Sinach Becomes First African Gospel Singer Top US Billboard Charts

Nigerian born gospel singer, Osinachi Joseph professionally known as Sinach becomes the first African gospel singer to top the Billboard Christian Songwriter Chart.

Billboard is a weekly magazine of a standard record chart for the music industry in the United States. It rankings are based on sales, radio play and online streaming within the United States.

Sinach made this announcement via her official social media platforms expressing gratitude to God for another milestone in her career.

She wrote: “It’s not a competition however, this shows that we are making impact with what God has assigned us to. When you impact people with the gift of God influencing them for Jesus that’s something to celebrate!!”

The singer further applauded her team who had worked effortlessly for the success of the song and also appreciated her pastor, family and fans for their love and support.

“I am so grateful to my team ( band, producers and publishers ) . My home team for cheering me! My family, My Mum and siblings, My Mentor Pastor Chris and local church #Loveworld. Thank you @billboard !! It’s our win AFRICA/ NIGERIA ! “

Sinach made it to the chart with her 2016 hit song, ‘Way Maker’ which gained more fame following the performance of the song by Elevation Worship and Christian Rock Band in 2019.
