The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) banned the wearing of uniform in occasions popularly known as Aso ebi.
Likewise, ungodly wedding engagements that come with petty lies are also banned by the Church.
This was announced on Saturday by Mrs Folu Adeboye the wife of the General Overseer and also known as the Mother -in-Israel during the women’s meeting in the just concluded 65th annual convention of RCCG tagged ”Halleluyah”.
According to Nigeria Tribune, Mrs Adeboye said it is ungodly to compel members of the Church to take part in the so called Aso Ebi during special events and occasions.
Adding that the leadership of the church seriously frowns at the excluding of some members of the church who could not afford to buy the uniform for special programmes held in the local assemblies.
Emphasizing that ordinarily, Aso ebi is meant to be for the family and not to be placed high to the extent of overshadowing the life of members spiritually.
In her statement, she warned against side lining some members in programs because of Aso ebi adding that such behaviours would not be condoned anymore in the Church and that anyone guilty of such would be sanctioned.
She explained that the idea behind wearing compulsory uniforms for events originated from the world and shouldn’t be allowed to the take a permanent place in the Church of God.
Also frowned at by the Pastor Mrs was telling of petty lies in Christian wedding engagement ceremonies where lies would be fabricated by the event planners just to generate funds for the couple.
Emphasizing that when it comes to God unlike man, all lies be it white or black are the same, stating that in such events the act of compelling guests at the event to bring money as air ticket which has already been paid for is simply involing oneself in an ungodly act.
While speaking to women, she called for moderation among them adding that their aim should be introducing halleluyah and godliness in their homes and stay away from engaging in some ungodly acts like people of the world.
