TOPIC: Contacting The Nature Of God By The Word (Seeds Of Destiny 12 March 2025)
SCRIPTURE: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. – John 6:63
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The more you receive the Word, the more like God you become.
MESSAGE:
The Word of God is a powerful tool in living a righteous life. D.L. Moody once said, “The Bible will keep you from sin, and sin will keep you from the Bible.” And one way that the Word shapes us is by transmitting the Nature of God into our lives. The character of God is conveyed through the Word of God.
John 6:63 says, It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Similarly, Ezekiel 2:2 says, And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
The Spirit of God is synonymous with the Nature of God—His very personality. As you hear and meditate on the Word of God, which is His nature, His qualities such as integrity and purity are imparted on you. The more you receive the Word, the more like God you become. For instance, it is impossible to be deeply rooted in the Word and remain heartless. A heartless person is someone who lacks compassion, who would harm others without remorse. But when you are filled with the Word, your heart is transformed. It is impossible to be worded and remain heartless because God is love, and His Word reflects His nature.
Beloved, bring your life under the influence of the Word, so you can live rightly in this world.
Remember this: The more you receive the Word, the more like God you become.
ASSIGNMENT:
- As you read the Word, be on the lookout for the Character and Nature of God.
- Always ask God to impart you with His Nature and Character as you study the Word.
PRAYER: Father, I ask that You bring me into contact with Your Nature and Character as I study Your Word. I receive the grace to manifest Your Character, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
