TOPIC: Does Your Style Of Dressing Reflect Christ? (Seeds Of Destiny 18 April 2023)
SCRIPTURE:Â And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. Exodus 28:2
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:Â There is a worldly style of dressing and also a Christian way of dressing.
MESSAGE:
In biblical times, there seemed to be a distinct dressing style for the Egyptians and a different dressing style for the Hebrews.
Similarly, there is a worldly style of dressing and also a Christian way of dressing.
Moses, though a Hebrew, was addressed as an Egyptian, possibly because of the way he was dressed (Exodus 2:19). In the same manner, when a Christian is dressed in worldly fashion, he or she would be addressed as a worldly person.
The truth is, the fashion of our generation is sponsored by the demonic spirit of the age to lead people into eternal damnation.
Each time you go out to buy clothes, especially as a lady, the ones you can see in the market are those that leave the cleavages of the chest exposed. Even when you tell a tailor to make a dress for you, he or she would make the one that would leave the shoulders and the chest bare.
Sometime ago, a tailor made a dress for my wife. The dress was indecent in design and therefore, unbefitting of her status. She showed me the dress and said, “The tailor did this despite the fact that I told her that the neck must be high. If this one is a high neck by the tailor’s standard, I wonder what she would have made if I did not say anything.”
I told her, “This is not wearable”, and she said, “Yes, I know”. So, she had to look for another tailor to make the necessary adjustments.
Beloved, what are you advertising by your way of dressing, carnality or spirituality? Think about it!
Remember this: There is a worldly style of dressing, and also a Christian way of dressing.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Refuse to dress like the people of the world. Don’t dress to show the sensitive parts of your body.
- Dress with decency and with decorum. Dress for glory and beauty. You are royalty (Ex. 28:2).
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace not to dress indecently. Help me to dress with decency and decorum, both for glory and for beauty, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
