Where love abound things work smoothly and the best way to make things work for our good is to love God genuinely. Ministering during the day 2 of the Annual Prayer And Fasting’ at the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo informed his congregation that love is a primary choice.
Oyedepo preached on the topic ‘Understanding The Guaranteed Outcomes From The Altar Of Prayer And Fasting’. He admonished christians to strive for their love to stand the test of time.
“It is a choice. Love is primarily a choice. It begins with a choice. Joshua 24:15, Deuteronomy 30:19. So, it’s a choice. We must strive for our choice to be empowered to stand the test of time. Peter said “I will never deny you” but when the going went tough, Peter did 3 times. He wept bitterly to recover himself. But after the Holy Ghost came sir, you can’t stop him”, he said.
The Bishop emphasized the importance of the holy ghost, this is because it is the holy ghost that will ignite our love for God. Also God commanded love among humans, it is not made by men.
“We must pray for the Holy Ghost to enfire our love for God. ‘The God that answers by fire, let it be the Lord.’ You remember the story on Mount Moriah?…and the Holy Ghost is said to be the Holy Ghost and Fire. We can also learn to walk in love. 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10…So, it’s taught. You are hearing it now, something is sparking inside you. Recognize that loving one another is a commandment of Christ. It’s not make-up. That’s Christ’s commandment and His commandments are not grievous”, the Bishop said.
Bishop David added that things work for the good of those who love God. He noted that love makes believers pacesetters wherever they find themselves.
“Everything works together for good to them that love God. So proven love for God keeps things working together for good for us. 1 Corinthians 2:9. So walking in genuine love for God makes a believer a wonder to the world around him. It turns believers to pacesetters, pathfinders. This year is an awesome year. It’s a year of unusual opportunities”, he said.
