DCLM Daily Manna – Rest For Your Soul

DCLM Daily Manna

Topic: Rest For Your Soul [DCLM Daily Manna 18 September 2020 Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Hebrews 4:1-16 (KJV)

1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Key Verse: “For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” – (Hebrews 4:3)

MESSAGE:

Ours is an age of speed, business and anxiety. Our business seems to deprive us of necessary moments to reflect on and discover where life seems to be leading us.

In our restive daily toils, we scurry here and there like soldier-ants disturbed in their tracts. High blood pressure, nerve disorders, brain fatigue and many more are what we have than true rest. In this circumstance, the word of God admonishes us, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Paul the apostle warns in our text that the gospel message is given to us that we may come into the rest prepared by God for us. Some before us heard the same word preached to them but were not profited by it. Not discerning the message of the Word, they fell into unbelief and indulged in empty religious observances. They forsook God, “the fountain of living waters”, and fell to their own inventions and vain confidence (Jeremiah 2:13).

Except God’s peace rests in our hearts, there can be no rest in our lives. His rest for His people include peace in the heart because of the pardon for sins; rest from fear because of Christ’s abiding presence; rest from the dread of death because of the hope of eternal life.

Rest comes through genuine relationship with Christ. He sets us free to be active and joyful in His service, and when our time here is over, He stands at the door to welcome us home saying, “well done… enter into the joy (rest) of thy Lord”.

Thought For The Day: There’s sweet rest after labour.

Etobi – Ogidan Omolayo

Etobi - Ogidan Omolayo

Gospel Artist Ogidan Omolayo Has released a new song titled “Etobi

According to him;

“I want to say God is faithful and merciful. His Ways are mysterious And he perfects everything at the appropriate time. “Etobi” means God you’re Great. Am saying it with all my mouths. Daddy you’re a great God sir. So brethren, I like you to sing this song.

What does Etobi mean? “Etobi” means to have strong FAITH in anticipation of your response from  God. Do not forget that the Bible says in the book of John14:13 , “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son”!

God bless you as you agree in the Name of our  Lord Jesus Christ. You are next to Testify to the goodness of God. So. Enjoy your breakthrough. Cheer’s”

Woyoma - Pamela Ibude

Pamela Ufuoma Ibude is back with Woyoma meaning ‘You Are Good’ in Urhobo language of the Delta State origin.

Woyoma is a song composed from a deep place of gratitude to God for His wreckless love for me. God has consistently manifested Himself in my life especially at times when I thought He should have given up on me. He still Loved me and brought me back to His bosom. I am eternally thankful for God’s love, gifts, goodness, mercies and grace for I am and would have been nothing without Him.

The lyrics in ‘Woyoma’ were inspired at specific times by the influence of the Holy Spirit.

Ekele – Femi Fasan

Ekele - Femi Fasan

With praise on his lips and gratitude in his heart, Femi Fasan elegantly releases his fourth single titled “Ekele” (Thanksgiving). It’s an RnB track with a blend of soul and gospel.

Following the release “Ire Mi De” (2018),  “S’oro Mi Dayo” (2019), and “How Can I Repay” (2019),  Femi Fasan takes his audience through a whole new world in the music arena, by releasing a song in Igbo language (Eastern part of Nigeria, West Africa) but delivered with a western approach.

“Seeing that we are in an era when the whole world has been wading in a sea of trials and unpleasant surprises if we do not deliberately thank God, the giver of life, for the gift of life, we will not appreciate being able to sleep and wake up.” – Femi Fasan

The new single – Ekele (Thanksgiving) affirms God’s sovereignty, projects His abilities, and teaches us to honor Him for the great things He has done and He will yet do. It’s a song that serves not just as an expression of the artiste’s gratitude, but a call to people of every nation, tongue, and tribe, to use every opportunity to lavish on the praise unto the Creator uncreated.

Femi’s undeniably rich and impeccable vocal prowess coupled with the usage of the 90s’ riffs and runs makes “Ekele” an irresistible option on genuine music lovers’ playlist.

Ambassador Wole Oni, the experienced and seasoned Los Angeles based International Music Producer left no stone unturned in the excellent production of the song.

C.A.C Daily Devotional – Do Not Look Unto Aaron

The Living Water -  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

The Living Water –  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

Date:Tuesday, September 15, 2020 – International Day of Democracy & Software Freedom Day

Topic: Do Not Look Unto Aaron

Read: Exodus 32:1-10

Exodus 32:1-10 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.

And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

MEMORISE:
And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf (Exodus 32:4)

EXPOSITION
The Israelites would eventually go through a very long journey (a journey that shouldn’t have gone beyond 40 days but that would turn to 40-year journey) to possess the land of Canaan. God gave them Moses to lead them on the journey, to be accompanied by his brother Aaron (a man with eloquent tongue). God purposefully allowed Aaron to become his mouthpiece.

The fact of God’s love and care for them, manifested in how He delivered them from Egypt, should have been enough for Aaron to stand rightly on his feet to encourage the people at a time they walked up to him. He was to make them understand the situation as seeing God in action. But what they got from him led them against God who had been leading them all the way. While Moses was away to speak with God on the mountain, the Israelites began to wonder just where he could have gone. It didn’t take them long to call for a new leader, at least for a season. As they gathered around Aaron to request his help, he succeeded in making a golden calf from the ornaments God had commanded them to do away with. This they did in violating the first commandment. Aaron really misfired!

To some effects, the same situations still abound around us, today. Going through churches, there are some believers whose faith is built on the presence of their leader, and not God. No wonder they are easily misled against God’s purpose. They cannot stand on their feet to seek the true God (2 Chro. 15:2). They run from one mountain to the other looking for miracles that are fabricated (cf. Matt. 24:23-27).

Who are you, and how do you hold unto God? Do you still seek intermediaries between you and God? It is high time you changed and held to Him firmly. He will not forsake you. He cares for you.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Ask God for forgiveness at those points you have looked away from God to man, regardless of the status or power.
2. Pray for the grace to remain focused on Jesus everywhere and every time.
3. O Lord, rebuke the spirit of compromise among our leaders, secular and spiritual, so that they would not be leading people away from God’s holiness.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Preparing Your Ways Before God

Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds of Destiny 15 September 2020 Devotional By Pastor Paul Enenche — Preparing Your Ways Before God

Topic: Preparing Your Ways Before God

The best place to arrange and prepare what you are to do for the day is at the place of prayer.

SCRIPTURE: So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God. 2 Chronicles 27:6

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The best place to arrange and prepare what you are to do for the day is the place of prayer.

Earlier, we saw that appreciation to God is wisdom for daily living because your life appreciates when you appreciate God. On the other hand, your life depreciates when you refuse to appreciate God. So, appreciation to God is wisdom for daily living.

Now, another wisdom tip for daily living is, preparing your ways in the day before the Lord.

In preparing your ways in the day before the Lord, you identify critical things that must be done in the day. What this means is that you should maintain a schedule for each day.

2 Chronicles 27:6 says, So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.

The best place to arrange and prepare what you are to do for the day is at the place of prayer. You prepare your day beforehand so it is not wasted. You can have a daily schedule. In your daily schedule, identify the necessary and vital things that you need to do in the day and write them down. You do this at the place of prayer. At the place of prayer, you connect wisdom, power, direction, and Divine idea for what to do for the day.

Job 38:12 says, Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

Beloved, you are to command your days in the morning; tell the day how it should go. It is not just praying but scheduling or planning the day. Command it and give it a direction. Identify what you must do for each day if the day must be successful. But don’t over schedule it with many things so it doesn’t get congested and you get frustrated at the end of the day if everything on your schedule is not achieved. Don’t over-load your schedule with numerous activities. Just ensure that things that are very critical and vital to move your life forward are included in your schedule for the day. Preparing your way in the day before the Lord is a secret of might.

To do otherwise is like entering a vehicle before asking the driver where he is going. It is like starting a journey in the day without knowing where you are going. It can also be likened to entering a university before finding out what course you are to study. It is not supposed to be so.

My counsel is, prepare your ways in the day before the Lord. Don’t start a journey into the day before knowing where you are going. Live wisely daily.

Remember this: The best place to arrange and prepare what you are to do for the day is the place of prayer.

ASSIGNMENTS

  1. Prayerfully draw a schedule for each day before the day starts.
  2. Present your schedule before God and command each day to go according to your plan.
  3. Follow your drawn schedule for the day rigidly and diligently.
  4. Do not over schedule the day with many things and avoid distractions that will affect your schedule.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to schedule my day before it starts. Help me not to waste my day, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: WISDOM FOR DAILY LIVING.

QUOTE: There are many people on earth today who live a random life – life by random motion. They live their life by randomization and inference. They do not have God on their schedule at all. To such people, if a thing happens ‘that way’, it probably means the other should be ‘this way’. Culled from “21 FOOLISH THINGS PEOPLE DO” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Hosea 4-6

AMAZING FACT: Ants have no lungs! They simply have tiny holes from which oxygen enters and carbon dioxide leaves.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Grace, wisdom and discipline to prepare your way before the Lord daily is released upon you, in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. 1 In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

2 He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.

4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.

6 But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

7 He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.

8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

9 And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

10 Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

11 But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.

Key Verse: “But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.” – (2 Kings 14:6)

MESSAGE:

Woodrow Kroll said, “Justice is for those who deserve it, mercy is for those who don’t”. That beautiful distinction between justice and mercy aptly highlights the importance of mercy in human affairs. Mercy always makes the difference. It makes the sinful man to become a friend of God.

Amaziah became king after his father was assassinated by two servants, Jozachar and Jehozabad. He ascended the throne at the age of twenty-five and he “did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord” although he did not completely stamp out idolatry. In the early part of his reign, he took time to consolidate his power apparently because of the breach that led to the assassination of his father. When he fully secured his throne, he decided to pursue the case of the assassins. He killed the two servants who killed his father but decided to spare their children even though he had the power to get rid of them as well.

Amaziah decided to spare the children of his father’s killers because he chose to be gracious and merciful in wielding the sword of judgment under his control. He decided to apply the principles of justice espoused in Deuteronomy 24:16, a policy which politically, was fraught with a lot of risks. Prior to this incident, others had acted differently. The families of Korah, Dathan and Abiram were all swallowed up with the ambitious heads of their houses. Joshua and all Israel also stoned Achan with all his house. But at a most unexpected time and from an unlikely source, mercy flowed in the direction of these children and they were spared Just like mercy flowed from the cross to the human race so we can be saved from sin.

God expects us today to show mercy and be fair in handling cases involving others and ourselves. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Thought For The Day: Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

I will stay at Your feet
I will abide under your shadow
I want You to know that I love You
And I trust You with my life, with my life
I will stay at Your feet
Patiently with a pen and a notebook
I want You to know I’m attentive
I’ll do what You say

I will, I will
I will, I will oh
I will, I will

I’ll do what You say
I’ll do what You want
I’ll do as You please (2x)

Lord I will wait, I’ll wait at Your feet
Daily will I seek you, daily I will die to self
Lord I want You to search me
Please search my heart oh
Take away any wickedness in me
Lord I will wait, I’ll wait all night long
I’m ready to pay the price
I want You to know You can trust me
I’ll do what You say, oh oh

I will, I will
I will, I will oh
I will, I will

I’ll do what You say
Lord I will do what You want
I’ll do as You please
(Tongues)
Oh I will, I will
I will wait on You, wait at your feet
Patiently I will….
Your Lordship
For there’s no greater honor, Ah no greater glory than to wait at Your feet
Your feet, Your feet, Your feet
No higher calling, no higher calling than to stay, stay at Your feet

Ah (Tongues)
Oh I will, I will, I will
Lord I will stay, I will stay with You…
