DCLM Daily Manna – The End Matters Most

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 19 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The End Matters Most

TOPIC: The End Matters Most (DCLM Daily Manna 19 May 2022)

TEXT: 2 Chronicles 16:1-14 (KJV)

1 In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the Lord and of the king’s house, and sent to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

3 There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

4 And Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.

5 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.

6 Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.

7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the Lord thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.

8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the Lord, he delivered them into thine hand.

9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

10 Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.

11 And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.

13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.

14 And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.

KEY VERSE: “And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign” (2 Chronicles 16:12, 13).

MESSAGE:

It is expected that the nearer a person is to the end of his life, the more effort he should put to obeying God and preparing for eternity. Instead, we find many people becoming more reckless in their living and at the end, dying in such an ignoble manner. Though they may have had a good start, they end up messing up everything.

Such was the case of King Asa. He started off as a God-fearing king. His good deeds and trust in the Lord earned him a peaceful reign and victories over formidable enemy nations. But at the end of his reign and life, he veered off from God. Instead of trusting God when he faced a threat from a less enemy nation, he looked up to another nation for help. When he was rebuked for his foolish act, he became furious against the prophet and imprisoned him. Asa became very oppressive and aggressive on the people. Even when he became diseased in his feet, he ignored God and sought help from ungodly physicians.

We must be careful not to end our lives as Asa did. It is not enough to start well; we must ensure we end well because that is what matters most. Believers must constantly gauge their lives to see that they do not decrease in the grace of God.

To end well, we must constantly have our eyes on the prize that is set before us. We must not allow anything to derail us. Lastly, we should seek more grace to run the race successfully.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
It is not enough to start well; it is far more important to end well!

Holy – God’s Gifty

Holy - God's Gifty

US-based Nigerian Christian music recording artist, singer and songwriter God’s Gifty is out with a new single titled Holy.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, the music artist revealed that she was in a season of studying and meditating on Isaiah 6, asking the Lord to send and use her as He pleases.

In one of those soaking sessions, she began to hear the words “the angels sing holy” and from there it was like a narration of what it means or feels like to be in the heavenly presence of God.

Telegram

As she heard, she sang out and recorded. “Holy” is simply meant to show the world that a portion of God’s glory is in every aspect of His creation, even the overlooked parts.

God wants to come into every part of our lives and reflect His Glory through it, even the parts we think He is not interested in. God is looking for yielded vessels.

TREM Devotional – God Will Come Through With His Promises

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 18 May 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – God Will Come Through With His Promises

TOPIC: God Will Come Through With His Promises (TREM Devotional 18 May 2022)

“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform” Romans 4:21 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Beloved, what I want you to put at the back of your mind is that God will always come through with His promises. If He said it, He will do it. If you check the scriptures for His track record, you will discover those He came through for. He came through for Sarah and Abraham. He made a promise to them, and twenty-five years down the line, it seemed it will not happen, but it eventually happened. They needed to doubt and turn their back on God, but they stood their ground. Concerning Abraham, the scripture declares: “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, so shall thy seed be.” (Romans 4:18 KJV).

In Luke Chapter 1, the bible tells us that Zachariah and Elizabeth were serving God faithfully and yet they had no child. They had grown old and there was no possibility of having a child. They didn’t turn their back on God or get angry at Him. But it was when they were in active service in the temple that the Lord came through for them. Let me ask you when you are angry at God what can you do to Him? I make bold to tell you that whether you serve him or not, He remains God.

The other day Job was trying to tell God all his qualifications. And based on that, he didn’t see any reason why he should suffer the things he was suffering. He said to God: I feared you and eschewed evil but look at what has befallen me. How can you say that you love me, and these things are happening? Job queried the dealings of God with him. When he was through with all his questions, God said to him it is time for me to ask you my questions; because if you want to come to me by your merit I will prove to you that you will score something worse than fail.

At the end of it all, God came through for Job and gave him total restoration. “So, the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.” (Job 42:12 KJV).

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Gains Of Kingdom Advancement

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 18 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Gains Of Kingdom Advancement

TOPIC: The Gains Of Kingdom Advancement (Seeds Of Destiny 18 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, seek ye me in vain: I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. Isaiah 45:19

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No devil can render useless a man who is useful to God.

MESSAGE:

It is important to note that understanding is a major channel of faith and faith is the secret of results in life. Things don’t just happen. We don’t see results just because we did something; we see results because we understand what the outcome of the action should be.

So, today, we will understand what should happen to anyone who commits himself to the service of God in Kingdom advancement.

God is not just a Recorder of human activity; He is also a Rewarder of faithful labour. Serving God is not a waste of life; it is the highest form of investment in life.

Now, what are the gains of commitment to Kingdom advancement?

  1. Divine Presence and Unction. The assignment of the Kingdom attracts the companionship of the King (Mark 16:20). God is the King.
  2. Divine health, vitality and life (Exodus 23:25). Your level of usefulness commands Divine faithfulness to your existence. No devil can render useless a man who is useful to God (John 15:2).
  3. Supernatural blessings and supplies (Luke 22:35). If the disciples of Jesus did not lack anything when He sent them in the Bible days, we are not permitted to lack anything now.
  4. The guarantee of answered prayers. You cannot be fruitful to God and His Kingdom and be begging Him to answer your prayers (John 15:16).
  5. Access to Divine wisdom and guidance (Proverbs 11:30). Whom God sends he leads. Divine assignment fertilises mentality.
  6. The guarantee of eternal rewards (2Timothy 4:6-8). Kingdom assignment qualifies us for crown in eternity.

As you embark on Kingdom assignments, you shall experience all these gains. No devil can stop you, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: No devil can render useless a man who is useful to God.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Be committed to Kingdom advancement in soul winning, giving and prayers.
  2. Maintain a sound relationship with the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit makes working for God easy.
  3. Expect rewards both in time and in eternity as you advance God’s Kingdom.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to serve You more. And I summon all my rewards that have been resisted by the devil to come to me now! Lord in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: Partnership with God is the answer to the hardship on earth. Partnership with God will usher you into the realm of the overflow. Culled from “21 UNCOMMON KEYS TO FINANCIAL OVERFLOW” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DCLM Daily Manna – Power Of The Gospel

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 18 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Power Of The Gospel

TOPIC: Power Of The Gospel (DCLM Daily Manna 18 May 2022)

TEXT: Psalm 112:1-10 (KJV)

1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

KEY VERSE: “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” – (Psalm 112:7)

MESSAGE:

When the panicking leaders of a nation decided they had had enough of a daily menu of what they called “nothing but evil news” from the local media, they wielded the big stick of shutting them down. The point however, was that what the proscribed media faithfully reported: banditry, kidnappings, cases of rape, armed robbery, communal clashes, child molestation, ritual murders, political instability among other security breaches, did not disappear with the disappearance of the media reports.

The believer should emulate the psalmist in our Bible passage. He must “not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart [should be] fixed, trusting in the LORD”. The true Christian will enjoy more peace in the midst of turmoil as he feeds himself with the comfort of the gospel of the Prince of peace.

What the world is getting in the form of evil is the result of what it is consuming: false philosophy and erroneous doctrines that are contrary to the teachings of Christ. These have not produced men and women who are “gracious, and full of compassion”. Filled with fear of worldly news instead of fear of the laws of God, and of looming judgment upon the sinner, “The wicked shall…be grieved.”

The Church must be more alive today to counter the evil news of the world with the comforting news of the gospel. With it, we can free the society from fear. That is the only way to defeat the onslaught of pernicious news in our society today.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The solution to evil news is to spread the gospel news.

Again And Again - Joy Forze

Joy Forze, a US-based gospel minister, is excited to declare the release of the video to her most recent release titled “Again And Again” produced by Peter Tobe.

She recounts “One night during my prayer time, I was worshipping and thanking God for how far He had brought me and for His faithfulness in my life and I heard the Spirit say to me “There Is More.”

And an overwhelming desire came over me for more. Before I knew it, I was crying out to God for more, and the words flowed as effortlessly as the tears streaming down my cheeks. I believe that we are in a season of revival and God is seeking people who are not satisfied with where they are and desire more.

My prayer is that the song “Again and Again” will create a hunger and thirst for a deeper fellowship and intimacy with God for everyone who listens to it.”

Telegram

As a worshiper and singer, most of her songs are birthed in the place of prayer and worship unto God. The songs in the album, “Nothing Else Matters” released in 2018 with Pandita Njoh are songs of glory declaring the greatness of God over the nations of the earth.

Her single ‘Scatter body” released in April 2020 is a song of celebration acknowledging the goodness of God in the lives of His people and the song “Beautiful” released in October 2021 is a song of intimacy and fellowship with Abba.

The video is directed and shot by Oluyinka Davids of iFocus.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Necessity Of Soul Winning

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 17 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Necessity Of Soul Winning

TOPIC: The Necessity Of Soul Winning (Seeds Of Destiny 17 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: I say unto you, that likewise JOY shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons which need no repentance. Luke 15:7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot sow joy in heaven and not reap joy on earth.

MESSAGE:

Soul-winning is a very crucial aspect of dedicated Christianity. No Christian can be confirmed to be dedicated who is not interested in wining souls into the Kingdom. Soul-winning was the bedrock of the apostolic Christianity.

When we came to the Lord in the late 70s and early 80s, it was almost a sin for a Christian to go out without evangelism tracts in his pocket. You would feel as if you have committed a sin for going out without tracts in your pocket. Paul the apostle said, “Woe is me if I preach not the gospel” (1 Corinthians 9:16).

The question is: why is soul-winning necessary?

  1. The salvation of souls is the priority of God. It is God’s pre-eminent priority. Soul-winning is the heartbeat of God (Ezekiel 3:11, 2Peter 3:9).
  2. The salvation of souls is a trigger for joy in heaven (Luke 15:7, 10). For every sinner that repents, there is jubilation in heaven. You cannot sow joy in heaven and not reap joy on earth.
  3. The salvation of souls is the reward for the travails of our Master. As we win souls, we are ensuring that our Master, Jesus Christ did not suffer on the Cross of Calvary in vain (Isaiah 53:11).
  4. The salvation of souls is the rescue of multitudes from the torment of hell fire (Psalm 9:17). Hell is real; and everyone who does not know Jesus is on the way to hell.
  5. The salvation of multitudes brings honour to the Almighty (Proverbs 14:28). God is honoured when multitudes gather.

Beloved, be committed to soul-winning, and God will be committed to meeting your needs.

Remember this: You cannot sow joy in heaven and not reap joy on earth.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Ensure that at least a soul is added to the Kingdom on your account every month.
  2. Pray for the establishment of every soul won into the Kingdom.
  3. Trust God for the termination of every challenge around your life as you go out for souls.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to be committed in my soul-winning effort. Help me feel a portion Jesus’ love, burden and passion for mankind, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: DEDICATION TO GOD IN SOUL-WINNING.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 25-27

QUOTE: Our destiny as a church is to colonize our generation, to disciple our generation, to change culture. Culled from “MAKING FULL PROOF OF MINISTRY” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: People who laugh a lot are healthier than those who don’t.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Fresh passion for souls is released on you now in Jesus Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Profit Of Pleasing The Lord

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 17 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Profit Of Pleasing The Lord

TOPIC: Profit Of Pleasing The Lord (DCLM Daily Manna 17 May 2022)

TEXT: 2 Chronicles 14:1-15 (KJV)

1 So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.

2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest.

7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

8 And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.

9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the Lord, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

14 And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the Lord came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.

15 They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.

KEY VERSE: “And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God: For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves.” – (2 Chronicles 14:2,3)

MESSAGE:

A teacher was trying to teach his pupil about cause and effect; he said, “Has your mother or father ever told you that after you do a certain chore, then you can go get ice cream? If so, then you know a certain sequence, or order, was needed. First, you do the chore and then you get the ice cream.” Many things in life have cause and effect.

In our passage today, King Asa inherited from his father a lot of strange worships and idolatry in Judah. His father Abijah had tolerated such worships and images. Upon the death of his father and as soon as he became king, he wasted no time in taking down all the elevated altars that were at variance with the worship of the true God in Judah. God was pleased with him. It was recorded of him, that “Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God”.

Again, when he was confronted with a difficult situation – a war with Zerah the Ethiopian – he did not rely on his “mighty men of valour,” but he “cried unto the LORD his God”. He was victorious over his enemies because he recognised the only true God.

The solution to that long-standing challenge in your life could be found in your decision today to burn down all the evil altars in your life, and institute the true worship of God. Always acknowledge God’s omnipotence in every situation in your life, and avoid relying on self.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Living for God alone attracts greater blessings.

TREM Devotional – Hold On To Your Faith

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 16 May 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Hold On To Your Faith

TOPIC: Hold On To Your Faith (TREM Devotional 16 May 2022)

“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God “. Romans 4:20 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Beloved, today, I want to challenge you to hold on to your faith in God. If God has said something to you, don’t let any man pull you out of your steadfastness, commitment, dedication, and faithfulness. God is not a man that He would lie neither is He the son of man that he would repent. If He said It, He will bring it to pass.

Abraham never stopped believing. He refused to be distracted by the things around him. There are scoffers released by the enemy because he knows that he is losing ground. That is why he is jumping into places of worship and distracting people. That is why some people will start in faith and end up in the flesh. That will not be your portion.

The book of 2 Peter 3:8 says: “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day”. In other words, God sees a thousand years as now because He does not have tomorrow to answer prayers. It is now. ‘Now Faith is….’ (Hebrews11:1) That is simply saying to you that faith is now. A thousand years are like now to God because He created time by Himself. In His domain, there is no time frame. He is the same, at all times and so whatever He promised, it is not what he is going to do or about to do. He has already done it. The devil cannot change what God has perfected in eternity. Your miracle is now! Whatever your desire is has been done and that’s why Jesus said, “It is finished.” All you have to do is, keep standing. Don’t allow the enemy to shake your faith because you already have the answer to all your questions.

No matter how it looks on the outside, your manifestation is guaranteed. What you should do in times like this is to keep on praising God. Even when it doesn’t look good, just keep on praising Him. That was what Abraham did! And God came through for him. Keep standing and keep praising God. He will certainly come through for you.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Maximising Time In God’s Presence

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 16 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Maximising Time In God’s Presence

TOPIC: Maximising Time In God’s Presence (Seeds Of Destiny 16 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord. And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Genesis 18:22-23

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When a person is lighted, he does not run out of prayer life.

MESSAGE:

It has been confirmed that what you know determines what you show. What you know determines the result you experience in any endeavour.

As it is in the physical so also it is in the spiritual. If a person comes before God without knowing what to do to maximize the time, it is possible to waste that time in His Presence without seeing results.

So, today, we will be looking at what to do to make the most of the time in God’s Presence.

  1. Time in God’s Presence is time to access His secrets.
Genesis 18:17 says, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?
Time in His presence is time to access His secrets. So, be keen on accessing His Secrets whenever you come before God.
  2. Time in His Presence is time of supplication based on accessed secrets.
God shows things to you or speaks things to you that fuels prayer. The revelation of the Word and the revelation of the spirit are meant to fuel supplication. That is why when a person is lighted, he does not run out of prayer life.
  3. Time in His Presence is time to ask and receive answers to questions especially nagging questions of life. (Jeremiah 6:16).
  4. Time in His presence is time to negotiate destinies of lives, families, communities, and nations.
That was what Abraham was doing; he was negotiating the destiny of Sodom with God (Genesis 18:17-33).

Beloved, determine to trust God to show you what you don’t know (Jeremiah 33:3). When you come to God’s Presence, ask questions trusting to receive answers. I see you receiving answers as you maximise time in God’s Presence, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: When a person is lighted, he does not run out of prayer life.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Locate light from the Scripture in any area you are trusting God for intervention, pray to God and expect answers.
  2. Intercede for your family, friends, the Church, and your nation at the place of prayer.

PRAYER: Lord, open my eyes to revelations in Your Word that will fuel my prayer life and grant me results as I wait on You Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – You Have His Mandate

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 16 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — You Have His Mandate

TOPIC: You Have His Mandate (DCLM Daily Manna 16 May 2022)

TEXT: Luke 12:49-59 (KJV)

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

KEY VERSE: “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.” – (Luke 12:51,52)

MESSAGE:

The social media is awash today with stories of those who have become outcast simply because they turned from their former religion to embrace Christianity. Increasingly, many people are being rejected by their families on account of their decision to give their lives to Christ. It did not start today. Following and serving the Lord has never been a tea party.

No doubt, obedience to the gospel would cause religious division within families, among friends, and wherever men would seek to obey traditional religions and feelings instead of God’s word. Jesus pointedly told His listeners that the gospel would bring great division among Jewish families.

All who have decided to follow Christ must, therefore, count the cost, having been forewarned. Rather than regret their decision and complain as a result of the persecution they face in their families, they are to pray and have total reliance on God for the grace to carry on. Although Jesus had said there would be division, He is always present to help believers in times of need.

When Peter focused on Jesus, he walked with his shoulders high. He enjoyed the bliss of supernatural experience. But when he gave attention to the distraction of the wind, fear gripped him and he started to sink. Since you have stepped out in faith by deciding to serve Jesus, do not end up in fear. Stretch forth your hand to Him, and He will hold you up, always.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
There is corresponding grace for every responsibility God gives a believer.
