Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Glory And The Supernatural

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 24 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Glory And The Supernatural

TOPIC: The Glory And The Supernatural (Seeds Of Destiny 24 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. John 2:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where the glory flows, supplies are effortless.

MESSAGE:

The glory is the secret of the supernatural. The supernatural display of God at the wedding in Cana of Galilee happened because the glory was in manifestation.
Now, what does the glory do?

  1. The glory is the sponsor of creative miracles (John 2:1-11). When water turned into wine, that was a creative miracle. We have heard of creative miracles in our services – God releasing new hearts, kidneys for people, short legs growing out, etc., at the frequency of the glory.
  2. The glory triggers the initiation of new beginnings. It was the beginning of miracles in the Ministry of Jesus, and it began by the glory (John 2:11). When the glory manifests, new things begin – new homes, careers, opportunities, etc.
  3. The glory is the secret of supernatural supply. Where the glory flows, supplies are effortless (John 2:7-8).
  4. The glory is the secret of deliverance from danger and death. When the children of Israel ganged up against Moses, the glory of the Lord arose and defended Moses from them (Numbers 16:42).
  5. The glory of the Lord activates the vengeance and judgment of God. Witches and wizards, occultists, agents of the devil, etc. are judged when the glory manifests (Numbers 16:42-48). Anywhere the glory manifests, the wicked are unsafe.

The glory of God will bring new things into your life. Your enemies shall be judged and supernatural supplies will flow effortlessly in your direction at the frequency of the glory.

Remember this: Where the glory flows, supplies are effortless.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Spend time with God at the place of worship and prayer.
  2. Ask God for the release of the benefits of the glory mentioned in today’s text.
  3. Avoid the lifestyle of sin; sin makes a person to fall short of the glory (Romans 3:23).

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You give me a heart that will please You permanently. Show me Your glory Lord and cause me to experience the benefits of Your glory, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – No Tolerance For Apostasy

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 24 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — No Tolerance For Apostasy

TOPIC: No Tolerance For Apostasy (DCLM Daily Manna 24 May 2022)

TEXT: Deuteronomy 13:12-18 (KJV)

12 If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the Lord thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,

13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

14 Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;

15 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

16 And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the Lord thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

17 And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;

18 When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the Lord thy God.

KEY VERSE: “And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers” (Deuteronomy 13:17).

MESSAGE:

One of the widely accepted messages today is the message of tolerance and respect of other people’s ways of life. It is believed that since we all have different opinions, the only way we can have world peace is when we love and learn to tolerate others, no matter what they believe. It is this modernists’ view that encourages moral perversions such as sodomy, lesbianism, transgender, etc., that are prevalent in our society today. Christian love and tolerance do not accommodate such abominable worldviews.

From the text, the children of Israel are not to tolerate any form of apostasy. Those who turn away from the true God to embrace idolatrous worship are not to be accommodated. Such base fellows and all those who choose to follow them must be completely destroyed after due enquiry has been made to establish the truth of apostasy among them. This is because God holds the purity of His people so dear that He will not allow anything to defile them.

While Christians are called upon to love everyone, it must be without compromise and tolerance of evil. Love without rebuke is weak, permissive and indulgent. True love must be complemented by truth, righteousness and holiness.

As believers, we are duty bound to help one another preserve the sanctify of the worship of God by ensuring we do not aid any son of ‘belial’ in our midst who seeks to corrupt others as well. There must be no tolerance for evil.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
True love does not tolerate evil.

TREM Devotional – Acknowledge The Good Things In Your Life

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 23 May 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Acknowledge The Good Things In Your Life

TOPIC: Acknowledge The Good Things In Your Life (TREM Devotional 23 May 2022)

“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Philemon 1:6 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Christ is in you! The communication of your faith will become effective, productive, and successful when you acknowledge every good thing that is in you. In other words, acknowledge that Christ is in you and your faith will become effective and productive. Don’t acknowledge the bad! Acknowledge the good which is in you, in Christ Jesus. Are there good things in you? Acknowledge them! And the God that you and I serve will ensure that they come to pass. You have Christ in you! Acknowledge Him! Every morning when you wake up, declare that it is the day the Lord has made. Declare that it is a good day because only good comes from God.

Daily, choose to rejoice and be glad because you will take the benefits that each day brings. Declare that you are the righteousness of God, therefore, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Declare that you are blessed going out and you are blessed coming in. Declare that you are walking in the favour of God. You cannot be destroyed! Evil bows before you and the wicked bows at your gate.

Acknowledge the good things that are available to you in Christ. Make it your lifestyle! Acknowledge the good things! Say it to yourself. Say it to your family! Even if bad things are happening around you, don’t acknowledge them, only acknowledge the good things. The God that promised them will bring them to pass in your life.

Every scourge of failure in your life is terminated. Every plan of the enemy to make you a failure will not see the light of the day. You will walk in success and dominion. The deposit of God in you will set you apart amongst equals. You will take your portion in the land of the living. You will never be stranded. Nothing will cut short your life! You will live till you fulfill your years. And your hand will not bury your children.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Your Passion And Your Vision

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 23 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Your Passion And Your Vision

TOPIC: Your Passion And Your Vision (Seeds Of Destiny 23 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel. Acts 7:23

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where there is vision without passion, there is bankruptcy of motion.

MESSAGE:

Vision is the revelation of God’s plan for a person’s life. When a person comes to the point of understanding God’s plan for his or her life, that person is at the point of vision.

One of the ways you can arrive at vision is by discovering your heart’s passion.

Take note of these two things regarding passion.

  1. The Passion of the heart is clue to the purpose of life. Whatever is a passion in your heart is connected to the purpose of your life. Hence, passion is a foundation for vision. It came to Moses’ heart to visit his people – it was a passion that revealed his purpose (Acts 7:23).
  2. Passion is your vehicle to your portion in life. Passionless people are portion-less people.

Now, what is passion? Passion can find expression in the problem you are yearning to solve. Your passion is what will not leave your heart alone.

What is the connection between vision and passion?

  1. Passion influences vision and fuels drive.
What is your passion soon becomes your vision and then begins to drive you. It is possible to have vision without passion. And where there is vision without passion, there is bankruptcy of motion; nothing changes.
  2. Passion fuels pursuit and persistence.
Where a man has passion, there he would not lack pursuit. The passion of your heart makes you to pursue and persist in vision.

Remember this: Where there is vision without passion, there is bankruptcy of motion.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Maintain the Presence of God, the Consuming Fire; you cannot be around fire and be cold (Proverbs 13:20).
  2. Associate with passionate people.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You draw me closer to You. Set my heart on fire Lord, and cause me to fulfil my vision and purpose for life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Courage For The Truth

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 23 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Courage For The Truth

TOPIC: Courage For The Truth (DCLM Daily Manna 23 May 2022)

TEXT: 2 Chronicles 18:12-27 (KJV)

12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of their’s, and speak thou good.

13 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the Lord?

16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.

17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?

18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

19 And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith?

21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

22 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee.

23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?

24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;

26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.

27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the Lord spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.

KEY VERSE: “And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak” (2 Chronicles 18:13).

MESSAGE:

The most common game at play in our world today is the game of flattery and sycophancy. When people lack the courage to tell the truth as it is, they resort to flattery and false praise. This is either out of the fear of what telling the truth might cause them or because of the gain they hope to derive from their flatteries. The result is usually sour and bitter as the whole society suffers from it.

King Jehoshaphat in the preceding verses had persuaded Ahab to consult from the prophets if it was okay for them to confront Ramoth-Gilead in battle. The four hundred favourite prophets of King Ahab all in unison gave the prophecy Ahab would love to hear. They encouraged him to go ahead and assured him of victory. Not satisfied, Jehoshaphat asked to know if there was no other prophet whom they could inquire from. Reluctantly, Ahab sent for Micaiah, who spoke the truth to the king, not fearing his wrath. He would rather incur the wrath of the king than join in the game of flattery and sycophancy. This is courage!

Whilst many people today lack the courage to speak the truth to their friends, spouses, bosses and colleagues, believers should always speak the truth at all times. Truth will preserve from destruction while flattery and sycophancy will lead to damnation. Ahab ignored the truth spoken by the courageous prophet, Micaiah, and met his waterloo in the battlefield! Love the truth and be bold to speak it at all times.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Brave men are not afraid to tell the truth at any time!

TREM Devotional – Nothing Is Impossible With God

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 22 May 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Nothing Is Impossible With God

TOPIC: Nothing Is Impossible With God (TREM Devotional 22 May 2022)

“Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him”. Genesis 17:17-19 (KJV)

 MESSAGE:

Beloved, how often have we tried to tell God how impossible our situation is when we are supposed to tell the situation how immensely possible our God is? Abraham was telling himself where in this world will I ever make it? How can it be?” God replied “shut your mouth. Abraham, it has nothing to do with you. Abraham, it is not over yet. Your heir apparent is coming out of your loins. Out of the very place where you said was dead, your heir will come. It is not over yet. You will be blessed in the same place. God was saying to Abraham, “I am not talking about a child. I am talking about multitude around the world”.

Child of God, if we mortal men are so concerned about His work here on earth, how much more is the God that owns us concerned about us. I assure you that He is more concerned about you than you are about Him. So, relax! God has so much in stock for you. You can’t be frustrated! Simply hold on to the unfailing word of God. He is more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think. The secret is to believe Him and not look on to the situation you are in presently. The bible says whatever you are seeing right now is temporary. That means it is subject to change.

Child of God, believe God because He is faithful from generation to generation and He cannot fail. If He did not fail Abraham when all hope seemed lost, then He cannot fail you. He is God and He does not change. What would you believe God for today if you knew His faithfulness and you are sure He would not fail? What will you ask Him for if you knew that He will surely give it? What will you request from Him if you were certain he would not refuse you? I assure you he will answer, and you will testify.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Mystery Of The Blessing

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 22 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Mystery Of The Blessing

TOPIC: The Mystery Of The Blessing (Seeds Of Destiny 22 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: Numbers 6:23-24

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The blessing covers and shields you from the effect of adverse climate.

MESSAGE:

The Blessing of God is a mysterious Divine force that produces positive mysterious results. One thing we need to know is that the blessing of God is a cure to the challenges of man. That was why in ancient times, people desperately fought to get the Blessing. Jacob fought to overtake Esau and got the Blessing. He also wrestled with God until the break of day in Genesis 32:24; what was he fighting for? He was fighting for the Blessing.

Many Christians today don’t know the value of the Blessing, so they take things for granted.

What is the mystery of the Blessing?

  1. The Blessing is existence in the realm of Divine interest in life’s welfare. When a person is blessed, he has become a focal point for the interest of God (Genesis 26:1-16).
  2. The Blessing is a realm of access to Divine guidance and direction. Blessed people are not left to exist by trial and error; the steps they take matter to God (Genesis 26:2).
  3. The Blessing offers Divine covering and immunity against climatic, economic or environmental factors. The Blessing covers and shields you from the effect of adverse climate; spiritual and natural climate, the economy of the environment where you are, etc. (Genesis 26:12).
  4. The Blessing is the fertilizer for supernatural supplies- inexplicable supplies. It is the fertilizer for unnatural supplies (Genesis 26:14).
  5. The Blessing is a supernatural force for unstoppable progress, growth and greatness (Genesis 26:13). While the process was on, no witch born from hell could stop Isaac. They cannot stop you.

Beloved, never exist without the Blessing of God.

Remember this: The Blessing covers and shields you from the effect of adverse climate.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Value the Blessing; endeavour to be part of the Blessing Sunday Services in church.
  2. Maintain covenant practices; tithing, giving to advance the Kingdom, giving to the less privileged, etc.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You establish me in the Blessing. I soar above the storm of scarcity ravaging the world, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 40-42

QUOTE: The Blessing of God travels in the vehicle of Divine direction or instructions. Culled from “PURPOSE, PRODUCTS, PATHWAYS TO THE BLESSING” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: It snows metal on planet Venus! There are two types that have been found, galena and bismuthinite.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The Blessing of the Lord becomes evident in your life in every realm in Jesus Name.

TOPIC: The Love We Owe Him (DCLM Daily Manna 22 May 2022)

TEXT: Psalm 116:1-9 (KJV)

1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

KEY VERSE: “I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.” – (Psalm 116:1)

Love varies from person to person and people show it for different reasons. Some love more because they see it as the debt they owe the object of their love. They do not seem to have a better way of expressing their gratitude than loving so much and unashamedly.

In the text, the psalmist expressed his love for the Lord and gave the reasons for such love. He had almost been swallowed up by death due to the sickness and pain he went through that had brought him great sorrow. When all hope seemed lost, the Lord showed up to deliver him after he had cried out to Him for help. In expressing this love, he determined to walk before the Lord every day of his life.

There is no other way we can show our gratitude to the Lord for all the mercies we receive from Him every day than to love Him unreservedly. The clearest expression of our love for the Lord and our show of thanksgiving is the giving of ourselves totally to Him without holding back anything.

How real, deep and sincere is your love for the Lord? Have you given yourself wholly to Him without holding back anything? Is it your pleasure to walk daily in His presence and please Him always? Do the thanksgiving and the gifts that you bring match the mercy that you have received from the Lord? Do not forget; the more we love the Lord, the more of His grace and mercies we receive.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The Lord rightly deserves all our love.

TREM Devotional – He Has Done It

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 21 May 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – He Has Done It

TOPIC: He Has Done It (TREM Devotional 21 May 2022)

“Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.” Genesis 17:5 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Child of God, you must always recognize that you are a child of the kingdom and God has finished all that concerns you before He ever made the promise to you. All you need do is begin to walk towards that which is already perfected in God. God changed Abraham’s name and made him a father of many nations ever before it happened.

You see, when God gives you His word, that is not when He is preparing it. It is already prepared. God expects you to begin to walk towards it. It is in walking towards it that you become it. That is what faith is. He says it to tell you what has already been done in the Spirit. It is your walking towards it whether it looks like it or not, that produces what God has spoken. That is what is called faith.

Without faith, it is impossible to please God. It is impossible to be all that God made you be if you are not walking in faith. It pleases God to see His children walking towards what He has promised. If you must develop the faith that pleases God, you must read the bible daily. The word can build you up, and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:32). And faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Secondly change your thinking by the word. Let your thought align with God’s word and promises for your life. The word of God should form the content of your thoughts. Refuse a negative mindset by casting down every thought that is contrary to the finished work of Christ on the cross. Don’t forget also to continually build up yourself in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 14:2. This way you will re-program your mind and keep it in perfect alignment with what God has already done.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Products Of A Purposeful Fast

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 21 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Products Of A Purposeful Fast

TOPIC: The Products Of A Purposeful Fast (Seeds Of Destiny 21 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The fast services your spiritometer.

MESSAGE:

It has been confirmed that understanding purpose is key to power. Nothing is powerful until something is purposeful (Genesis 32:24). Many people fast for different reasons: some fast to fulfil a religious obligation, some fast because of emotional trauma – when food loses both taste and appeal, but the productive fast is the spiritual and purposeful fast.

So, today, we shall be looking at the purpose of a purposeful spiritual fast. When we fast purposefully, what do we expect it to achieve?

  1. Prayer fire intensification for drastic Divine intervention. The fast causes prayer fire to be intensified (Esther 4:16).
  2. Spiritual authority boost for victory over enemy forces. If you want to exercise or move your authority to another level in order to be able to deal with certain kinds of demons, you must understand how to fast (Matthew 17:21).
  3. Spiritual strength increase. You increase in spiritual strength in the course of the fast (Isaiah 40:31). When you fast, what defeated you yesterday cannot defeat you today because your strength increased.
  4. Physical vitalization and health restoration. The fast vitalizes you physically. Health renewal and restoration (Isaiah 58:8).
  5. Spiritual yoke and bondage destruction (Isaiah 58:6).
  6. Spiritual sensitivity servicing and sharpening. The fast services your spiritometer (Isaiah 58:8, Act 13:1-2.

Now, when you fast, what do you do to amplify the effect of the fast?

  1. Pray abundantly, especially praying in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18).
  2. Load your spirit up with words. Be charged up with words; don’t let your spirit be empty (John 15:7).

Remember this: The fast services your spiritometer.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Take out at least a day in a week for fasting and prayer. Fast purposefully.
  2. Follow the action steps outlined in the text to amplify the effect of the fast.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to fast purposefully. Let every stubborn issue in my life bow out, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 37-39

QUOTE: A man who is prayerful does not beg for power; he walks in the realm of power naturally. Culled from “PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: The human nose can detect about 1 trillion smells.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Your fasting and prayer shall begin to produce drastic results in Jesus Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. DCLM Daily Manna – Story Behind The Glory

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 21 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Story Behind The Glory

TOPIC: Story Behind The Glory (DCLM Daily Manna 21 May 2022)

TEXT: 2 Chronicles 17:12-19 (KJV)

12 And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.

13 And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.

14 And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand.

15 And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.

16 And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the Lord; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour.

17 And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand.

18 And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.

19 These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.

KEY VERSE: “And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.” – (2 Chronicles 17:12)

MESSAGE:

Often times, people see and admire an already made and successful man. They see his glory as it shines bright and desire to be like him. But many do not really know the story behind such glory neither are they willing to learn from what it cost to reach such an enviable height. Successful men do not just appear out of the blues; they have stories to tell about their rise to limelight.

Our passage today gives us a glimpse of Jehoshaphat’s wealth, strength and glory. He worked assiduously hard to fortify his kingdom and sought the Lord diligently like his forefather, David. He jettisoned the prevailing lifestyle of Baal worship and refused to be influenced by the vices of the neighbouring nation of Israel. Consequently, the presence of the Lord strengthened and prospered him with the glory.

It is not enough to desire the kind of glory you see in highly prospered children of God; you should be willing to learn from their story of deep devotion and dedication to the Lord as well as their discipline and dutiful devotion to their works. Avoid all temptations to cut corners and cheat in order to be successful.

The Lord is willing to bless you with His presence and strengthen you to prosper as He did for Jehoshaphat if you too will look away from the common practices around you, fear the Lord and diligently follow His ways. Your life will be glorious and your story, sweet to tell.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Don’t just admire the glory; learn from the story behind it!
