DCLM Daily Manna – Remember The Needy

DCLM Daily Manna

Topic: Remember The Needy [DCLM Daily Manna 8 December 2020 Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Leviticus 23:9-22 (KJV)

9 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.

13 And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.

14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.

17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.

18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.

19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.

20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.

21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

Key Verse: “And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.” – (Leviticus 23:22)

MESSAGE:

Naomi and her daughter-in-law, Ruth, had just returned from Moab after losing virtually everything. In Bethlehem Judah, then, they were equivalent to the needy and strangers. Ruth, the Moabites, had to glean in the field of Boaz to meet her basic needs and that of her mother-in-law (Ruth 2:1-3).

God had this group of people in mind when He instructed the Israelites to always leave the corners of their field ‘unharvested’ and any gleaning of their harvest ‘ungathered’ for the poor and strangers. In Leviticus 19:9,10, specifically, the Lord God affirms: “when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest… thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger”.

From our text today, two feasts of holy convocation stand out. The first relates the feast of the first fruits, which also denotes the offering of the first crops harvested in a year. The second is the feast of Pentecost, which signifies thanksgiving and joy over bountiful harvest. Each of these feasts involves harvesting of crops and God’s directive was that the corner of the field and any gleaning of the harvest should be left for the needy for there would always be poor people in the land.

The children of Israel could not eat crops of their harvest until they had offered the first fruits. Today, God expects us to do the same. He expects that all His children set aside His portion first. He expects that we give Him the first place in our heart and in the form of freewill offerings, tithes, and giving for church projects.

Aside, God expects that we make provision for the needy in the church. Believers must therefore honour this age-long directive of God, especially to those of the household of faith.

Thought For The Day: Catering for the needy is God’s age-long commandment.

Siju discovered her passion for music while she was in the secondary school and had the opportunity to be active in the school’s choral group. Siju got born again at her campus fellowship while studying Pharmacy at the University of Lagos, and her passion for gospel music took a deeper dimension when she joined the campus fellowship choir. Siju has remained passionately committed as a music minister over the years, and she currently lives in London where she is a worship leader at her local church, Winners Chapel  London.

Siju Crown is now set for the next move of God in her music ministry with the release of her maiden single ‘It’s My turn’, which is born out of a deep assurance in God that he will perform his good word towards us at the very time we choose to trust in him.

Lyrics: Wonderful Wonder – Osa Ekhator

Light of the world, you hold the past and future in your hands
You rose and conquered darkness, in this lies our confidence
You move with signs and wonders, greater than we’ve ever known
Tread upon troubled waters, calm the raging storm
You are the source of life; you say the word and dry bones rise
You paid the price so we can freely worship Adonai
Creation testifies that you are the fairest of all
Beauty of heaven, you shine brighter than the sun

Oceans roar, mountains quake
At the sound of your name
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are
Your great power, we proclaim
You are Lord, we declare
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are

King of the angel armies, perfect Lord in all your ways
Who by his tender mercies put our broken lives in place
Our God who never slumbers, always watching over us
None can deny that you are sovereign over all

Oceans roar, mountains quake
At the sound of your name
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are
Your great power, we proclaim
You are Lord, we declare
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are

We long to sing your praises, to see you highly lifted
Lay down our pride and bow, for you are worthy
No place we’d rather be in, than in your holy Presence
Standing awe of you, we’re singing holy

We long to sing your praises, to see you highly lifted
Lay down our pride and bow, for you are worthy
No place we’d rather be in, than in your holy Presence
Standing awe of you, we’re singing holy

We long to sing your praises, to see you highly lifted
Lay down our pride and bow, for you are worthy
No place we’d rather be in, than in your holy Presence
Standing awe of you, we’re singing holy

Oceans roar, mountains quake
At the sound of your name
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are
Your great power, we proclaim
You are Lord, we declare
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are

Oceans roar, mountains quake
At the sound of your name
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are
Your great power, we proclaim
You are Lord, we declare
Wonderful wonder, that’s who you are

Oh Holy Night – Michele Sweeting

Oh Holy Night - Michele Sweeting

One of the best ways to celebrate the season is sitting in front of a roaring fire, sipping on sparkling apple cider and listening to Christmas classics playing in the background. Gospel artist and gifted songstress Michele Sweeting loves the spirit of the holidays, especially the celebration of the birth of the Savior.

The consummate vocalist and graduate of the Big Apple’s renowned Music & Art High School is known for her rousing performances including her first single, a rendition of “Center of My Joy,” which launched her career and took New York City by storm. Now, the Pastor of The People’s Church and the anointed worship leader has just added a brand new holiday favorite to the Christmas collection with the release of her new single, “Oh Holy Night.” The song is currently available on all digital outlets.

Oh Holy Night,” penned in 1847 by Adolphe Adam, regularly tops the list of best loved Christmas carols. But few of those renditions are in English and in Spanish. That was a unique twist that Michele gave her memorable interpretation of the hymn, “Oh Holy Night/Oh Noche Santa.” “I always knew that when I recorded the song, I wanted it to have that larger than life sound,” shares the songstress. “Raymond Diaz, who has worked with Mariah Carey and Enrique Iglesias, and who I know through Sanctuary Church with Rev. Dr. Raymond Rivera, produced the song and gave it a brilliant orchestration; he incorporated a beautiful string arrangement capturing exactly what I wanted.”

The track is already receiving love online and Michele is hoping that believers and non-believers alike will be moved by its life-changing message. “‘Oh Holy Night’ has always grabbed my heart because it’s about the Savior’s birth,” says Sweeting. “During Christmas, many are focused on the popular culture of the holidays instead of being focused on the Gift on the Tree.” The song is also special to her because she heard it at home as a child. She says, “When I was growing up, I remember my mother playing a number of versions of ‘Oh Holy Night’ by artists from The Carpenters to the Temptations to Barbra Streisand to Gladys Knight. So many artists have recorded the song and I wanted it to be part of my musical tapestry as well.”

Michele has released a number of songs that have become part of her musical tapestry. Her first release, Center of My Joy, spawned the single – of the same name – and saw the artist peak on the New York Gospel charts for 6 weeks at the top spot. Center of My Joy was followed by Lamb of God, a sophomore release which solidified her standing as a Contemporary Gospel Recording Artist. That project was followed by her single, “Only by Grace,” which dropped in the summer of 2019. Her latest single, “Only See You”, peaked at #43 on the Billboard Gospel 100 Chart. Michele has been seen singing her songs on Christian TV, appearing on programs such as Babbie’s House, Atlanta Live, Hour of Harvest and Bobby Jones Presents. She’s traveled the world singing God’s praises in places like Russia, Egypt, Trinidad and Barbados.

Known as a pastor, psalmist and educator, she recently launched The People’s Church, a ministry birthed through COVID-19 under the covering of her Bishop, Rev. Dr. Raymond Rivera, founder of the Council of Holistic Christian Churches and Ministries (CHCCM). She, her husband, Rev. Louis DeCaro, Jr., Ph.D., and their son are the founders of Loaves and Fishes Ministries as well. “Professor Michele,” as she is affectionately known, is also an adjunct professor at The City College of New York and John Jay College, where she teaches English and Literature. In addition, Michele is a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) at Walden University and a two-time co-author of the anthologies, It’s Possible! Living Beyond Limitations, and recently, Crystal Clear Sisters: Walking in Purpose.

We Give You – Benestelle

We Give You - Benestelle

“I observed the happenings of the world in the last few months, looking at pictures of various events around the globe, the troubling news, the palpable uncertainty and the visible fear in the air.

“One thing powerful touched me: in these times, people called upon the Lord in every country, creed and language more than ever before.

“Worldwide, people are singing and worshipping Jesus more than ever. And with this, despite the odds, people were achieving exploits, starting & acquiring businesses and scoring outstanding testimonies. I looked at myself and noticed I exceeded my goals before November and all I could say was “Lord, we give you glory!”

We Give You is a victory sound for all times! We indeed give the glory to an ever faithful and timeless God!” – Benestelle.

Omemma – Soyesings

Omemma - Soyesings

Omemma is a  new single by Saintsquare records ever radiant female Gospel singer and songwriter, Adefolake Odejimi popularly known as SoyeSings, Produced By Memamusic.

SoyeSings titles this one “Omemma” which is a top tier language in the eastern part of Nigeria called the Igbo language. It translates to “someone who does good” and in this context that person is our Heavenly Father, who forever remains faithful and true to his children, showing love abundantly till eternity.

This dynamic minstrel is known for her sensational and Holy Ghost induced approach to worship and praise, and “Omemma” is a song which totally exemplifies these qualities. A song that not only creates a spiritual and mental picture of heaven, it actually has the power to transmogrify one’s whole being, taking and leaving you all alone in His presence.

“Omemma” is a glorious song of gratitude and should be on the lips of every believer and non-believer alike. Life is spiritual, and the life we live is the Zoe of God who watches over us daily, charting our courses to ensure favour, goodness, blessings and grace finds us in our daily endeavors. It’s only reciprocal that we give him praise everyday for truly our God is a good God.

Psalm 34:8 says; Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! All we need to do is to put our utmost trust in him then surely goodness and mercy shall follow us.

What We Need is a powerful worship song that talks about our need for more of God’s power, glory, anointing and mercy. It is an inspiring song that extols God for all he has done and still do.
Inspired by 1 peter 1 vs 5 (For we are kept by the power of God through faith unto the salvation that shall be revealed in the last days/time)

We are tired of our status Quo, we want more of God’s power, glory, anointing, and mercy in this season and beyond. My prayers are that as you listen to this song it will build your faith and cause you to experience more of God.

The song was well interpreted by the prolific producer Sunny Pee.
