TOPIC: Living For Christ
Any other life you live on earth apart from living for Christ is a waste.
SCRIPTURE: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Any other life you live on earth apart from living for Christ is a waste.
There is an ancient song that says,
I live for Jesus day after day.
I live for Jesus let come what may.
The Holy Spirit, I will obey.
I live for Jesus day after day.
It is a song of dedication, surrender and devotion to God.
The truth is, we were created by God to live for Him alone. However, today, many people live without really knowing why they are alive or who they are living for.
People prepare for long journeys. They prepare for weddings and examinations, but very few people prepare for life – this life and the one to come in eternity.
There is a need to ask vital questions like: Why am I alive? Whom am I living for? Why do I wake up in the morning? When I make money, what purpose is it for?
Philippians 1:21 says,
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Also, Galatians 2:20 says,
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
From these two Scriptures, we understand that we were created to live for Christ. Beloved, you were created by God to be a pleasure to Him and for His Kingdom. So, any other life you live on earth apart from living for Christ is a waste.
Do not join the people of the world to live solely for the pleasures of this World. Make up your mind to live for Jesus Christ alone.
Remember this: Any other life you live on earth apart from living for Christ is a waste.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Refuse to live for self, satan or the pleasures of this world.
- Let Christ be the reason for your living. Let Christ be the Centre of your life.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from the life of vanity. Help me to live for Christ now and forever, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
