Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 16 February 2025 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Sowing And Showing Love
TOPIC: Sowing And Showing Love (Seeds Of Destiny 16 February 2025)
SCRIPTURE: But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4:15.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Christianity equals hypocrisy without love.
MESSAGE:
It has been established in one of our previous studies that intimacy with God is a pathway to loving people. One man who loved people due to his intimacy with God was David. David maintained a deep and passionate relationship with God. In Psalm 27:4, David says: One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. David desired to dwell in God’s presence all his life. This was a demonstration of his passion for God. In Psalm 55:17, he declared: Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. This shows his unwavering passion for God. Similarly, in Psalm 119:164, he says: Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments. Look at David’s deep longing for God in Psalm 42:1-2:
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? This was the heart of David—he was a passionate lover of God.
No wonder, when he met people who were indebted, distressed, and discontented, he brought them together and transformed them into a powerful army of great men and captains. He gathered around 400 men and turned them into mighty warriors. This was because he was moved with compassion for them. David sowed love and compassion into these people, and they were raised and transformed by the power of that love. Beloved, Christianity is hypocrisy without charity. Christianity equals hypocrisy without love. The question is, how did David get his compassion for people? David’s compassion for people was birthed in the presence of God. His intimacy with God deposited in him his love for others.
Remember this: Christianity equals hypocrisy without love.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Make up your mind to sow and show love in the heart of others.
- Love people regardless of their status. Like David, love the less privileged, the distressed and the discontented.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to love people unconditionally. Help me to both sow and show love, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
