TOPIC: Accessing The Power Of God (Seeds Of Destiny 31 May 2026)
SCRIPTURE: And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Genesis 32:28
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you have God’s Presence in your life, you get His Power as the by-product.
MESSAGE
The Power of God is a necessity, not a luxury, especially in the world that we live in. One can cheaply become a victim of life’s circumstances without Power. The fact is, in life, whether you are interested or not, we wrestle. So, to exist powerless in life is to exit this world as a victim.
Jacob was not a pastor, yet he prevailed by Power.
You need Power to stand. You need Power to live. You need Power to fulfill your destiny. You need Power to escape the grip of the forces of wickedness that want you to be buried before your time. You need Power to fulfil your days.
Now, how do we walk in power?
- Passion for God’s Presence
There are many who are looking for power just for show. You don’t look for the shadow if the sun is nearby. The sun will naturally cause the shadow to be cast. You don’t look for the shell if the snail is around.
The shell of the snail follows the snail. In the same manner, you don’t beg for God’s Power if you carry His Presence.
When you have God’s Presence in your life, you get His Power as the by-product. If you have God as the focus, all other things in life, including power, are by-products.
They flow naturally – Psalm 63:1-2.
- The Altar of Prayer
There is no shortcut to the world of Power. If you know prayer, you will know power. Power was manifested at the place of prayer – Genesis 32:24-28.
Show me a man of prayer and I will show you a man of power – Acts 3:1.
No wonder, James 5:17 says, Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. And he prayed again and there was rain.
- The Force of Praise
God lives inside the praise of His people (Psalm 22:3).
And the arrival of God is the arrival of His omnipotent Power. When you know how to praise Him, you will walk in His Power. It is not just singing, but a heart of worship, a climate of worship.
- The Action of Soul Winning
Luke 10:17,19 says, And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
You see, they went on the assignment of soul winning and that assignment was backed by the demonstration of Power, the Power of God.
- The Light of the Word of God
The fifth secret is the light of the Word of God.
Luke 4:32 says, they were astonished at his doctrine, for his word was with power.
Furthermore, Ecclesiastes 8:4 says, where the word of a king is, there is power…
When you ingest the Word and digest it, you will manifest supernatural life, power and glory. Eat the Word, digest it, meditate on it, and your system will absorb it and transform your life.
REMEMBER THIS: When you have God’s Presence in your life, you get His Power as the by-product.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Build a daily habit of seeking God’s Presence through consistent fervent prayer.
- The Word of God carries Divine Power. Study it, believe it, and most importantly, carry out its instructions.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for making Your power available to me. I receive grace to walk in deeper intimacy with You so I can walk in Your Power and prevail over the forces of the enemy, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
