Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Taking It And Having It

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 27 March 2025 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Taking It And Having It

TOPIC: Taking It And Having It (Seeds Of Destiny 27 March 2025)

SCRIPTURE: Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David. 2 Samuel 5:7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you take determines what you have.

MESSAGE:

The Book of 2 Samuel 5:4-7 tells us an interesting story about David. The Scripture reveals that David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah. And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spoke unto David, saying, “Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither:” Nevertheless, David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

The summary of this passage is, what you take determines what you have. David took the city and called it after himself, and the city became the city of David.

Beloved, you cannot have by right what you are not ready to take by fight. Anything you are ready to take by fight can become yours by right. This is how territories were conquered in ancient times. What you are not ready to take by fight, you are not ready to have by right.

Beloved, the possessions and treasures of life are for those who can take them by fight. It takes warfare to possess your possession in life. No wonder, Deuteronomy 2:24 says, Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

It takes warfare and the fighting spirit to take possession of what God has given you.

Remember this: What you take determines what you have.

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Make up your mind to take your inheritance and possession by warfare.
  2. Always maintain a fighting spirit. Don’t wait for what is yours to come to you; go for it.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to go for what is mine in life and destiny. I ask that You empower me with the fighting spirit to possess my possessions, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
