TREM Devotional – All You Need Is In The Word

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 11 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – All You Need Is In The Word

TOPIC: All You Need Is In The Word

“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her”. Luke 10:41-42 (KJV)

Jesus, according to the scriptures, went into the house of Martha and Mary. Whilst He was there, Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard His Word but Martha was distracted by much serving. She was interested in things other than the most important Word. And she said: “… Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.” (Luke 10:40 KJV). And Jesus said to her: “… Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things. But one thing is needful…”

Child of God, there may be many things troubling you right now. Maybe many things are challenging your life. Many things are upsetting you and there are a lot of difficulties surrounding you. But one thing is needful. What is that one thing? The Word of God! All you need is in the Word! But many have refused to acknowledge that one necessary thing. Like Mary did, I encourage you to choose the one needful thing. And Jesus called it the good part which shall not be taken away from you.

There are a lot of things that people are busy with and yet the most important thing is neglected. In the face of difficulties and hopelessness, where do we turn to receive hope if not the Word of God? Many believers are just like Martha. Busy about other things. But I have come to present to you the only therapy that can grant you total and complete victory over the forces of darkness. The Word of God.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Do Not Reveal Your Vision To Your Enemies

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 11 February 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Do Not Reveal Your Vision To Your Enemies

TOPIC: Do Not Reveal Your Vision To Your Enemies

SCRIPTURE: And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. Genesis 37:5.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Not everyone in your life is qualified to know the details of your life.

The Word of God the depot of wisdom. The Word of God remains a major place where wisdom can be learnt.

Another avenue by which you can get wisdom is the lives of those who walked with God. Kingdom stars are products of wisdom from the Word.

Now, one of the Kingdom stars from whom we can learn wisdom is Joseph (Genesis 41:38-39). The Wisdom of God led to the enthronement of Joseph as Prime Minister in Egypt. From the prison and as a prisoner, he became Prime Minister because of wisdom.

In our study today, I will give one wisdom key for greatness.
Never reveal your dreams and visions to your adversaries.
Genesis 37:5 says:
And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

Never reveal your dreams and visions to your adversaries.
Joseph dreamed a dream and he told it to his brethren and they hated him yet the more.

That was one of the worst mistakes that Joseph made even though God worked it around for good at the end, but it was a very serious mistake.

Beloved, watch who you talk to. Watch what you tell people because it is not everyone in your life that is qualified to know the details of your life. And it does not matter whether the person is your brother, sister, friend or classmate. Not everyone in your life is qualified to have access to the details in your heart. So, never reveal the important issues of your life to anyone who does not value your person.

REMEMBER THIS: Not everyone in your life is qualified to know the details of your life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Conceal the details of your life from your enemies.
  2. Cherish your dreams; keep them to your heart. They can be revealed at the right time to the right people.

PRAYER: I receive the grace to keep my dreams and visions in my heart. Deliver me from the temptation of revealing the details of my life to my adversaries, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: WISDOM FROM THE LIFE OF JOSEPH (2).

QUOTE: You don’t need to fulfil your vision at the expense of my vision.” By implication, face your vision, I face my vision! Culled from “21 FOOLISH THINGS PEOPLE DO” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Joshua 5-8.

REFLECTION: Every vision requires conception, incubation, and then manifestation. Revealing your vision to your adversaries at conception or incubation levels is tearing open a pregnancy so that all can see what is growing inside you. That is disaster.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: I decree that as you discipline yourself with God-given vision, it shall see the light of day in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. DCLM Daily Manna – Be A Wonder

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 11 February 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Be A Wonder

TOPIC: Be A Wonder

TEXT: John 9:8-12 (KJV)

8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?

11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.

KEY VERSE: “The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?” – (John 9:8)

MESSAGE:

A young man was invited to tell the story of his life in three minutes. Present at the gathering was the crème de la crème of society, including the vice president of his country. The young man, who now works with a multinational company, told a story of how he was raised in a poor home single-handedly by a poor widow-mother. According to him, in his growing up days, they lacked everything that makes life pleasant. Today, the lines have fallen for him in pleasant places. After his moving testimony, the august gathering rose in standing ovation. He simply became a wonder!

The blind man who was healed in our text became famous in his community, though some were reluctant to admit that he could now see. Well, their reluctance may be explained by the fact that the healing was surreal. He had been blind for so many years. Whatever the case, the testimony of the neighbours confirmed that the man could see.

No matter what others think about you, the counsel of the Lord shall stand in your life. Make no mistake about it; not everyone is comfortable with your success or general wellbeing. They would want you to continue to dwell in obscurity but it shall not be.

There are still many Herods today who would not want to hear that “A King is born”. But whether they approve of it or not, you will continue to be a wonder to the unbelieving neighbours. It is time for you to blaze abroad the glory of God. May the Lord make you a wonder.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Every testimony that glorifies God tortures the devil.

[Music + Video] Arise, Shine – Osene Ighodaro

Arise, Shine - Osene Ighodaro

United States-based renowned Gospel music minister, Osene Ighodaro releases a new single “Arise, Shine”, from her project “The Glory Album”.

The song is prophetic for this day and age we are living in. The Spirit of God is saying to the church as seen in Isaiah 60, “Arise Shine, your light has come, and the glory of The Lord has risen upon you”.

Amid the darkness around and gross darkness upon the people, The Spirit of The Lord is risen upon the church and His glory is upon us.

The solution to darkness is light and light shines brightest in the dark. The time is now when we must be “The Light”: The solution to the problems and the answer to the question. It does not matter what the circumstances, or the narrative out there, we cannot lose sight of who we are. Everything that we need has been given to us in Christ Jesus and I believe we are equipped for this.

This is a wake-up call to who we are, awake for Now is the time to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, heal the sick and set the captives free. This is the church’s finest hour. We are not moved by what we see and hear but we hold on to the word of God to see every circumstance bow to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. This light shines in darkness and darkness cannot overcome it.

Pastor Osene is Pastor and Founder Nusong ministries International; Ministering the Love of God through music and ministry. This international ministry offers mentoring, training, and organizes seminars and worship conferences within the United States and around the world. This Psalmist, author, worshipper, teacher, and coach is married to Pastor Peace Ighodaro and they are blessed with three beautiful daughters.

Done It All – Tai Jay

Done It All - Tai Jay

Gospel music minister and founder of God Praiser Worshipper London Radio, Tai Jay GPW is out with a new single titled Done It All.

The single is a praise song of gratitude for God’s finished work perfected in Christ Jesus.

Tai Jay forges further personalising her expression by talking about the benefits that lie in the Zoe life of God. She leaves a note emphasizing that everyone can partake of that joyful life if they accept God’s Son JESUS into their lives.

This is an African contemporary Praise tune which is not uncommon for Tai Jay. The guitar lead brings uniqueness to the instrumentation and lingers on after the song ends. This song will definitely stir up gratitude and praise from within the ears of the listeners.

The anointed song is coming after the release of award winning song “Moribatise” which was accompanied by an official lyrics video in June 2021. The song tells the grass to grace story of Tai Jay. It’s only in order that she follows up with a song of praise and gratitude.

Enjoy and be inspired with DONE IT ALL from the humble stable of God Praiser Worshipper Music.

TREM Devotional – Mercy Is The Heritage Of The Believer

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 9 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Mercy Is The Heritage Of The Believer

TOPIC: Mercy Is The Heritage Of The Believer

“But God–so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us” Ephesians 2:4 (AMPC)

God’s love for you is intense. And He says how do I satisfy this intense love. I will reach out to them in Mercy. God’s Word encourages us to come to God boldly to receive this Mercy. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 KJV).

When you come there, you will obtain mercy and find grace for help at every time of need. Mercy is God not giving to you the judgment, the accusation, and the punishment you deserve. Whenever you see Mercy, it has a twin brother called Grace. Both of them, are born out of the heart of God’s love. This mercy reaches out to you right now wherever you are, Just thank Him for His Mercy. Always thank Him for Mercy. You see, you don’t need to struggle. Mercy is yours by reason of the perfect sacrifice of Christ. Mercy is your heritage! Mercy is yours. Mercy belongs to you.

You don’t know the way you ought to go but the Mercy of God is there. God is rich in Mercy. God’s Mercy is upon that business. God’s Mercy is upon that job! God’s Mercy is upon your children! By reason of Mercy, things will turn around in your favor.

God’s blessing makes you rich and does not add sorrow to it. There shall be no sorrow in your dwelling because of Mercy. Evil shall bow before you and the wicked at your gate. Always remember that in Christ you have obtained Mercy. Therefore, expect Mercy to speak on your behalf in every area of your life. “Which in time past, were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” (1 Peter 2:10 KJV)

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Reality Of Mysteries

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 9 February 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Reality Of Mysteries

TOPIC: The Reality Of Mysteries

SCRIPTURE: Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began. Romans 16:25.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every mystery can be unveiled and dissolved by the Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ.

In the journey of life, I have encountered many people with strange experiences and issues around their lives that cannot be explained. There are situations or circumstances that baffle the imaginations of people. These seem to be unsolvable problems or matters kept in the dark beyond human understanding.

One may wonder why a young lady who is very beautiful and educated, finds it difficult to settle down in marriage. A young man may be a First Class graduate, yet finding it hard to get a job despite his persistent efforts. A young lady who has kept herself pure as a virgin gets married legally but keeps battling with barrenness for many years.

Beloved, you might have tried your best for the condition of your life to change. You may have obeyed every instruction from God’s Word. You have prayed, fasted, embarked on dangerous sacrifices of seed sowing, winning souls for God and obeying God’s Word through God’s servants, but it looks as if the situation remains the same. At times, it even looks as if the more you pray and fast, the more things get harder for you. That devil is a liar!

If you are facing such a situation of life, without a doubt, there is a secret that is clothed in darkness in your life. There is something in your life that is yet to be understood. It is called mystery!

The good news is, every mystery can be unveiled and dissolved by the Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ.

By the Apostolic and Prophetic Mantle of fire upon my life, I decree that every mystery around your life is unveiled and dissolved, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Every mystery can be unveiled and dissolved by the Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Ask God to unveil and dissolve the mysteries around your life.
  2. Properly connect to your God-ordained prophet for the dissolution of your life’s mysteries.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You unveil and dissolve every mystery around my life. Set me free from everything that has kept me down, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: UNVEILING AND DISSOLVING MYSTERIES.

QUOTE: Many people, at several points in life, have wondered the mystery behind the things around their lives. They just wonder what gave the devil the right to appear to them in a dream or do one thing or the other in their life. Culled from “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 31-34.

REFLECTION: What is the mystery with man is clarity with God. What is oblivious to man is obvious to God. Enquiry is key to unveiling the mysteries of life. Nothing is too hid to be uncovered by God.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: Every mystery around your life and destiny be dissolved today in the Name of Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – The Lord’s House

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 9 February 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Lord’s House

TOPIC: The Lord’s House

TEXT: Isaiah 2:1-9 (KJV)

1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:

8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:

9 And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.

KEY VERSE: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.” – (Isaiah 2:2)

MESSAGE:

Mountains are an eloquent and monumental testimonies of the sublimity of God’s creative power. The world is dotted with many significant mountains, some of which have scriptural and prophetic roles. Mountains have also been used figuratively to signify some sacred realities.

When, in today’s text, we read about “the mountain of the Lord’s house” being “established in the top of the mountains,” it is quite symbolic. It points to the institution of Christ’s Church into which people from all nations would flock. Isaiah stated that the mountain of the Lord’s house would be firmly established above every power. Truly, Christianity, with the preaching of the gospel, has positively impacted the world as nothing else has. It has brought sons and daughters unto God from all nations and withstood numerous crushing oppositions.

The prophecy also alludes to the deplorable case of the Jewish church that had given itself to the wickedness of superstition, idolatry and covetousness. Their rejection of Christ, the Messiah, capped it all. The Lord, however, still has a plan for their restoration (Zechariah 12:10).

As predicted, people from all nations are still flowing unto the mountain of the Lord’s house whose door is Jesus Christ. If you have not repented and placed your faith in Him, you have a chance to do so now. This offer may elude you if you delay any longer. If you are already saved, it is incumbent on you to join the evangelism train. You are to use every means at your disposal to tell others about Christ.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Preach Jesus so that the world can flock to Him.

Another previously track was released prior to the album and also one of the standout tracks, Thank You is a beautiful song.

Reigning King is a slow tempo worship tune which a tinge of reggae and Thonian Wek’s unique delivery style which is becoming evident by this third track. Reigning King is a beautiful smooth song.

Nara Ekele is a Regga-Afropop fusion. A mid-tempo groovy tune and Thonian Wek give a very beautiful delivery along with the background vocals.

The album’s title track is the fifth song on the album and from the first few moments of the song, one can tell it is another stand-out track. This song is beautiful on many levels.

The album’s curtains drop with All I Want, the album’s last single before it dropped. The laid-back worship tune is different shades of beautiful.

Thonian Wek delivers a solid project which a veteran would be proud of and for a debut, it is most commendable. Jesus My Pedigree is assured to be a great listen and puts Thonian Wek on a list of artists to look forward for from this point.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Beware Of Excuses!

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Tuesday, February 8, 2022  | Beware Of Excuses!

Topic: Beware Of Excuses!

Date: Tuesday, February 8, 2022

Read: Luke 14:16-24

MEMORISE: And they with one accord began to make excuses (Luke 14:18a)

EXPOSITION

An excuse is a plea made in defence of a failure in responsibility. It is a statement that says indirectly: “spare me,” or “I am not qualified,” or “I am not ready,” or “I am not interested!”

Many men and women, since time immemorial, have been found wanting and pronounced guilty by this singular act. In the case of Adam and Eve, it brought upon them punishment and banishment or ‘disfellowship’ with God (Gen. 3:9-22). It nearly robbed Naaman, the Syrian warlord, of his much-needed divine healing (2 Kgs. 5:9-15). It deferred the glorious salvation of Governor Felix (Acts 24:25-27), just as it denied a certain privileged individual disciple the honour of apostleship (Matt. 8:21). The list goes on, and on, even to our contemporary world.

Today’s devotional text warns us of an equally “large number” of independent, affluent people that may lose God’s grace, honour and kingdom because of excuses (v. 24). These are those who find fault with the commandments of the Lord. They criticise and find a way of rubbishing every set up, administration and obligations of the Church. They are always not available for Christian fellowship and other related essential spiritual demands, while they have time for other things. They are more politically minded than the soon coming kingdom of Christ. Money, to them, now ‘answers all things’!

However, as it is popularly said, “There is no excuse for making excuses!” Stop giving unnecessary excuses in relation to doing the will and biddings of the Lord (cf. Deut. 30:11-15; Rom. 1:18ff; 2:1). Only then can you enjoy His blessings meant for the obedient, not the excuse-givers (Deut. 28:1ff; Isa. 1:18-20).

PRAYER POINTS

1. Thank God for His ability to keep us in His love to the end.

2. Pray for more grace and mercy to be counted worthy of heavenly honour.

3. Pray for CAC Hanson Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.

TREM Devotional – The Love Of God Is Unconditional

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 8 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – The Love Of God Is Unconditional

TOPIC: The Love Of God Is Unconditional

“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him” Luke 15:20 (NKJV)

The parable of the prodigal son is a very familiar story amongst believers and unbelievers alike. Today, I want to draw your attention to some truths from this passage of the scriptures to further strengthen your faith in God’s unconditional, irreversible, and everlasting love for you.

The prodigal son sought to receive his inheritance from his father. He received it and travelled to a distant land where he squandered it on various activities. By his request and subsequent action, this young man displayed a rebellious nature of wanting to live independently of his father’s will. This is the position that many of us find ourselves in today, even as Christians. Unfortunately for the prodigal son, famine hit the land after he was done wasting his resources. And he found himself in a pig’s sty where he had to eat the same meal the pigs were eating to survive. The Bible then records, that after he came to himself, he decided to return to his father whom he had abandoned, not as a son, but as a servant. Now, one would expect that after all that had transpired the relationship between the prodigal son and his father had been totally severed, but then let’s see what happened.

The Bible says that while he was still a great way off, his father sighted him and ran to receive him. What does that tell you? The father had been expecting the return of his son and was always on the lookout for him. That was why he was able to recognize him from a great distance. Put on your imagination! The young man must have been battered, having suffered from the famine and coupled with the stress of the journey he had undertaken to get home. Yet, in that deplorable state, the father was able to recognize him. Not only did he recognize him, he ran to meet him and embraced him, out of compassion. Love reached to him and embraced him. This is a picture of the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Praise – A Key To Increase And Multiplication

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 8 February 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Praise – A Key To Increase And Multiplication

TOPIC: Praise – A Key To Increase And Multiplication

SCRIPTURE: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. Psalms 67:5-6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Praise is key to increase. Nothing can decrease around the life of a worshipper of God.

Praise has been confirmed to be a major key to increase and multiplication (Psalms 67:5-6). Nothing can decrease around the life of a worshipper of God. This is because when people praise God, the earth yields her increase.

To yield means to surrender or give up. That means praise carries a force that makes everything that is yours to be handed to you by all means. The limit of your praise is the limit of your increase; the limit of your praise is the limit of your rise.

In the Book of John Chapter 6, when Jesus was confronted with feeding a crowd of five thousand men beside women and children with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes, He gave thanks to God. He lifted up His eyes to Heaven, blessed the food, gave thanks to God and it multiplied. This means, if you want anything in your life to multiply, the key is appreciation, thanksgiving or praise.

The favour and resources of your life can move to another level of increase by the power of praise and appreciation (Acts 2:47).

When the disciples praised God, they had favour with all men and there was the addition of souls to the church. This is what praise can do.

This means, the limit of your praise is the limit of your favour. When you praise God, the favour on your life multiplies. It is not possible to praise God and not have favour with both God and men. You cannot be locked up in misfortune, disfavour and rejection if you are a genuine worshipper of God.

REMEMBER THIS: Praise is key to increase. Nothing can decrease around the life of a worshipper of God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to praise God continually and unconditionally.
  2. Refuse to give room to depression and discouragement.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the garment of praise to deal with the spirit of heaviness. Deliver me from depression, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 27-30.

REFLECTION: Praise activates the Presence of God. Psalm 22:3. The Presence of God attracts the flow of good. Nothing good can ever be lacking where God is. You want the increase of good around your life? Live in praise.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: As you focus on praise in this season, may your resources and supplies explode in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Know Yourself

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 8 February 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Know Yourself

TOPIC: Know Yourself

TEXT: John 8:12-31 (KJV)

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

KEY VERSE: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” – (John 8:12)

MESSAGE:

The saying, “Know thyself” is mostly attributed to Socrates, the ancient Greek philosopher. Over time, this saying has been applied in different ways that it has acquired a variety of meanings. It can, however, serve as a word of caution or motivation. Self-knowledge will, on one hand, help a person to know his limits, on the other, bolster a person’s self-esteem and nudge him to act accordingly.

Jesus was conscious and unmistaken of who He was. He knew where He came from, the purpose of His coming and what happens to those that follow Him. Although the Pharisees doubted His claim of being the Messiah, their argument did not invalidate the truth of His assertion. He never focused on impressing it upon them that He was the Son of God. Neither did He shy away from telling them who they were.

One major problem many believers of today have is timidity. They find it difficult to tell others that they are born again Christians. It is as if they doubt their salvation experience in Christ. Knowing who we are will enable us take our stand in every situation. Jesus did not lose focus; He was able to explain His mission on earth that His traducers could no more argue.

You cannot truly know yourself until you come to Jesus Christ, “the light of the world”. He said, “he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. Everyone so redeemed has a definite and new elevated status as joint heirs with the Son. This comes with inalienable rights and privileges. Do you know yourself?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
To know yourself, know the Lord.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Attracting God’s Attention

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Monday, February 7, 2022 | Attracting God’s Attention

Topic: Attracting God’s Attention

Date: Monday, February 7, 2022

Read: Luke 18:35-43

Luke 18:35-43  And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.

And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.

And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,

Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.

And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

MEMORISE:

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:39).

EXPOSITION

Being attracted is to turn or look the way of a caller, or an event. It is answering to a persistent demand (Jn. 20:11-16). It is both voluntary and involuntary actions by the attracted. Attraction can sometimes be distraction.

God is ever busy (Jn. 5:17). Yet, He finds time for man in every situation. He even encourages man to approach Him anytime, and that through His only begotten Son, Jesus (Isa. 1:18; 41:1; Jn. 14:14-19). We may always attract His attention by prayers. This is one of the keys that open heaven, and surely attracts God’s attention. Any counsel or knowledge that limits or condemns this exercise is demonic and surely antichrist. ‘Pray without ceasing’, thus says the Lord! The cry of Bartimaeus in our text today (cf. Mk. 10:46-52), is a kind of prayer that halted the Master’s movement.

Another important factor in this regard is persistence. God cherishes persistence. He who seeks the face of God with persistence against every ailing situation and affliction through the Holy Spirit, attracts God’s attention greatly (Rom. 8:26,27). This turned out to be a testimony to the blind man as read in today’s devotional scripture. Jesus’ parable in Luke 18, highlighting the widow’s importunity vividly illustrates the concept on ground. Don’t give up! God is listening!

Moreover, the action of Ahab in 1 Kings 21:17-29 teaches us that humility attracts God’s attention positively. The All-seeing God (Heb. 4:13) saw Ahab’s gruesome murder of Naboth, and was ready to repay him accordingly (cf. Rev. 2:18-23; 22:9-12ff). However, the attitudes of repentance and humility shown by him (v. 29; cf. Prov. 28:13; Lk. 15:11ff; 2 Pet. 3:9) turned God’s attention to him for mercy (cf. Isa. 57:15; 66:2). Pride turns God against the proud (Jas. 4:6,7).

May we find His grace to do those things that would attract His positive attention to us. Amen!

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Thank God for His listening ears to our cries.

2. Ask God for the grace to be importunate in prayers.

3. Pray for the weary and disheartened brethren for mercy and grace to attract God’s visitation again.
