Topic: Maximising Life Through Activity [Saturday March 3, 2018]
Scripture: …and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle. Genesis 47:6
Thought For The Day: The lack of functionality is the reason for infirmity and affliction.
It has been confirmed that if a fully charged car battery is left on the bare floor for some time, one would discover that the battery cells would run down. It cannot be used to turn on the ignition of the car because the battery cells have been discharged due to lack of use. On the other hand, the car that is left without the battery also begins to malfunction; the carburettor would develop faults, the tyres would go flat due to lack of use.
Furthermore, the walls of an uninhabited house begin to crack after a while because it is not being cleaned regularly; Rodents, Lizards and Birds would begin to make holes and nests in the house because the house is not put to use.
In the same way, this is how life is. The life not put to active use is destined for degeneration. The lack of functionality is the reason for infirmity and affliction. This explains why a retired civil servant develops high blood pressure that eventually leads to hypertension as a result of idleness.
Beloved, avoid the spell of indolence, inactivity and laziness. Maximise your life through productive and profitable service and engagement.
Remember this: The lack of functionality is the reason for infirmity and affliction.
