Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 13 January 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Walking In His Commandments
TOPIC: Walking In His Commandments
SCRIPTURE: Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. Deuteronomy 8:6.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To keep His commandments and walk in His ways is to fear Him.
The Scripture makes it clear that the whole duty of a man is to fear God and keep His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13). We are created to fear and reverence God.
To live in the Fear of God is to be connected to the Word of God. The fear of God is connected by living your life in line with the principles of God.
Deuteronomy 8:6 says:
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
To keep His commandments and walk in His ways is to fear Him.
Now, one category of people as far as living by principles is concerned is:
Those whose lives are governed by fleshly pleasures and desires
To be governed by fleshly pleasures and desires is to live according to the dictates of the flesh. Once it feels good to the flesh, they go for it. These are people governed by lustful passion for a woman or for a man who is not their wife or husband. They have strong appetite for alcohol or tobacco. They can do anything to get money, even that which is not rightfully given to them.
Their flesh is in charge of their lives. They are like Esau whose appetite was stronger than his principles. Their lives are under the control of their fleshly passions. And the end of such lives is frustration in this world and in the world to come.
That will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
REMEMBER THIS: To keep His commandments and walk in His ways is to fear Him.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Make up your mind to fear and reverence the Lord.
- Refuse to let the flesh be your master.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to fear and reverence You. Help me to put my flesh under control, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM – THE FEAR OF GOD (PART 2).
QUOTE: The fear of the Lord is to depart from, and to hate evil. So those who spend time with God, embrace the fear of God that makes them to say, ‘no’ to sin. Culled from “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.
DAILY BIBLE READING: Exodus 11-15.
REFLECTION: Until you are able to bring your life under control, you can bring nothing under control. If your life is out of your control, everything will be out of your control. Endeavour to live for God, not for the flesh.
PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: The Grace to please God with your life is released to you in Jesus’ Name.
