Zero To Hero ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Zero To Hero [Tuesday February 21, 2017]

“For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.” (Ps 128:2)

If you must gain spiritual strength, you must respect the body of Christ. Long ago, a brother who belonged to our church was stealing from the church’s purse. From his loot, he built a house and married a second wife. His first wife came and reported to me that all of the man’s wealth was stolen from the church. I sent for the man to verify, but he sent word back, that he would see me whenever he had the chance.

It took a long time before he finally came to see me. After our investigation, I told him I would suspend him. But before I finished talking, he interrupted me and said I didn’t need to suspend him because he was leaving the church for me. To cut a long story short, everything he thought he had acquired: his cars, houses, and second wife, he lost them all in no time.

He later returned to his first wife who forgave and took him back. Then he fell ill. All medical efforts to heal him failed. Later, he was brought to me. I forgave him, prayed for him, and gave him a job in the Church again. However, God’s judgment on him was already unleashed and a short while later, he died. Pathetic! He didn’t discern the body of Christ.

I will always respect the body of Christ. As a kid, when they thought I would never speak, I started talking. When everybody thought I would amount to nothing, God took me from zero and made me a hero. He will take care of you too. He is too God to fail.

WORDS OF WISDOM: Zero is always the beginning of Hero.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Holy Spirit, help me not to disrespect the body of Christ. Let me take care of the church, and then take me from zero to hero, in Jesus’ name.
