TREM Devotional – Faith Takes What Grace Has Given

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 19 December 2021 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Faith Takes What Grace Has Given

TOPIC: Faith Takes What Grace Has Given

“Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.” Deuteronomy 2:24 (KJV)

When God said to the children of Israel that He had given them Canaan, He did not drive away the giants from that land. That is why the ten of them and the rest who believed in the ten could not take what belonged to them. The Lord had given them the land but He left the giants because He had already given them the ability to drive them out. There are several things that are combined for you to be able to take what grace has made available to you. Grace gives, but if faith does not take what grace has given, it doesn’t mean that grace has not given; you can still not possess it, even though it is yours.

For instance, the Bible tells us in Titus 2:11: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all men.’’ In other words, grace is available to people all over the world; red, yellow, black, white, short, tall, educated, illiterate or wherever you are coming from in any part of the globe. However, the grace has brought salvation but not all men are saved because not all have taken advantage of what grace has given.

We live in a world today where it is vital that as a Christian, you must keep the fire burning. This is very important because it determines whether you will receive or not. It is enthusiasm that fuels pursuit and pursuit brings about results. So, if the enthusiasm is no more, you will struggle to do things you could easily do when you newly gave your heart to Christ. You can no longer pursue anything; you will merely exist. One of the things that make Christianity exciting is that there are activities you are involved in that make your full potential come alive. Otherwise, there will be no excitement, no pursuit and no results.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Benefits Of Waiting On The Lord

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 19 December 2021 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Benefits Of Waiting On The Lord

TOPIC: The Benefits Of Waiting On The Lord

It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory.

SCRIPTURE: In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. Isaiah 28:5-6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory.

Expectation has been confirmed to be a major determinant of experience. Expectation also determines manifestation. What a person expects determines what he experiences.

So, today we shall be looking at four things that we expect from the Lord when we wait on Him in prayer and fasting.

  1. A crown of glory.

It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory. Moses waited on the Lord and the glory landed on him; there was glory saturation on his face (Exodus 34:29).Glory is the manifest presence of God; it is the answer to shame and reproach.

  1. The diadem of beauty.

God beautifies people who spend time with Him (Psalm 50:2).You cannot escape beauty when you wait on God in Zion.

  1. The Spirit of judgment.

When we come before God, we connect with the mantle of Judgment to deal with enemy altars, the powers of darkness and the forces of hell. It was that Spirit of judgment that Elijah had in 1 Kings 17:1. He said, ‘Before God whom I stand…’ and released judgment.

  1. Strength for the battle.

Many people have been victims of diverse battles in life – family battles, ancestral battles, generational battles, etc. And if you are a victim of battle, it is because your strength is not enough (Proverbs 24:10). You gain strength by waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31).

Beloved, I believe as you wait on the Lord and seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13), you shall find Him. And these four expectations shall be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: It is not possible to approach God and not encounter glory.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Take out, at least, a day in a week and wait on the Lord in prayer and fasting.
  2. Make demands on the above-mentioned benefits of waiting on the Lord.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE GLORIOUS FAST

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to wait on You. And as I wait on You, I connect with Your glory, beauty, strength for battle, and the Spirit of judgment, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: James 5-1 Peter 2

QUOTE: No devil can silence the voice of a man or woman who is connected to God in prayer. Culled from “PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER” by Dr Paul Enenche.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The last battle you lost shall be the last forever in Jesus’ Name.

REFLECTION: You don’t waste in life if you wait on God. To know how to fast is to know how to last.

DCLM Daily Manna – Rise Again

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 19 December 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Rise Again

TOPIC: Rise Again

TEXT: Proverbs 24:1-20 (KJV)

1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:

20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

KEY VERSE: “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” – (Proverbs 24:16)

MESSAGE:

The reason many fail in life is not because they made mistakes; but because they fail to learn from their mistakes and convert their challenges into stepping stones to a greater height. When you hit the rock bottom of your life, make it a new foundation to build and plan a better future. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computers, one of the most innovative organisations in the world, said, “People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

The passage today contains several wise counsels and words of encouragement to those who face challenges in life. It starts by warning the pilgrim against imbibing their ways or staying with wicked people to avoid being enticed. The writer encourages believers to utilise the wisdom given to them by God and the counsel of wise men whose experience can be of help in shaping their future. Should they fail and fall as they run the course of life, he encourages them to be confident, rise and try again. Failing and falling are common to man but those who make it to the end are those who have the courage to rise and continue.

We must expect that days of adversity would come to both believers and unbelievers. This is not strange at all. Life is full of ups and downs, mountains and valleys, days and nights, success and failure. When we fail or fall, we should not be discouraged. We should rather take it as a necessary feedback to improve our lives and give us more experience.

The saints we celebrate today who registered much victory through faith and lived wonderful lives made it because when they fell, they rose up again. The Lord is always ready to accept us back but we must not turn “the grace of our God into lasciviousness”.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Be resilient; learn to bounce back when pressed down.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – You Are On A Pilgrimage

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Saturday, December 18, 2021 | You Are On A Pilgrimage

Topic: Saturday, December 18, 2021 [International Migrants Day]

Read: Nehemiah 2:1-6

Nehemiah 2:1-6 In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad before in his presence.

So the king said to me, Why do you look sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart. Then I was very much afraid

And said to the king, Let the king live forever! Why should I not be sad faced when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchers, lies waste, and its [fortified] gates are consumed by fire?

The king said to me, For what do you ask? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

And I said to [him], If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you will send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ sepulchers, that I may rebuild it.

The king, beside whom the queen was sitting, asked me, How long will your journey take, and when will you return? So it pleased [him] to send me; and I set him a time.

MEMORISE:

The king, beside whom the queen was sitting, asked me, How long will your journey take, and when will you return? So it pleased [him] to send me; and I set him a time. (Nehemiah 2:6).

EXPOSITION

Is it not mysterious that one would embark on a journey that one knows not when it would end? Can someone actually be on a trip he/she is unaware of its terminal point? An answer to these is what the Holy Spirit wants to communicate to us today, which commemorates International Migrants Day.

Nehemiah providentially became the kings cupbearer in Shushan palace of the foreign land of Persia that succeeded the Babylonian empire which exiled the Jews (Neh.1v1). The report of the ruins and devastations of his country home, Israel was brought to him, and this made him so sorrowful and his countenance so unattractive that the king had to ask him about his worries (2v2). Having let the king know what bothered him, Nehemiah was graciously granted permission to travel to Jerusalem to remedy the situation as he had wished. When the king asked him, How long will your journey be? And when will you return?* Nehemiah set him a time he would return to his services.

Conversely, you definitely don’t know the actual time your sojourn here on earth will end. Do you know the actual time you will return to Your Maker? It is a mystery that no one knows his death-day, talk less of the exact type and place of death (cf.Lk.12v20). However, we are privy to the reality and certainty of the end brought through death!

Death shouldn’t be dreaded than what happens after it-judgement (Heb 9v27). You are on an assignment here on earth that you don’t have all the time to carry out. There is a set time to leave (Eccl.3v2). We must therefore be fast at what He gives us to do individually and corporately (Jn.9:4).

What do you do with the ‘short’ time (cf.2.pet.3v8)allotted to you? Frivolities and unnecessary distractions have taken so many people time that they no longer have time for God and His purposes for them. Take an exception to this. Invest your life entirely to place God and do well to all men (1 Cor. 10:31). May we end well.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, help me to be wise on my earthly pilgrimage.

2. Lord Jesus, help me to rid myself of all frivolities and distractions that can make my sojourn here a waste.

3. Pray for our aged ones that God should help them to be fully prepared to meet Him at their different appointed times.

TREM Devotional – Deploy The Weapon Of Prayer

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 18 December 2021 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Deploy The Weapon Of Prayer

TOPIC: Deploy The Weapon Of Prayer

“So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees…” 1 Kings 18:42 KJV

Beloved, if anyone is to quit in life, it is not you. Your eyes must be focused on where you are going. You are a new creation and If Jesus did not fail, you cannot fail.

When Elijah told Ahab to go up because of the abundant rain that was coming, Ahab went to eat while Elijah went to the top of the mountain to pray about his revelation. When you know where you are going, after you have received focus, pray your revelation through. Our weapons of warfare are not canal; they do not have any margin for failure. They are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down every imagination and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing to captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

One of the weapons we have is the weapon of prayer. Your prayer can penetrate any stronghold. If you meet with a brick wall in the pursuit of what God has designed for you, it is time to pray. If need be, declare some fast. And when you are praying, believe that you’re not praying in vain. The Bible says that, the righteous shall inherit the earth, which means that we have access into the throne room of God. So, when you pray, know that it must be answered. You do not doubt while praying because you know that by virtue of your status with God, the answer will come.

Can Jesus pray and His prayers will not be answered? Never! So, you too must receive answers. Why? You are in Christ. When you stand praying, God does not see you; He sees Christ and the prayers of Christ must be answered. When you stand rebuking the devil, the devil does not see you; He sees Christ. So, if Christ defeated him before, he knows He will defeat him again.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Beware What You Think!

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 18 December 2021 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Beware What You Think!

TOPIC: Beware What You Think!

If you don’t want to act it, then don’t think it.

SCRIPTURE: For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man…Matthew 15:19-20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you don’t want to act it, then don’t think it.

In life, actions are fuelled by thought. Our anchor scripture confirms that it is thought that fuels action. And action in turn determines manifestation. The Scripture says, For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts… and these evil thoughts flow into murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, etc. So, thought is powerful. To think it now is to act it later. To think it now is to act it with time. To think it now is to manifest it with time. The point is, if you don’t want to act it, then don’t think it.

People commit suicide after they have thought about it for a while; they must have calculated all the options. They allowed depressive thoughts for a while: ‘Why am I alive? What is life all about? Is God even aware that I exist?’ And then they keep on thinking such depressive thoughts until the devil whispers to them, ‘Just take your life.’

So, thought fuels action. Action proceeds to manifestation and manifestation determines outcome. Action also determines reaction. For instance, a person’s thought can move him to act in a criminal way, and then he gets the reaction of it, which is ending in jail.

Beloved, beware of what you allow into your heart. Beware of what you think about. If the outcome of a thought is not what you desire, don’t entertain it. If you don’t want to manifest it with time, then don’t think it at all.

Remember this: If you don’t want to act it, then don’t think it.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Ask for the Holy Ghost to take over your mind.
  2. Stay away from associations, sounds and sights that can suggest defiling, harmful and destructive thoughts.
  3. Immediately eject unhealthy thoughts from your mind.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE POWER OF THOUGHT

PRAYER: Lord, I cover my mind with the Blood of Jesus Christ. I make demands on the Holy Spirit to take control of my mind. I cast out every negative imagination from my mind, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: James 2-4

QUOTE: Thought is a seed that produces harvest after its kind. Culled from “22 LAWS OF LIFE” Vol. 2 by Dr Paul Enenche.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Grace and power to dwell on the right train of thought is released for you in Jesus’ Name.

REFLECTION: Your life of today is the product of your thought of yesterday. Your life of tomorrow is being determined by your thought of today.

DCLM Daily Manna — Half-Hearted Change

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 18 December 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Half-Hearted Change

TOPIC: Half-Hearted Change

TEXT: 2 Kings 3:1-10 (KJV)

1 Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

2 And he wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.

3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.

5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.

6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.

7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.

8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

9 So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days’ journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.

10 And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the Lord hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!

KEY VERSE: “And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made. Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom” (2 KINGS 3:2, 3).

MESSAGE:

A man on getting home from the supermarket where he had gone to purchase some household items was surprised when he opened the carton containing the goods to discover neatly packed currency notes of the highest denomination. Obviously, the shop attendants had handed him a wrong carton. The next day he headed for the shop to return the money.

Meanwhile, confusion and pandemonium had erupted in the supermarket at the close of the day. Nobody could figure out how the proceeds for the whole day could have vanished. The euphoria that greeted his arrival the next day to return the money was indescribable. The management, overwhelmed by his rare honesty, decided to honour him and even called the media to capture the ceremony. He was asked to invite his wife waiting in his car to join the ceremony. Everyone was surprised when the man declined stating that the woman in the car was not his wife and that gesture will get him into trouble and evoke spiral consequences. He confessed that though he was righteous in the area of money, he was not in the area of morality.

Jehoram, the son of Ahab and Jezebel, was evil in the sight of the Lord, though not like his parents. He attempted to clean up the practice of idolatry set up by his parents by pulling down the image of Baal but he did not stop the worship of calves, which Jeroboam started. The change is a depiction of half-hearted devotion as Israel continued in idol worship and abandoned the true God.

Some people claim that it is not possible to be righteous in every sphere of human activity. Obviously, such people do not recognise the grace of God and the impact of His power to live above sin. Complete heart transformation happens only when one surrenders to Jesus Christ in true repentance.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Complete transformation is possible only in Christ.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – The Faithful Giver

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Friday, December 17, 2021 | The Faithful Giver

Topic: The Faithful Giver

Date: Friday, December 17, 2021

Read: Mark 12:42-44

Mark 12:41-44 And He sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury. Many rich [people] were throwing in large sums.

And a widow who was poverty-stricken came and put in two copper mites [the smallest of coins], which together make half of a cent.

And He called His disciples [to Him] and said to them, Truly and surely I tell you, this widow, [she who is] poverty-stricken, has put in more than all those contributing to the treasury.

For they all threw in out of their abundance; but she, out of her deep poverty, has put in everything that she had—[even] all she had on which to live.

MEMORISE:

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. (Ecclesiastes 11:1).

EXPOSITION

God is our Father and He demands from us to serve Him with our belongings. To be real citizen of a certain kingdom, there are many things that will be demanded from you.  Likewise, before you will be qualified to be citizen of the kingdom of God, you have to pay certain prices. Prayer is good, but there are some other things you are expected to do in order to be a bonafide citizen of the kingdom God knows the financial status of everybody  in the kingdom. He is all-knowing God. He knows the end from the beginning (Psalms 139v2). You cannot hide anything from Him. He knows the amount you have in your account, you cannot hide from Him. God wants you to give according to your ability (1 Cor.16v2).

Do not imitate wrong people in your act of giving. Do not be restricted by circumstances around you. Don’t be forced to give. You have to give as you purpose in your heart (2 Cor. 9v7)and as God has blessed you. He wants you to serve Him with all your properties and your life. When you look at the key text for today, Mark 12v41-44, many rich people put money into the treasury but Jesus said that the poor widow was the one that put more than all of these people, because she gave faithfully out of her poverty. According to Jewish tradition, this woman gave more than what a widow could give has offering in the service during that time. The remaining people gave out of their abundance, but she gave all that she had. If you want to give for the work of God, let the giving shake your pocket. Let your offering call the attention of God as that of the poor widow.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, open my understanding to know that you are the Owner of everything.

2. Let it be easy for me to give my totality to you, oh Lord.

3. Lord, give our rich people the capacity to faithfully manage what You have given to them as good stewards to You.
