Wisdom For The Day Devotional 19 November 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – What Are You Listening To?

TOPIC: What Are You Listening To? (TREM Devotional 19 November 2022)

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Today, I want to show you something in the Bible that is very important. I want to speak on your sensory areas, specifically your ears. They are doorways through which people can access your life or the inner recess of your being. If your door or things around you will stay open in life, you must pay very close attention to the things you hear and the things you speak. The ear or the ear gate is very important in our Christian race. There are some believers who have garaged themselves because of the things they are hearing.

The story of the deaf man with a speech impediment (Mark 7:32), the devil was so strategic in shutting down this man’s ears and his mouth. He could have shut down every other thing, but he chose the ear and the mouth. Why? The scripture tells us that faith comes by hearing. So if your ear is shut down, that means you cannot have faith, and you will not have faith to become anything. You can’t have faith to believe God for something great if your ear is shut down. The scripture also says in Hebrews 11:6 that “without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.

You see that you cannot have the faith to believe if you cannot hear correctly. So it was a strategy of the devil to shut his ears. We are living in a time where fear is been bandied all over the place, where doubts and unbelief is been bandied all over the place. You cannot expect things to open for you when you don’t have faith, and faith cannot come if your ear is shut. What are you hearing? What type of message are you hearing, who is speaking into your live? Unfortunately, today a lot of people are allowing social media to speak to them and in social media there is a whole lot of falsehood been bandied and some people are building their lives on what social media is saying. Yet God have spoken in his word that our future is colorful!

Thanks be unto God who always causes me to triumph in Christ and makes manifest His Knowledge by me in every place because I am the light of the world and the salt of the earth. I refuse to faint under any circumstance and though my outward man perishes, I know that my inward man is renewed day by day. (2 Cor 2:14, Matt 5:13-14, 2 Cor 4:17)

I shall lay-up gold as dust and as the stones of the brook. Yea the Almighty shall be my defence and I shall have plenty of silver The Lord has made me a blessing; I am blessed going out and blessed coming in. He will cause the shower to come down in its season; there shall be showers of blessing. The trees of my field will yield their fruit and the earth shall yield her increase and I shall be safe in the land. (Job 22:24-25, Deut. 28:3, Lev. 26:4)

Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavours.

I am called for a purpose. I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.

IT IS MY WEEK OF ACCELERATION!
