“Defender is born” is a Christmas song which was inspired by the Holy Spirit just to remind us that Jesus is not just a saviour but also a defender of the defenseless. A lot of people are looking for one true person to hear them out in their lives situation and fight for them.

Jesus is a defender and every Christmas season and more often, we need to remind ourselves that Jesus Christ our defender is born. Alleluia

Honor God’s Voice Above All ~ Joyce Meyer

joyce-meyer

Topic: Honor God’s Voice Above All [December 8, 2016]

[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. — Jeremiah 17:7

One attitude that welcomes the presence of God into our lives is the attitude that honors Him above everyone and everything else. Our attitudes need to say, God, no matter what anyone else tells me, no matter what I think myself, no matter what my own plan is, if I clearly hear You say something and I know it’s You, I will honor You—and honor what You say—above everything else.
Sometimes we give more consideration to what people tell us than to what God says. If we pray diligently and hear from God, and then start asking people around us what they think, we honor their human opinions above God’s. Such an attitude will prevent our being able to consistently hear God’s voice. If we are ever going to develop an ability to hear from God and be led by His Spirit as a way of life, we have to stop listening to so many opinions from so many people and begin trusting the wisdom God deposits in our hearts. There is a time to receive good counsel, but needing the approval of people will keep us out of the will of God.

The devil wants us to think we are not capable of hearing from God, but God’s Word says that is not true. The Holy Spirit dwells inside of us because God wants us to be led by the Spirit in a personal way and to hear His voice for ourselves as He leads and guides us.

In the verse for today, God says we will be blessed when we look to Him. According to Jeremiah 17:5-6, severe consequences come to those who trust in the frailty of mere men and women, but blessed are those who trust in and honor the Lord. Good things happen if we listen to God. He wants to be our strength and we must honor His Word above all else.

God’s Word for You Today: Hear what others have to say, but listen to God.

The Message Of Faith ~ Pastor Chris Oyakilome

pastor-chris-oyakhilome

Topic: The Message Of Faith [Thursday, December 8th]

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).

A clear understanding and communication of the message of faith is important, because faith is a principle by which we live in the Kingdom of God. The Bible says, “…the just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). It shows you just how important faith is. You can’t understand and apply your righteousness in Christ without faith.

In Hebrews 11:6, the Bible says it’s impossible to please God without faith. By faith we activate or appropriate the blessings and provisions of Christ made available to us in the Gospel. It’s the reason Jesus taught the message of faith when He walked the earth; He taught the people the principle of asking and receiving. He said to them, “…whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).

He said if you have faith, nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20). Recall His remarks to many of those He ministered to; He said to them, “Your faith has made you whole.” Don’t be amongst those who underrate the message of faith. It’s the message of victory and triumph. It’s the message Jesus brought, which He’s committed to us to use in changing our world. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to the world, and bringing us the message of faith through Him. Faith is stirred in my heart even now, and I’m strengthened in my spirit, and positioned for the life of endless victories and possibilities. I’ve overcome the world; I’m more than a conqueror; Christ is glorified in, and revealed through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Study: || Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. ||

|| Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. ||

|| Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ||

Things Your Crown Will Do For You (2): Tobijah ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Things Your Crown Will Do For You (2): Tobijah [December 8, 2016]

“And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah…” (Zechariah 6:14)

Tobijah means “distinguished of the Lord”. The crown on your head makes you to stand out conspicuously among your mates and even your superiors. God will make you stand out in your family, business, education, ministry etc this year.

A distinguished man in the Bible is King David. Because of a small boy, Prophet Samuel and the whole family of Kish could not sit down until David arrived from the field. Your family will not be able to strive without you. You will be relevant. The Bible tells us that Samuel anointed David with oil in the midst of his brethren. David prevailed over Goliath because God has put a crown on his head. God has also put a crown on your head so you will prevail over every Goliath in your marriage, job, education, salvation etc in Jesus name.

FURTHER READING: 1 Samuel 17:50, 16:11b

PRAYER/CONFESSION: O Lord, make me to be distinguished. Let me be relevant in the society and in my generation in Jesus name. Amen.

WORDS OF WISDOM: The Crown is the distinguishing factor.

Get The Two Together ~ Kenneth Copeland

kenneth-copeland

Topic: Get The Two Together [December 8, 2016]

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. – Colossians 2:6-7

Established in the faith and abounding with thanksgiving. These days it seems that’s a rare combination.

A lot of people have been taught faith over the last several years, and a lot of people have been taught to abound with thanksgiving. But it’s been hard to set the two together. Faith folks want to confess the Word all the time, but they don’t praise God very much. And those who like to praise God just want to jump and shout and dance and have a good time in the Lord. You can’t get them to get very serious about the Word.

Success comes from combining the two.

So, do it! Put them together in your life. When you run into a challenge, don’t just stand around grim-faced and white-knuckled holding on to your faith. Raise your hands high and praise. Start thanking God in the midst of what’s happening around you. Keep thanking Him for the answer until it comes.

Instead of just standing on the Word, let the joy of the Lord enable you to dance around on it a little. It will get you where you’re going a whole lot faster…and both you and God will have a much better time on the way.

Do Not Play God ~ Pastor William Kumuyi

kumuyi

Topic: Do Not Play God [December 8, 2016]

Text: Matthew 18:23-35

Key Verse: “Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?” (Matthew18:33).

It is common these days to hear people say, “what goes round comes around” or the scriptural statement that, “whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap”. What that suggests is that life is a cycle in which what you do, or do not do, eventually have an effect on you one way or the other. In fact, human relationships and actions are generally interwoven that one person’s actions can have a cyclical effect. Our experience has shown that as we engage in day-to-day interactions, there are bound to be offences. But what lubricates the wheel of human relationships at such instances is the oil of forgiveness that we apply.

In the parable given by our Lord Jesus Christ on the unforgiving servant, we see the principal character, an undeserving recipient of forgiveness and favour from his master whom he owed. Unfortunately, this same servant came across a fellow servant that owed him less and decided to be cruel to him. Despite the plea from his fellow servant to exercise patience and allow him more time to pay the debt, he refused but put him into prison. It was payback time for him when the report got to his own master who had earlier forgiven him. He was not only reprimanded for wickedness and his lack of forgiveness, he was also thrown into prison. Our Lord, through this parable further emphasizes teaching on forgiveness.

He believes that if God could forgive us our sins (so many and so damning), we must forgive our fellow men of whatever offences they may commit against us. The high point of the teaching is that if we fail to forgive, we are only attracting God’s displeasure.

Thought for the day: Forgiveness prevents the consequences of un forgiveness.

It Is Time To Overflow I ~ Pastor E.A Adeboye

open-heaven-2016

Topic: It Is Time To Overflow I [Thursday 8, December 2016]

Memorise: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2

Read: 2 Samuel 6:10-12 (KJV)

10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

Bible in One Year: Exodus 27-28, Psalms 119:17-32

MESSAGE:

God is not a poor God, He is wealthier than we can ever imagine. He owns all the natural resources on earth, all the gases in the air and all the elements in the universe, just to mention a few. Can you imagine if scientists are able to get a tiny piece of the sun. Imagine how much they will sell it at an auction. The Almighty God owns the entire sun and all elements in the universe.  A God as rich as this will definitely give His children more than enough resources to take care of their needs. He lacks nothing, so His children should lack nothing too. However, this is not the case in reality. We see many Christians these days wallowing in poverty for years, in fact, many unbelievers don’t want to become born again because they are afraid of poverty. God is not happy with this. More often than not, these Christians are the cause of their own predicament.

God in His Word has given us several instructions and principles that will guarantee our wealth, but He will not force us to practice them, we have to do them ourselves to see them manifest. For example, in Luke 6:38, Jesus Christ Himself said:

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Whenever I see Pastors trying hard to convince people to give, it hurts me, because if every Christian has the understanding of this passage, they will constantly compete to give the biggest offering. The Bible says also in Proverbs 11:24:

“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.”

This implies that if you want to increase, sow seeds. Also, the second part of this verse tells us that there is a certain amount that is necessary to be withheld. Many Christians don’t save. They eat like every day is their last day on earth. This is wrong; if we want to lend to nations like the Bible promises, then we must learn from Joseph’s strategy, he saved 20% of everything they got in Egypt, after a few years, nations from all over the world were coming to Egypt for food.

Key Point: God’s plan for us is that we overflow in wealth, we are to control the world economy, but if we don’t read and follow His instructions, that may be impossible.

Open Heavens Daily Devotional guide was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, one of the largest evangelical church in the world and also the President of Christ the Redeemer’s Ministries.

Music: SomeTimes – Deraj Ft. Adrian Stresow

sometimes-final-1600px

Reflection Music Group artist Deraj drops a bold, inspirational rap on his new single “Sometimes” featuring Adrian Stresow available on iTunes today. The song premieres on HipHopDX.

“Sometimes” is about turning to your faith during tough times. The introspective song produced by OneBeatMusic and Halo Hitz captures feelings of insecurity and victory. The pop vocal chorus addresses the fears over sparse chords and light handclaps as Stresow sings, “I can’t do this on my own, I can’t do it all alone.”

But Deraj’s confidence is restored during the song’s verses. The music turns triumphant with aggressive, sharp and moody synths, plus knocking drum patterns. Here the Orlando-based artist acknowledges his answered prayers, rapping, “Maybe I’m being dramatic / ‘Cause you help me carry on / You help me carry on without all of my baggage.”

Deraj explains his motivation for writing the song. “We pretend that we have it all together, but the reality is that sometimes we’re afraid,” he says. “Our past and present mistakes make us uncertain about the future. ‘Sometimes’ reminds listeners that with God, we can overcome everything.”

In June, Deraj released the single “Know That’s Me” featuring K¥NG. Earlier this year, he put out the album For the People with B. Cooper. He made his debut in 2014 with Mirrors & Medicine – EP.
