Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 21 February 2025 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Key Thoughts On Prayer
TOPIC: Key Thoughts On Prayer (Seeds Of Destiny 21 February 2025)
SCRIPTURE: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It takes fire from the heart to provoke answer from above.
MESSAGE:
Prayer is one spiritual exercise that is most critical to the maintenance of our relationship with God. Prayer is the channel that connects a person to God, and without God, we can do nothing. Beloved, if you are serious about your life and destiny, you must be serious about prayer. Here are a few key thoughts on how to pray effectively:
– It takes fire from the heart to provoke an answer from above.
We see this demonstrated in the life of Elijah. It was the fire of prayer in his heart that provoked an answer from heaven (1 Kings 18:36-38). It takes fire from the heart to provoke fire from above. James 5:16 says, Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. The word “fervent” implies fire.
– Nothing glorious happens until someone gets serious.
Nothing glorious happens until someone gets serious. The glory of God that fell in the form of fire was a response to Elijah’s seriousness in prayer. We see this from Elijah’s prayer life. God does serious things only with serious people; He doesn’t do serious things with unserious people. Look at Cain for instance, he was unserious about life, so God could not do anything serious with him. Look at Esau—he was also unserious, and as a result, God could not work seriously with him. God cannot do serious things with unserious people.
And that seriousness extends to the place of prayer. Unseriousness is a turnoff for God. There are people who still answer their phones while doing serious prayers. Imagine being engaged in prayer and pausing to say, “Hello, sorry, I’m praying; I’ll call you back later.” That’s not a prayer to expect an answer from. When you are engaged in serious matters, the phone should be turned off. It doesn’t matter if it is the president calling.
Remember this: It takes fire from the heart to provoke answer from above.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to pray with fire from your heart so it can provoke answer from above.
2. Be serious when praying; disengage from all distracting activities and maintain focus.
PRAYER: Father, I ask for grace to maintain focus and seriousness in prayer. I receive your help to pray with fire from my heart, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
MESSAGE: THE FORCES OF EFFECTIVE PRAYER (PT 2)
QUOTE: It is a foolish thing to do, for you to spend many days in fasting and prayer, live a worship life, study the Word, etc. and all of a sudden God’s power comes upon you in such a great dimension that signs and wonders follow you and devils are cast out then you stop fasting, praying, worshipping, and studying the Word. If you get to a place where you think you have arrived, and you do not fast, pray, give, live a holy life etc., you cannot maintain the anointing. When you stop paying the price for the anointing, you lose the anointing.
