TREM Devotional – Jesus Is Our Mercy Seat

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 13 January 2022 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Jesus Is Our Mercy Seat

TOPIC: Jesus Is Our Mercy Seat

“Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God’s righteousness because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment”. Romans 3:25 (AMPC)

Jesus is our mercy seat. Only mercy can deliver you. You can’t deliver yourself without mercy. “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed…” (Lamentations 3:22 KJV)

The Lord’s mercy kept you. Everything about mercy is beautiful. Look at the life of God’s people, anytime they were going for major worship, any time they were going for war, or anytime they were doing anything significant, they always leveraged on the mercy of God. That was what Jehoshaphat and his army sang as they went into battle.

“And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:21 KJV). When Jehoshaphat was confronting the enemies that came against him, God said to him, sing, and he began to sing about the mercy of God. And in singing, he was able to dismantle the enemy.

Mercy is so powerful. Mercy is what we need in times of uncertainty. I pray that mercy will speak for you in every area of your life. The Psalmists spoke glowingly about the Mercy of God.

“For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.” (Psalms 86:13 KJV). “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.” (Psalms 86:15 KJV).

Our God is rich in Mercy. The Mercy of God is robust. But oftentimes, people talk about His judgment and forget that our God is rich in Mercy. According to the scriptures: “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” (Psalms 103:8 KJV). Because of His Mercy, it will turn around for good. Because of His Mercy, there will be testimonies.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Pattern Of God’s Work (2)

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Wednesday, January 12, 2022 | Pattern Of God’s Work (2)

Topic: Pattern Of God’s Work (2)

Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2022

Read: Genesis. 6:13-22.

MEMORISE: This Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did (Genesis 6:22).

EXPOSITION

There is no child that regularly acts contrary to the parent’s laydown rules who would enjoy the good side of such parents. No right- thinking, disciplined parent can be happy with disobedience, most especially, at the level of recalcitrance. No wonder many children find it difficult to make headway in life and their choose careers. It is imperative for children to be godly and have good relationship with their parents through willing obedience, so that they can receive parental approval and blessings.

Among the people of the then world who saw the flood, only Noah and his family found God’s favour, because they imbibed God’s righteousness and were saved. Isn’t that too pathetic that from the most likely thousands on earth, then? It would have been worse, if God didn’t get anyone, though that couldn’t have negatively affected God, either. Receive the grace to be a true representative of God, here, in Jesus’name.

We can see the Hallmark of Noah’s compliance and conformity to God’s holy standard when God eventually asked him to make an Ark. Noah was so meticulous to the extent that he carried out the task to detail without leaving out a single instruction. He used the specified wood, the measurement, and he followed the boarding order. And the Bible confirms his compliance to the pattern or description God gave him (v.22).

Deviation (do it as you wish or as it appeals to you) characterises the work of God in many people’s hands today. They no longer find it convenient to go by what God shows. People want to do it their own way, or mellow down God’s standard. Don’t we inject our own interpretations into God’s Word, and still make it look like it is God speaking? If God will not use Noah to judge us on the last day, there is that urgency to consider how we are doing His work, and make necessary amends.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Give me Your Spirit, O Lord, to always go by the picture You are showing to me in relation to Your work in my hands.

2. Deliver Your ministers from the temptation to do it as the world is doing, or showing it, O Lord.

3. Pray for CAC  Odusona Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Do Not Be Weary

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 12 January 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Do Not Be Weary

TOPIC: Do Not Be Weary

SCRIPTURE: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Many people become weary when their labour is not valued or appreciated.

Service is an established covenant pathway to authority in life and destiny. Service is key to the unction. Service attracts the anointing and power of God.

Psalm 89:20 says:
I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

David was anointed into authority and power at the frequency of service.

However, there are many temptations that hinder effective service to God.

One of these temptations is:
The temptation of weariness in service

This temptation usually happens when people are left to do all the work alone, often with little or no encouragement. This temptation can also come as a result of delayed expectations.

Galatians 6:9 says:
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Beloved, do not be tired of doing the right thing. Maybe, you are getting tired because no one notices you or appreciate what you are doing, and you say, “I have been doing this work and nobody cares. Nobody appreciates or values what I do. I am tired”. Do not be weary, and do not give up.

Many people become weary when their labour is not valued or appreciated. Or they do not see the kind of result they expect as they serve God and so they get discouraged. Their expected outcome in serving God seems not to manifest.

Sometime ago, there was a young man who gave a testimony in church. He said, one day, his mother told him, “What has your going to church done for you? What is your profit for always being in church?”

Can you imagine this kind of mother? What does she expect her son to do? To be smoking, drinking and womanising? His own mother tried to discourage him from serving God but he refused to be discouraged, and God turned his life around to the shame of the devil.

Beloved, this shows that satan can use anyone to discourage your commitment to God. Refuse to allow anyone discourage you from serving God.

REMEMBER THIS: Many people become weary when their labour is not valued or appreciated.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Refuse to be weary or tired even when your service to God is not valued or appreciated.
  2. Persist in serving God and God will bless you for your persistent service.

PRAYER: I receive the grace Lord to keep serving You despite discouragements. Help me to be focused on You and serve You to the end, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: KEEPING FAITH ALIVE (PT. 2).

QUOTE: Never allow the devil to weary you. Never allow Satan to watch you cry. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Exodus 6-10.

REFLECTION: What is most important is not who watches what you do for God or who values. What is most important is serving God from the heart with the best of your ability until you hear “Well done” at the end of the journey.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: Every spell of weariness or tiredness be destroyed off your life in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Heavenly Miracles

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 12 January 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Heavenly Miracles

TOPIC: Heavenly Miracles

TEXT: Exodus 4:27-31 (KJV)

27 And the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.

28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.

29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:

30 And Aaron spake all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

KEY VERSE: “And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people” (Exodus 4:30).

MESSAGE:

Evangelist T. L. Osborne travelled to India in 1924 with his wife shortly after their marriage. They carried the gospel of Christ to millions in India but returned without making much impact. Their message was true and powerful, and the sermons were good, but the Indians were not after good sermons or another religion they already had one. What they needed was a confirmation of the gospel by signs, miracles and wonders, which they did not have. Osborne would later take the gospel of Christ to 70 countries, including India, when the anointing manifested, to back up the Word with signs following.

Moses, who left Egypt, was presented in our text to the elders of Israel. Aaron informed the audience of the words spoken to Moses by the Lord, but that was not enough to convince them, until he performed the signs in their sight. Then they believed and bowed their heads in worship to God for they knew that their deliverance from Egypt was near.

Anyone familiar with the state of things in Egypt at this time knew it would take more than good intentions or sermons to convince Pharaoh and the Egyptian taskmasters to free Israel. That was the reason the Lord told Moses to take his rod with him for signs (Exodus 4:17).

We need signs and miracles today as evidence to the unbelieving world that Jesus is Christ. This will convince the gainsayers, correct their wrong notions about the gospel and make them accept the message of salvation.

TREM Devotional – God Will Never Abandon You

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 11 January 2022 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – God Will Never Abandon You

TOPIC: God Will Never Abandon You

“There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Joshua 1:5 (KJV)

Life can be frustrating sometimes. Especially when you look at the things you have been through, the challenges you have endured and there seems to be no result. You have paid the price! You are committed, you are dedicated, and you have lived a holy life, yet there is no result. Now you are distressed, you are frustrated, you are discouraged and you are confused.

You are wondering if God has abandoned you. Child of God, the Lord does not abandon His sheep. He has said I will never leave you, I will never abandon you. He does not jump ship simply because there is a storm. I don’t know what you are going through but I know that you will surely triumph. A massive testimony will be your portion.

When you understand that God’s perfect love for you comes with compassion, you will not be afraid of anything. You will not be afraid of being stranded because you know that you can never be stranded in Christ. When you have a revelation of his love for the believer, you will not be afraid of whatever the enemy brings against your life, be it sickness or disease. You are not an accident! There are plans He has for your life.

His compassion does not fail. It is always proved. I can feel His compassion in the world today. I wake up rejoicing every day because His compassion is new every morning, The Lord’s compassion is reaching out to ensure that you do not mourn in your family. Because of the Lord’s compassion, you will not mourn in your marriage. You will not mourn for your children. Your hands will not bury your children.

I don’t know what you are going through, but I know that His compassion will never fail you. The compassion of Christ is speaking over your life. Christ’s compassion is speaking over your family and over everything that belongs to you.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Testimonies – Boosters Of Faith

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 11 January 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Testimonies – Boosters Of Faith

TOPIC: Testimonies – Boosters Of Faith

SCRIPTURE: And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:36-37

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Testimonies are boosters of faith. Testimonies fertilize and provoke belief.

It has been established that testimonies are boosters of faith. Testimonies fertilize and provoke belief.

For example, it was a testimony that settled the mind of Mary when she was told by an angel that as a virgin, she would bring forth a child. Initially, she doubted God’s Word and said, “How shall this be?” Then the angel said,

And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 1:36-37.

It was a testimony that settled Mary’s confusion.

When David wanted to confront Goliath, Saul told him, “You are not able to confront this man. This is a man of war from his youth. You are just a little boy”. Then a testimony from the mouth of David settled Saul’s unbelief.

1 Samuel 17:32, 34-36 showed us how David gave the testimony of how he killed a bear and a lion when he was taking care of his father’s sheep. And David concluded that Goliath would also be killed like the lion and the bear.

When Saul heard this testimony, he was amazed and seemed to have said, “Ah! You mean you have killed a lion before? Go!” David said, “The God who delivered me from the lion and the bear, He will deliver me from this uncircumcised philistine”.

Beloved, I decree that God will give you a testimony that will pull down every Goliath around your life! God will give you a testimony that will change your story and the story of everyone around you, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Testimonies are boosters of faith. Testimonies fertilize and provoke belief.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Pay attention to the Acts of God (testimonies) shared in church.
  2. Rehearse what God had done in your life and in the lives of others and build your faith.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your good acts and testimonies in my life. I receive the grace to boost my faith from Your wondrous acts, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: KEEPING FAITH ALIVE (PT. 2)

QUOTE: Faith, which is a product of light, is a shield for man. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Exodus 1-5

REFLECTION: Encounters with God and His Word are the precursors of testimonies. If you don’t run out of encounters, you don’t run out of testimonies.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: The Lord grant you new and explosive testimonies in this season in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Divine Weapon

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 11 January 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Divine Weapon

TOPIC: Divine Weapon

TEXT: Exodus 4:18-26 (KJV)

18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

19 And the Lord said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.

20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

21 And the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.

25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.

26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.

KEY VERSE: “And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand” (Exodus 4:20).

MESSAGE:

John F. Kennedy, a former president of the United States, was quoted to have said, “The weapons of war must be abolished before they abolish us”. He was assassinated by a gunman with a rifle fitted with a telescope.

The use of physical weapons by the unregenerate results in unjustified destruction but divine weapons are designed to accomplish God’s holy purposes.

From our text, Moses set out on his mission as God’s prophet to liberate the Jews from the Egyptian bondage. He was not dressed like a musketeer. Neither did he set up a camp to train an army of liberators; nor was there any need for mercenaries. He went as a family man with his wife and two sons. He only took a rod, rode on an ass, on a journey of faith to confirm the Scripture that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

God had given Moses all the assurances. With all questions answered and all excuses and doubts removed, Moses was now ready to ride on in the strength of the Lord. At eighty, he had overcome the immaturity and infirmities of his youth. He now knew better. Never would he run ahead of God again. Though he was convinced all along that he was the chosen one to liberate Israel, he had seen the fire of his youthful exuberance ebb out when he made the first attempt to save Israel forty years earlier.

We need not hurry but wait for God, follow His method, use only the weapons He prescribes and the way He directs us. It is then that victory is certain.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
God’s weapons always guarantee victory.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Avoid All Acts Of Sin

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional |  Monday, January 10, 2022 | Avoid All Acts Of Sin

Topic:  Avoid All Acts Of Sin

Date: Monday, January 10, 2022

Read: 1 John. 3:1-6

MEMORISE: But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth (Colossians 3:8).

EXPOSITION

To transgress means “to step across” or “to go beyond a set boundary or limit.” It indicates one missing the mark. It is straying off in any direction; following the wrong course that most likely results is not reaching the desired goal. Transgressing is crossing over a set boundary or limit. Sin is to transgress those boundaries God has set for us, or to miss the target He sets for us.

I John. 3:4 says, Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. The New Testament Greek word translated “lawlessness” means ‘without’ law’, or ‘against the law’. This implies that sin is the active violation of God’s law and basic moral principles. This refers to actions that are not just outside the bounds of God’s law, but that are in deliberate rebellion against those laws, deliberately trampling on, and rejecting that boundary.

God created and owns the entire universe, and its belongs to Him (Psalm 24:1). If we will live in it successfully, there are do’s and don’ts attached to it. There are delays and obstacles on men’s paths, today, because they are living their lives as they want and not as God requires. God isn’t happy with such. You cannot be wallowing in sin as still expect that God’s grace will multiply for,  and in you at the same time,; it is not possible (Rom. 6:1).

Anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy and filthy language are some of the agents if the devil that limit one’s dream and vision. If there will be great manifestation of the Spirit of God in you, you need to take off all acts of sin, both in the public.

The journey of life will always be smooth and better when we start with God and carry Him along. However, we must do away with every manifestation of sin on the journey of life, to be able to reach out glorious destinations. Sin, assisted by self, is a terribly lethal weapon against every destiny; ask Samson. It has great power to bring limitation and  stagnancy to man’s life. Withstand the devil, but don’t wait for sin; flee! (Cor. 6:18; 10:14; I Tim. 6:11; 2 Tim. 2:22; Jas. 4:7,8; I Peter 5:8,9.) We can do all things through Christ (Phil. 4:13).

PRAYER POINTS:

1. I put to death every nature of sin in my life, in Jesus’ mighty name.

2. Every manifestation of carnality in my life, not permitting me to please God, out of my life, in Jesus’name.

3. O Lord, let the spirit of holiness permeate the leaders and the led of Your Church in the land, so that we can be ready vessels for the most- awaited end – time revival.

TREM Devotional – Nothing Works Against The Believer

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 10 January 2022 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Nothing Works Against The Believer

TOPIC: Nothing Works Against The Believer

“So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us?” Romans 8:31 (TPT)

How would you like to know that you are in the will of God and yet it seems as if God has gone on vacation? If that is your situation, I want to encourage you today. Don’t quit! Keep standing! No matter what you are faced with, the God that you and I serve will always vindicate you. His Word shall become flesh in every area of your life. The devil is a defeated foe. He doesn’t have the final say.

Maybe no one is willing to even give you a chance. And presently, you are so devastated because you are not getting the result as expected. Hang in there! God will come through for you! Right now, you may be facing situations that are contrary to your expectations. I call it seasons of contradiction. You are believing one thing and you are seeing another. You are standing in faith and you are praying, but you are facing contradiction. It appears as if God will not answer. But I want to assure you that you will not be put to shame or ridiculed.

There may be many contradictions in your life right now. But I announce to you that when it is all said and done, you will have a testimony. I want you to know child of God that there is nothing like hopelessness for the believer. Despite the pressure, we are not prisoners of hopelessness. We have hope! That is the destiny of the believer! That is our heritage!

Christ in you is the hope of glory. The word hope means a joyful confident expectation that things will turn out well. No matter what is happening around you, you are standing on the graceful ground. That is an assurance. So we are not hopeless! We are a people of hope! We have a confident expectation that it will turn around at the end of the day for our glory. God will get glory out of it. Nothing works against the believer! There is a bounce-back mechanism for a child of God. There is nothing like a fatal failure for any child of God.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Conviction – A Pathway To Faith

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 10 January 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Conviction – A Pathway To Faith

TOPIC: Conviction – A Pathway To Faith

SCRIPTURE: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Revelation must be translated into conviction for faith to happen.

In Christianity, faith is a critical subject. For a Christian to live a successful Christian life, faith must be in place. Faith is one subject that must not be overlooked if a Christian must live a successful and glorious life on earth. For example, all the men of impact in Scriptures were men of faith (Hebrews 11:2).

Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to our faith if we must have a solid destiny both in this world and in the world to come.

Now, how is faith developed?

Faith is developed by the establishment of conviction.
Revelation must be translated into conviction for faith to happen.

Romans 10:10 says:
For with the heart man believeth…

The Word of God that you read is useless until it establishes a belief in you. So, if you get a revelation from the Word of God, and you are excited about it, it must produce a conviction in you for it to translate into faith.

Your convictions make you take steps that may make people to be afraid for you whereas you are not afraid for yourself.

For example, people may be looking for what to eat but your revelation and conviction from scriptures showed you that it is not what enters your hand that determines your welfare but what leaves you in the direction of God. So, on the basis of that rugged insight and brutal conviction, despite the fact that there is shortage, you are releasing towards God’s direction. This confirms the existence of faith.

Beloved, until your faith is backed up with relevant action, it is a waste of confession.

REMEMBER THIS: Revelation must be translated into conviction for faith to happen.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Let the revelation of the Word of God in you produce conviction in your heart.
  2. Take practical action based on your conviction.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the insight in Your Word. I ask for grace for the revelation of Your Word to produce conviction that will lead me to faith-based actions, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: Guilt is a killer of faith. When you are haunted by guilt, there are times you will want to make certain decrees and the devil will say, “Shut up! Remember what you did last time!” Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Genesis 46-50.

REFLECTION: Company with God is key to belief in God. People only doubt the character of the one they don’t know very well. To know Him is to believe Him.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: In 2022, I decree the release of a fresh baptism of the Spirit of faith in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Cry For Justice

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 10 January 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Cry For Justice

TOPIC: Cry For Justice

TEXT: Psalm 10:12-18 (KJV)

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

KEY VERSE: “Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none” (PSALM 10:15).

MESSAGE:

In July 2018, a horrifying video began to circulate on social media. It showed two women and two young children being led away at gunpoint by a group of soldiers, one of them having a baby strapped to her back. The blindfolded victims were forced to the ground and shot 22 times. The government initially dismissed the video as fake news. But the BBC African Eye, through forensic analysis of the footage, proved exactly where this happened, when it happened, and who were responsible for the killings. This eventually forced the government to arrest the culprits and commence a court trial.

Crying to God becomes the only option when all appeal to man fails. In our text, the psalmist did exactly that. He appealed to God to intervene by seeking out evil people with a view to exposing and punishing their wicked deeds. He pointed out the poor and the fatherless as those mostly affected by oppressors possibly because they have no one to protect them.

Evil is present everywhere. It is in the heart of every unregenerate man. Wickedness, oppression and injustice can be found in the history of all nations. It shows the extent to which people can go in brutality, especially when there is no authority to hold them accountable or when the authorities themselves are culpable in the matter.

This leaves us with no option but to cry unto God who will by no means justify the wicked nor condemn the innocent. The Lord has an arrangement in place to bring evildoers to account and mete out eternal punishment on them.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
God will judge those who oppress the poor.
