Rules That Govern God’s Altar (Commitment) ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Rules That Govern God’s Altar (Commitment) [Tuesday March 7, 2017]

“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.” (Matthew 12:43-44)

As an African, you are directly or indirectly connected to an altar. Before you were born, your forebears made all kinds of commitment on demonic altars. When you become a Christian, you get connected to God’s altar. But if your commitment to it isn’t strong enough, all those altars to which your forebears swore commitment will begin to trouble you – sometimes, without your knowledge.

Many years ago, a woman with a problem came to see me. During a counselling session, she told me that she was born into the church, that all members of her family were Christians and completely committed to the church. However, I put her on a 21-day fast. Ten days into the fast, she came to me crying. She had a dream the previous night, in which  she saw her grandmother sitting by a mermaid, who pointed to her (the testifying sister) and asked, “Where do you think you are going?”

I asked her, “I thought you said everybody in your family were Christian?” Sometimes, you look at your life and just can’t figure out what’s wrong with you. Your problem is that other altars are pulling on you. They are competing with the altar of God over you. And because your commitment to God’s altar is not strong enough, it cannot help you. God’s altar is as strong for you as you are committed to it. I recommend to every African, “Make sure you go for deliverance”!

Your commitment in God’s house will deliver you today.

WORD OF WISDOM: Commitment to God is what you do in His house and outside of it.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, deliver me from the cold claws of evil altars, in Jesus’ name.
