Abiding In The God Of All Ages

TOPIC: Abiding In The God Of All Ages (DCLM Daily Manna 8 August 2022)

TEXT: Joel 2:21-32 (KJV)

21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.

22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.

23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.

25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

KEY VERSE: “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” (JOEL 2:28).

MESSAGE:

A young man who had received Jesus Christ as his Lord after years of being an atheist once visited an elderly chieftain of his former association. Returning home, the erstwhile atheist wondered what would be the fate of the godless in time of severe challenges or grave crisis threatening the whole of humanity. Where would such people hide? In the same philosophy and institutions that have continued to fail man?

But this man enjoying a new life as a Christian knew where to run to: the everlasting God who has promised His best to those who trust Him. Through His servant Joel, the Lord arrays an assembly of blessings for men and women of all ages who would put their trust in Him. He asks nature and the beasts of the field to rejoice and not to fear. He turns to His people and assures them of His plan to supply their needs and restore all they have lost such that “my people shall never be ashamed”.

The Lord’s promises were not to be fulfilled in Joel’s day only. God, being the Lord for all ages, cast His sights to the distant future and beyond to capture our age to reach to when “the terrible day of the LORD [would] come.” The mercy of heaven will still suffice then because He speaks of pouring His Spirit upon all flesh to enable young believers receive visions like prophets of old.

Unbelievers cannot enjoy these precious blessings as a result of their rebellion. To be partakers of these blessings, they must repent and forsake their sins because the invitation has an expiry date, when “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The God of all ages can also sail His people through all storms.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
John 19-21

Prayer Points:

  1. I hereby reject all forms of fear and anxiety and trade them for the joy of the Lord.
  2. Lord, give me the Spirit of faith that will always believe your word and claim it at face value.
  3. Lord, in mercy, restore unto me all my years wasted and blessings lost and wasted according to your word.
  4. Lord, let the Spirit of fire and faith chase away all the spirit of fear, unbelief, anxiety and despondency in any of your children.

HYMN: Standing on the promises. (GHS 243)

TREM Devotional – Your Redemption Is Guaranteed

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 7 August 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Your Redemption Is Guaranteed

TOPIC: Your Redemption Is Guaranteed (TREM Devotional 7 August 2022)

“But the rulers of this world have not understood it, if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.” 1 Corinthians 2:8 (NLT)

MESSAGE:

If the devil ever knew that God was going to pull off a master’s stroke that would bring permanent deliverance for mankind, he wouldn’t crucify Jesus. If he knew that through the death of Jesus, victory was going to come; if he knew that through death, there will be multiplied billions around the world that will receive Christ as Lord; he would not have pulled that stunt. That is why I know that every stunt that he has pulled in your life is turning around for good.

In the book of Colossians 1: 27, the bible declares that “…Christ in you is the hope of glory”. That means confident and joyful expectation of glory. The book of Hebrews 9:11-12 says; “but Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his blood he entered in once…” Jesus is not repeating the sacrifice. It is a once and for all sacrifice that provided access into the holy place which had been locked down all through the years until He came. No one enters the holy of holies except the high priest, once every year. But Jesus came in and entered just once and the veil of the temple was broken, so that we can now have unhindered and unrestricted access. He entered to obtain eternal redemption for us. It is not temporal. Our redemption is eternal. It is guaranteed and assured. We have an eternal inheritance. Some packages came with our redemption: The things that accompany salvation.

Stop being afraid and wondering about your future. Your future is secured. God has covered your past, present, and future. He has obtained eternal redemption for you Your story will not end in shame. It will end in glory.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Blessing Of Being A Channel Of Blessing

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 7 August 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Blessing Of Being A Channel Of Blessing

TOPIC: The Blessing Of Being A Channel Of Blessing (Seeds Of Destiny 7 August 2022)

SCRIPTURE: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: Genesis 12:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One way to remain permanently blessed is to remain a channel of Blessing.

MESSAGE:

The Scripture makes it clear that it is the Will of God for His children to exist in the realm of enviable Blessing. God’s Purpose for His children is for them to become channels of Blessing.

According to our anchor Scripture, God seemed to have told Abraham, “If you are ready to be a blessing, I will bless you. If you want to be a flowing river, your river will not dry”. The truth is, one way to remain permanently blessed is to remain a channel of Blessing.

Now, the question is, what are the categories of people that God wants us to be a blessing to?

  1. Being a Blessing to the Kingdom.
God wants us to be a Blessing to the Kingdom. David made up his mind not to give sleep to his eyes until he became a blessing to the Kingdom of God (Psalm 132:4-5). And that decision brought him to a realm of unstoppable blessing.
  2. Being a Blessing to the Poor.
In Genesis 14:14, Abraham raised other people’s children in his house. He trained and armed them. No wonder he was a blessed man.
The Lord will always deliver anyone that blesses the poor (Psalm 41:1).
  3. Being a Blessing to the Family.
If your parents eat from you and bless you, no witch can curse you. If your wife and your children eat from you and bless you, no devil can reverse that blessing.

Ephesians 6:1-2 says,
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

Obedience is different from honour. To obey your parents means to carry out their instructions, but to honour your parents means to communicate value, appreciation or to give them of your resources. It is a doorway to the Blessing.

Beloved, determine to remain a flowing river and you can never run dry of the Blessing.

Remember this: One way to remain permanently blessed is to remain a channel of Blessing.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Refuse to allow the Blessing of the Lord to end with You.
  2. Be a Blessing to others.

DCLM Daily Manna – We Shall Laugh Last

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 7 August 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — We Shall Laugh Last

TOPIC: We Shall Laugh Last (DCLM Daily Manna 7 August 2022)

TEXT: Obadiah 1-21 (KJV)

1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

2 Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.

3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.

5 If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

6 How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!

7 All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.

8 Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

9 And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.

10 For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.

11 In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

12 But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

13 Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

15 For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

17 But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it.

19 And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.

20 And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.

KEY VERSE: “For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head” (Obadiah 15).

MESSAGE:

For centuries, Christians have paced almost the entire world warning that a day of reckoning would dawn on the entire human race to reveal the fury of a God whose laws have been overturned. Quoting from the Scriptures, they have solemnly declared that it would cease to be business as usual, once their cup was full. They have referred to such supernatural instances as when a great universal flood destroyed man and the localised judgment of fire on transgressing Sodom and Gomorrah.

Through Obadiah, the Lord assured His people that deliverance was near. The Assyrians were tormenting God’s people while the Edomites, Israel’s kinsmen, were also taking part in the plundering of the Holy Land. They took delight in the hardships of Judah. And when the children of Jacob fled from their aggressors, Esau blocked them and sold them into slavery.

Yet, the word of God was that Judah would have the last laugh, no matter how long their persecution. “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” Earlier, the Lord had spoken of a day when the wickedness of the enemy would be returned unto him. God honoured His promise to restore Israel’s possessions as they returned from captivity.

Knowing that we are going to celebrate as triumphant followers of Jesus Christ in the end, we must not fail to preach His gospel despite persecutions and rejection. Christ wants us to continue to display a lifestyle of holiness, even if others do not see it as fashionable in this world of sunken moral values and godlessness.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
God’s final deliverance is only for those who stick to His ways to the end.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
John 16-18

Prayer Points:

  1. Holy God, purge me totally of all tendencies to be proud.
  2. Lord, increase your love and grace in me to always show brotherly love even when it is difficult.
  3. I ask for the fire of the Holy Ghost to be burning in my life and let all my enemies flee before me.
  4. Let, let true brotherly love multiply among brethren.

HYMN: Do something for others. (GHS 119)

TREM Devotional – Christ Is A Merciful And Faithful High Priest

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 6 August 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Christ Is A Merciful And Faithful High Priest

TOPIC: Christ Is A Merciful And Faithful High Priest (TREM Devotional 6 August 2022)

“Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people.” Hebrews 2:17 (NLT)

MESSAGE:

Beloved, do you know that Jesus is not ashamed or embarrassed to call believers in Christ brothers and sisters. He is not embarrassed at all. The book of Hebrews 2:12-14 says, “For he said to God, I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people. He also said I will put my trust in him”. That is, I and the children God has given me; because God’s children are human beings, made of flesh and blood; the son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he be able to die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.” (NLT).

That is the master’s stroke. Obviously, the devil didn’t expect Him to do this. He had to take the form of a human being. And in dying like a human being, He broke the power of the devil.

Notice the words, merciful and faithful High Priest! Not judgmental! Not the one that is waiting to kill you. And that is what the devil doesn’t like. He has always tried to project God as a wicked God. He tells you that God doesn’t like you, probably because you are suffering from a temporal set back. The greatest way you can see that God loves you is that He gave His life for you.

Beloved, I am glad to tell you that Jesus Christ has paid the price. He paid it judiciously. You do not owe any more debt. I declare that you are free to live a good life. You are free to enjoy yourself. You are free to succeed in life. You are free without looking back because God is watching your back.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Commit Your Steps To The Lord

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 6 August 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Commit Your Steps To The Lord

TOPIC: Commit Your Steps To The Lord (Seeds Of Destiny 6 August 2022)

SCRIPTURE: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To access Divine Direction, you must acknowledge the Lord in all you do.

MESSAGE:

Divine Direction is an indispensable asset to a child of God. This is because to hear God is to soar high in life. Light is key to flight. And not to hear God is disastrous to life and destiny.

Now, one posture for hearing and receiving from God is, committing one’s steps in life to the Lord.

To access Divine Direction, you must acknowledge the Lord in all you do. Don’t trust your brain to give you direction. In all the things you do, acknowledge God and He will direct your path.

Psalms 37:5 says,
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

This means, don’t take important steps or make important moves in life without checking it out with the Lord. Don’t make major business, marriage, career and relocation decisions without involving God.

Sometime ago, I heard from Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory, that a business man in his Ministry came to him and said that he had never entered into a transaction in which he lost money. He had never put his money in a wrong business before.

Then Kenneth Hagin asked him, “How is that possible?” And the business man answered, “I have a penthouse in my house that is like my holy of holies. If I have a business deal, I go before the Lord in the penthouse and present it before Him. If I see a green light, I go ahead. If I see a red light, it means it is a no-go area. If I see a yellow light, I wait. For that purpose, I have never put my money in any business that God did not approve”.

Beloved, always commit your steps unto the Lord and He shall direct you.

Remember this: To access Divine Direction, you must acknowledge the Lord in all you do.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Acknowledge God in all you do.
  2. Refuse to put your confidence in your brain, senses or abilities; put your confidence in God.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the pathway to Accessing Divine Direction. I receive the grace to acknowledge You always, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Needless Suffering

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 6 August 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Needless Suffering

TOPIC: Needless Suffering (DCLM Daily Manna 6 August 2022)

TEXT: Lamentations 5:10-22 (KJV)

10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

19 Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

21 Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

KEY VERSE: “Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old” (Lamentations 5:21).

MESSAGE:

Jeremiah has been labelled ‘the weeping man of God’, on account of the elegy he was inspired to write after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians about 600 years before the time of Jesus Christ. Following his moving literary work recorded in the Old Testament as the book of Lamentations, the world coined the word, ‘jeremiad’, to describe any literature that mourns a tragedy. There are few written works that portray the despair and loss Judah suffered at the hands of the enemy.

In our text, Jeremiah had repeatedly warned of the dire consequences of the disobedience of his people to the laws of God. He spoke of their rebellion and rejection of His ways. Jeremiah delivered the Lord’s stern plea asking them to forsake their apostasy or face the disastrous results of a 70-year captivity. They ignored him and threw the Lord’s messenger into prison, threatening to kill him.

Jeremiah did not budge. He preached until God’s word was fulfilled, with Jerusalem overrun and the great Temple, razed. He lamented in the wake of the massive ruin and desolation of his compatriots. It is impossible for the recalcitrant sinner to escape divine judgment.

Still, as he concluded his dirge, Jeremiah asked the loving and compassionate God to put upon His people, the spirit of penitence and supplication, so they would ask to return to Him and again experience the joy of the days of old. The believer ought not to learn of the mercy of his Redeemer only after he has been whipped by the devil when he strays into his territory through the sin of disobedience.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
People suffer needlessly through careless living.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
John 13-15

Prayer Points:

  1. Lord, teach me to always count the cost of disobedience and always make the right choice.
  2. Lord, touch my heart to be teachable, wise and promptly obedient when it comes to your word.
  3. Scan through my heart and attitude and remove every tendency to be foolish.
  4. Lord, visit the unrepentant hardened souls in the church and break their hearts to repentance.

HYMN: Have you counted the cost? (GHS 205)
