Dependable God ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

“Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the defensed cities of Judah, and took them.” (Isaiah 36:1)

The king of Assyria besieged Jerusalem. No one could go out and no one could come in. He locked up the place. The reason many people’s journey are prolonged is because they believe they have the power to dictate how the lives of others should go. They have slowed down some people and have drawn a line, which they have ordered others not to cross.

Some people do not fear God. The king of Assyria was one of them. He wrote an insulting letter to God. Beloved, they are still writing letters to God Almighty. Sometimes they write it with their mouths. Sometimes they do it with their attitude. But the king of Assyria wrote his own on paper. He was an educated man. but his own education killed him. He asked King Hezekiah the following questions in the letter: “Who is that God you are depending on? Have you not seen how I have destroyed other people and their gods?”

In Isaiah 37:14, King Hezekiah received the letter, went up before the LORD, spread the letter, and said to God “The King of Assyria has written you a letter. Read it.” God read the letter and his response was swift. Assyria’s king paid with his life.

The biggest mistake of your enemies is to pick on you. It is a deadly mistake! Do not look for help anywhere other than the house of God. God’s response to anyone that challenges Him in your life shall be swift.

WORDS OF WISDOM: When your enemies pick on you they pick on God – Big mistake!

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, whatsoever letter they have written to me, I spread it before You on Your altar. LORD, read it and reply them swiftly, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
