TOPIC: Aglow For God (Seeds Of Destiny 31 October 2022)
SCRIPTURE: Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord. Romans 12:11 (AMP)
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Sleeping while praying is a confirmation of a fireless Christian life.
MESSAGE:
In those days when we were in the University, I remember a brother in the fellowship who used to go with other brethren to a mountain to pray. And every time they went there to pray, he would start sleeping on the mountain while others were praying.
Whenever they woke him up, he would say, ‘Leave me alone; I’m in the Spirit.’ But he would be sleeping.
So, one day, he was sleeping while they were praying. And after the prayer, they left him on the mountain in order to be in the “spirit” and he slept until he was tired.
When he woke up, he realised that the brethren had left him and gone back to the hostel, so, he became very angry and told them, ‘Why did you people leave me on the mountain?
Then they said, ‘You were in the spirit, so, we decided to leave you to be in the spirit. We did not want to pull you out of the Spirit.’
Beloved, is it possible to be talking to the president of a country and be sleeping at the same time? Sleeping while praying is a confirmation of a fireless life of a Christian.
You see, if the prayer would command Divine attention, it must carry fire and fire is sponsored by the Holy Ghost. He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself (1 Corinthians 14:4); he charges up himself. The word, edify, is likened to a recharging system. If you are not charged, recharge with the Holy Ghost.
Remember this: Sleeping while praying is a confirmation of a fireless life of a Christian
