TREM Devotional 22 March 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Use Your Authority

TOPIC: Use Your Authority (TREM Devotional 22 March 2022)

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14:15-16 (KJV)

There is a time to cry out to God in prayers and there is a time that crying out to God in prayers will never cut it, at this time, you must rise that time and use your authority. The key is to know the difference.

When you are already face-to-face with a life-threatening situation is not the time to start crying out in prayers with a running nose. I called that ‘’Scared praying or fearful praying’’. At that time, you are not praying with faith, you are praying out of fear. The last thing Jesus said to us when He rose is that all authority in heaven and the earth has been given unto Him. Therefore, GO (Matthew 28:18-19 Mark 16:15-20). “Go” here is a command and not a suggestion. He didn’t say all authority is available or may be given, but they have been given and in that same authority, He gave the command to go.

In our text today you will notice Moses crying out to God when he saw Pharaoh’s choicest military personnel in hot pursuit. Not knowing what to do he started praying, that type of prayer we are all used to when we are fearful and in trouble. Notice what God said to him “Wherefore criest thou unto me? “Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward’’ In other words stop bellyaching and use your authority. I hear God saying the same to you today; stop crying, move forward.

Our authority today is the name of Jesus. Jesus will do whatever you ask in His name (John 14:13-14). What are you waiting for? Get up, blow your nose, and start using your authority.
