TREM Devotional – Stay Open For New Things

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 3 January 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Stay Open For New Things

TOPIC: Stay Open For New Things (TREM Devotional 1 January 2024)

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Another thing to note as we journey through this Year is to decide not to box God. God is set to do amazing things, but don’t assume you know Him and how He operates, because you don’t. He is the many-sided God – when you think you have figured Him out, He shows you another side. You cannot comprehend Him; He is new every morning.

When He asked you to call Him, you can see two clear Promises, 1. He will answer and 2. He will show you great and mighty things which you do not know. In other words, don’t box God. Yes, He moved in a certain way in 2023, but that does not mean that is the way He will do it in 2024. He has spoken to show you, so what do you need to do? Simply follow Him.

To follow God is to embrace whatever instruction He gives to you without asking questions. The moment He speaks, and you know it is His voice, simply obey. Obedience is still the key to divine destiny – there is no other. That is why I said to you yesterday to always approach His presence with a notebook and pen. That alone is a posture of someone ready to learn at His feet.

This Year don’t live your life by happenstance; be intentional. Follow God. Take every Word from Him seriously. His instructions may not make sense, but they make faith – follow Him. Our Christian walk is a faith walk and without faith, it is impossible to please God. Remember the story of the wedding and the wine? What did Mary, the mother of Jesus say to the disciples? Whatever He says to you, do it. Let that be your guiding principle this year.
