TOPIC: The Power Of Resurrection (Seeds Of Destiny 20 April 2025)
SCRIPTURE: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” – Matthew 28:6
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: His resurrection is meant to change our lives.
MESSAGE:
It is not enough to know that Jesus Christ died for our sins; it is important to know that He also resurrected. And it is in His resurrection that we have hope. He defeated death and rose to life so we also can have life.
Now, what is the power of His Resurrection?
1. The Power of Absolute Dominion and Authority.
His resurrection brings absolute dominion and authority over all the forces of the enemy. Sin, sickness, death, and all forms of evil are defeated by the power of resurrection. Acts 2:22-24 says: Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
This is the power of absolute authority over all the forces of the enemy.
2. It is the Power of Transformation.
The resurrection of Jesus brings about the transformation of life. For example, after Jesus’ resurrection, many of those who had walked closely with Him could no longer recognize Him.
In Luke 24:13-31, two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus spoke with Him but did not recognize Him until at the breaking of bread.
Similarly, Mary Magdalene—who had spent her life serving Jesus—did not recognize Him at first after His resurrection: John 20:13-16 says: And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
This demonstrates the transformative power of resurrection. His resurrection is meant to change our lives—to make us different from who and what we used to be.
REMEMBER THIS: His resurrection is meant to change our lives.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Decide never to remain low in life, knowing that Jesus Christ has risen.
- Ask God to transform your life by the power of His resurrection.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to experience a transformed life by the power of resurrection. I make demands on the power of resurrection for my rising to prominence in life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
